Not like Ash. There is a difference. Ash is less inclined to get past it.Helios969 wrote...

Funny, I found the opposite to be true. I guess it comes down to who we prefer more...or maybe who we detest less. Probably the latter.

Kaiden is whiny, wishy-washy and makes me wonder just how committed he really is.
I can't help but think Kaiden will abandon me (if not turn against me) the instant I really push things, when I decide to show the Reaper's what total war really involves.

i prefer Ash, mostly because I get the feeling Ash is capable of putting her duty before her feelings.
Kaiden strikes me as being more willing to abandon his duty in the face of moral ambiguity than Ash.
don't really care if Kaiden, or Ash, has personal issues with Shep... just so long as they do their damn jobs and help me do whatever needs to be done to end the Reaper threat.
I just get the impression Kaiden's feelings get in the way of that goal too much... like he's not willing to put in 100% because of them.

Don't worry, man, the only LI that you can "lock on" without any intentions and knowing what you're doing....is definetely NOT Kaidan. You know....renegade interrupts on different NPCs may bring unexpected results some times... *very evil smiley*...I genuinly thought I was one paragon option away from an accidental romance. I made sure to lock back in with my LI before I had any meaningful conversations with him. Didn't want to risk it.
Also for those who call him "whiner"...quote or YT link anyone? It's not him who gets hell drunk right aboard Normandy, after all...

I think they kind of killed the character in ME3. In ME1 he was.... naive? Not really ready to lead. In ME2, he was shown as more independent, and actually developing as a solider. In ME3 he was back to being naive. I wouldn't mind him as a character, but no sane military in the universe would promote the Kaiden we saw in ME3 to any leadership position.
Garrus for example is universally loved and respected ... although he never displays anything that resembles leadership qualities.
ME2 suicide mission say hello
and if there was face off between these 2 kaidan would probably get hs @ss raped
if ANYONE could lead the normandy except shepard that would be garrus anytime, anyday, anywhere

Committed to what? Following Shepard? Or doing what he thinks is right?Aiyie wrote...

When is he ever especially wishy-washy? I thought for the longest time Garrus was unintentionally wishy-washy. He needed two games and a lot of handholding to get over it.
*snort* The war involves killing, seeing people die, lots of innocent people, without being able to help them. Unless you expect to commit unspeakable atrocities under the guise of whatever it takes, I think Kaidan can handle it. It's his job.Aiyie wrote...

Not really. Garrus is not an Alliance soldier where Kaidan is, so Garrus won't be handed the Normandy to him. Kaidan already commanded a biotic operation. And Kaidan is a spectre. Kaidan has biotics, and can pratically never fall in combat. He would do fine leading, and probably won't get raped by Garrus.

I don't know. The suicide mission lacks build up and it's really hard to guess who's supposed to be good at what and what "loyalty" actually means before you have played through it and understand the mechanisms.Lili_oups wrote...

But yes, I know that Garrus is supposed to be an awesome leader ... despite his problems with hierarchy in the turian military, C-Sec and the Spectres. He has never led anything successfully before (IIRC) and needs a lot of handholding to get him to that point.

Now c'mon, just give us a single quote! Or YT link. It's hard to argue, when I we got no idea about which lines you took as "whining". I've seen all of them, I guess...i prefer someone to be drunk than listen some retard whine 24/7
Not a surprise, yet hardly has anything to do about Kaidan and his personality.ash is more popular than alenko fact

Not his fault that Ash was made (or better say awfully changed and crippled) to service an "iconic" gamer, which is young, male (and, usually, straight). Same reason she is in all kinds of promo art, and he is - not. That's not her personality and deep character developement, that gave her a spot in launch trailer, ya know.. 8P
