Ashley is more of a man than Kaidan.

'Nuff said.

Kaidan's trust issues are valid, to a point. However, by the events of ME3 he should have gotten over it. I went into the game expecting to really enjoy his company, but the dialogue on Mars ruined that idea from the outset. Especially after he asked Shep if he had been huskified like that chump Cerberus grunt. Seriously, Kaidan? How long has Shep been back with the Alliance now? Didn't both Anderson and James vouch for Shepard? Having doubts after Shep worked with such people is understandable, but Kaidan really just needed to shut his effing mouth.

Didn't matter though, it gave me the motivation I needed to shoot him. Whiny bastard.

Why do you think I deliberately left him to die?

Kaidan never struck me as especially whiny in ME1. Just... spineless. In ME2, on Horizon, he struck me as self involved. For some reason, I disliked him in that scene more than I did Ashley. Haven't done a play through of ME3 with Kaidan alive yet, but I am looking forward to rubbing Garrus in his nose, just a bit.

I thought he was okay, but I still chose Ashley to save on Virmire. Of my numerous playthroughs, I've never had him survive. I know a lot of people didn't like how Ashley (and from what I've watched on Youtube, Kaiden) acted in the beginning of ME3, suspicious about Cerberus and all, but it honestly didn't bother me much. Meh, maybe I'm just odd like that.

I need to do a playthrough where I keep Kaidan alive. My femshep has no LI whatsoever cause I saved Ash.

I liked Kaidan in all 3 games but his character has definitely developed far more in ME3. He's got more of a personality now, which is a good thing.

I can understand the awkwardness when he suddenly hits on a manshep without even (necessarily) having any indication that your shep swings that way. It's a pretty weird thing for a guy to do so out of the blue and honestly I don't think it's very representative of his character as a whole.

This was Bioware throwing it in where it made no sense.

Kaidan rocks.

In fact, the new writers really nailed Garrus, Liara, and Kaidan. They all turned out perfectly.

Kaidan was my bro. Not Garrus-level, but still cool enough.

He WAS my bro on my male-shep...then he hit on me.  Ugh.

Yeah. I'm still confused as to why they made Kaidan bi and not Ashley also.
/is angry because I now have to share Kaidan with ManShep

I just logged in to check whether or not the consequences of dumping his whiny ass were too big or not. Thankfully it looks like I won't have to put up with his ****ing anymore. Christ, I save the galaxy TWICE and yet he STILL doubts me and continuously calls me out on minor BS. I support him and counsel him through his injuries and his concerns and yet he still throws his morality in my face. Screw him. If I brought him back on the ship, I'd just end up shooting him in the face. Better off with the Alliance as a war asset.

It's funny 'cause in ME1 Kaidan was pretty much a nothing to me. Although I chose him over Ashley on my main, maleshep, playthrough, I did so because I felt it was the right decision at the time and given the circumstances. This was despite hating Ashley with a passion equal to a thousand exploding supernovas.

So two of the main characters who are supposed to be Shepard's 'best buds' annoyed the crap out of me to the point where I don't want them in my play-throughs. I feel zero connection to either of them. And yet, I teared up over Thane and Mordin, and was pissed at myself for not foreseeing that choosing to tell Kelly to hide was the obvious best choice and almost went back on ten hours of playing JUST to redo that decision so she would live. I wouldn't even consider that for Ashley or Kaidan.

I like Kaidan because he sticks to his ideals, has a subtle sense of humour, gets things done without talking about it too much and pays attention to the people around him and their feelings. That's not whiny to me, that's just considerate. Plus, let's not forget he's fine as ****.

I found Ashley so annoying in ME3 I changed my ME2 save game to resurrect him and sacrifice her.

I was really hoping I'd get the dialogue option of, "I think I saved the wrong person on Virmire." when he starts questioning Shepard. His character is so...well...he makes the paragon Shepard look like a renegade. If I could describe him in one word: tool.

As I had a downloaded FemShep from 1 and imported into 2, my character had romanced Kaidan and I'd forgotten about this little fact.

This kinda left me feeling a bit awkward in ME3. Not only was Kaidan being whiny and refusing to trust me, it was obvious Shepard still had feelings for him. It got to the point where, at the café on the Citadel, he confessed his love for me... By which time I was pretty pissed at him for pulling a gun out in defence of Udina.

So I denied that emo and went round the corner to go snog Liara.

No regrets were had.

Kaidan is more likeable than ashley. Sure he a whiner, but he isn't an annoying religious xenophobe. When he questioned me about Cerberus his tone of voice was respectful and I understood his concerns. When ashley said it I wanted to knock her out.

I'm interested in seeing what Ashley is like in ME3. Maybe when Bioware patches all the bugs and releases some free DLC I'll take my MaleShep for a spin.

She's basically a female kaidan, all the same lines, etc. Only with a more annoying and hateful voice

I adore the Kaidan character. I was kind of frustrated with him not believing that my femSHep had turned from Cerberus, I was crushed on Horizon in ME2. But ME3 they kept him(except for opening to be a relationship for the maleShep) who he is in his core. I love that it made him even more real, fleshed out. It was worth staying faithful to him in ME2. Remember, everyone that keeps bashing him, his story from back n ME1. Considering his history, this guy has a lot of trust issues and for him to fall for another person who he loses in ME2 and comes back suddenly.... I know it's a game, but boy is it a great fantasy. He is THE ideal guy. I know no one in real life could be this awesome, but just wanting to find that.... And yes i am married, so i know the reality of realtionsips and pain and work andcan keep my reality and fantasy seperate.
