I didn't like him in ME3 at all, in fact me and my girlfriends just refer to him as "Potroast"

Its probably just the fault of the writers though since most of his dialogue is him not trusting you, comparing you to a husk, and accusing you of cheating. I miss ME1 Kaidan..he was cool people.

Also was really creeped out by the romance scene because I got the vibe that femshep wasn't really into it. But maybe thats just me.

Thanks for your feedback! Can you tell us what about Kaidan you did like?

I'll bite; the character was voiced perfectly, and seemed to have a good deal of depth to him.  Despite that...I just don't LIKE him that much.

Carefull, she bites back......

I dislike Kaidan. I tolerate him, but I don't take him anywhere. I think I only saved him on Virmire because I needed to make sure that bomb went off. The whole... "poor, sensitive me" thing he has going on never really sat well with me.

Then the dude ditches me when I need him, and later has the balls to hit on me. Seriously? You don't come back from that, buddy.

Consider that you can, and probably should, shoot him.

I know I intend to mess up Ashley's fancy new hair-do. No one questions me! NO ONE! I'm not with Cerberus anymore! DO I SOUND LIKE A DANGEROUS LUNATIC TO YOU?!

Ask Morden what I do with those that get in my way.

I'm okay with Kaidan. I sort of resented him in ME1 because he was a straight Femshep's only option, but that's not the character's fault. I'd never pick him over Garrus but he's not a bad guy. Personality-wise though, he's not that distinctive, which makes him forgettable. I mean, how would you describe Kaidan? Down-to earth? Not very compelling. At least Ash has flaws that she needs to overcome (e.g. her family's past and her predjudices).

No, I never got any of that dialogue besides maybe a brief mention at the beginning of ME1. He never says a thing about it in ME3. And I didn't know telling a story about your life was now considered whining. He's attempting to give you advice and conversing with you. Ashley talks about being overlooked by the Alliance because of her family history. Is she considered whiny, too?

Oh and you just told me your backstory. I guess I can consider that whining too. 'My backstory is harder than your backstory' doesn't give you the right to look down on people.

Its like that awkward moment where youre all "Man, I had just an aweful day, got mustard on my shirt, stepped in some dog poo, and didnt get that raise." and the person you were talking to is like, "Man, thats too bad. I had a pretty bad day too, I lost my job, so my wife left me. My dog, who is now my only friend was hit by a car. And my mom died of cancer." Then your like, "Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh....."

And I dont know how he acted in ME3, cause thankfully he died in 1.

It made sense narratively for him to die in me1.
His whole character development felt like it was leading to some sort of self sacrifice.

I liked/still like Kaidan - he was understandably reeling from events in ME2 and can't help but be suspicious about you and Cerberus. He was upset in ME2, and while he's still unsure about Shep at first, he's pretty much chilled out. That's quite a bit different from being "whiny." Furthermore, he's not even remotely like Carth, seeing as he doesn't have any major issues, etc.

I chose Ashley over Kaiden so I never knew him all that well... I kinda regret that, though, cause Ashley is a jerk.

Oh HEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLZZZZ NO!

Say what you want about Jacob and Kaiden. I've never taken the joy of something that Kaiden said in the game and taken it with me into real life. I've never listened to a Kaiden/Harbinger remix on youtube.

Such is the power of the Prize.

I'm a Kaidan fan, as you can probably tell by my pic, but that being said I can see where he would get on some people's nerves. I also think turning him bi for ME3 was a mistake. His personality (flaws) make sense in his story arc and being a biotic, I think he has a right to be seriously wary of anything to do with Cerberus. I'm surprised he came around as well as he did.

Also, does anyone else watch Once Upon a Time? Listening to Sbarge on there is SO surreal...

It fits for Ash as well. Her sacrifice allows her to finally prove her worth to the Alliance, which had rejected her whole family since the end of the First Contact War.

And: "OH NOES MY HEAD HURTS! ALL THE TIME!"

Yeah, Kaiden was a tool. Carth > Kaiden.

But he wouldnt have made it anyway, as Ashley was my favorite crewmate.

I thought Garrus was a pansy in the first game, but he got over it an manned up. I hated his "Is it ethical to kill bad guys to save innocent people?" Im like, is that a serious question? Shoot the sucker. By the 3rd game? Total Badass, thats all me.

In his defense, migraine is painful as hell, I'll take a broken bone over a proper migraine any time.

But I have to say I liked him in ME1 I really did, saving him over Ash was a no-brainer (she's nice, except for the whole "It's not racism, not really." part... *cringe*), his reaction in ME2 is understandable, but ME3? Really, if everyone else trusts Shepard, people Kaidan knows and has worked wiht in the past, why can't he? Sure some suspiscion is okay, but how many times does he bring it up?

And whiny? Yes, yes he is. Sure his concerns are perfectly understandable, but it feels like he's using them as an excuse for being a pain in the rear. Compare that go Garrus who points to a huge, organe, burning bltoch on his home planet and says that's his home...? Yes both of them have legitimate concerns, but Kaidan makes me feel like he thinks he's the only one in the galaxy who doesn't know how his family is dong right now.

But I have to admit he's voiced very, very well and he's a well written character, I just don't like him for the personality he developed.

I don't know. I loved Kaidan in ME1.
ME2, he pissed me off about the whole Cerberus thing, but I understood his viewpoint.
ME3, he came back, but not as lovable as I had hoped. Maybe I just lost my care for him. I don't know.

My brother see's Kaidan like you. He just doesn't like him. He thinks he's whiny and self-involved. "Kind of a pretentious douche," is what he just said.

Kaidan was my bro. Not Garrus-level, but still cool enough.

He WAS my bro on my male-shep...then he hit on me.  Ugh.

That's not his fault, it's BioWare and their lazy arsed writting and taking out the neautral option.

Kaidan's awsome and the only thing about ME3 that's good. At least for me, the rest is a steaming pile of crap.

So being taken away from your family as a kid and being brutally trained by a turian who you later end up killing is equivalent to getting mustard on your shirt? Shep's family getting killed is so far apart painwise from Kaidan's life that it's as insulting as someone comparing 'stepping in dog ****' to 'my mom dying of cancer'?

And again, is no one is allowed to complain to you cause your life has been so horrible? Sounds kind of like whining to me.

Kaidan is a biotic, and Cerberus's track record with biotics is terrible- and that camp he was 'whining' about- kids died and he snapped and killed his instructor with biotics. Look at Jack- look at what he would think of Cerberus which brought Shepard back without telling anyone, by implanting her/him with strange tech.

For me, I play an Earthborn/Sole Survivor adept- I hated Cerberus and knew a hundred percent where he was coming from. They set up Akuze, experimented on a soldier and then continued to draw people into Thresher Maw nests.

Funny, I didn't like Ashley or Kaiden in me1. I kept Kaiden alive for some reason though. So in me2 I found his response expected. And then in me3 I just found him to be the most annoying character to sit through. And THEN he hits on my male shep.

I am now replaying. Planning to kill Kaiden on virmire. Funny thing is I find Ashley just as annoying now. I was planning on her being that Shepard's li, couldn't stand her so much I went with liara anyway.

I can understand the awkwardness when he suddenly hits on a manshep without even (necessarily) having any indication that your shep swings that way. It's a pretty weird thing for a guy to do so out of the blue and honestly I don't think it's very representative of his character as a whole.
