FACTS:
1. People saying biotic explosions aren't OP probably only use adepts and don't want their fav class nerfed
2. The 'there's no need for balance in co-op' argument is old and stupid
3. Adepts have just the same amount of shields as any other class if you take fitness, they aren't squishy

Edit: adepts also use their god-like pistols while in cooldown


Your facts and discussion aren't accurate. Weapon damage bonuses stack multiplicatively. While explosion don't get benefits from +power damage at all. Instead explosions scale with enemies hp.

It's fun running around with a human soldier, doing +100% bonus weapon damage; and it's fun running around as an adept blowing things up ...

Also, just because getting a few good weapons takes abit of time, doesn't mean adepts should be nerfed to the point where they suck even after 1000 hours spend unlocking items -_-

This only proves the rest sucked.

I agree adepts carry easily with minimal weaponry. Most other classes benefit alot more from better weapons - or suffer for having bad weapons. It isn't a flaw in the adept's design, mind you.

Plus Vanguards get infinite shield XD

Engineers are like that too. Spec the Quarian engineer right and you'll out dps most people.

EDIT: Not complaining just stating a fact, I love my Quarian Engineer. Cryo blast to incinerate Cryo explosion all the enemies!!

Powers in general feel way too strong but as someone playing an adept a lot, I agree.
Biotic explosions does so much AOE damage that it's ridiculous and they eat big, armored targets very quickly. It's like having a mini missile launcher that never, ever runs out.

Not that I'm saying what should and shouldn't be nerfed, I don't have any data or an accurate idea of how best to balance the game for a good fun:challenge ratio.

There kinda is. Only squishy races can be adepts. Only the drell adept gets damage reduction in form of Reave. Asari and Drell get the least benefit from fitness out of all classes. Take a krogan sentinel - 1500 shields and 50% damage reduction when in rage mode (40% if not). Vanguards instantly recharge shield. Human soldier also recharge shields. Salarians and quarians can take more beating than asari and drell. The thing adepts got going for them when it comes to survivability is crowd control and speed. If not utilized properly, an adept is the first to drop.

This thread is just made up of fail. Spend more time getting better, and less time complaining. My turian sentinel will be shooting things with his black widow. Who needs adepts... Cheers.

Blame the system.

I can definitely see coming a nerf of the cooldown of powers that can trigger a biotic explosion.

The problem is that power spam classes can be godlike without having to buy a single upgrade pack, while weapon dependent classes have to buy tons of packs and pray they get lucky.

You can run around in gold with a Shuriken I as a power spam class and come in first on the leaderboard (not that that really matters), but you need high-level (and rare, if a soldier) weapons to be even remotely useful on gold as a weapon dependent class. Unless there are all kinds of soldiers sporting Avengers on gold that I'm missing?

No way that's viable. Randoms do work together will enough to set of eachother's biotic explosion. 95% of the time, if you need a biotic explosion, you have to do it yourself. Adept would be useless. That's in no way fair at all.

No way that's viable. Randoms do work together will enough to set of eachother's biotic explosion. 95% of the time, if you need a biotic explosion, you have to do it yourself. Adept would be useless. That's in no way fair at all.


I did that in my gold attempts today with this one group.  I told the guy to just keep using throw on the brutes, ravagers, and banshees while I just used warp.  It was quite effcient - until we lost in wave 8/9/10

Well also think about it like this. There is a bar on the adepts since they can reach it easily. classes with weapon requirements can keep climbing their own bar and can be better. Plus what about tech bursts huh? It not good enough for you biotic lovers!

Also, what's your reasoning for nerfing the vanguard? You can't nerf explosions and Not nerf the vanguard... Much of my vanguards damage comes from explosions.

If anything, asari adepts and human sentinels have too easy a time pulling off their own explosions. Essentially a human sentinel is the same as the asari adept when it comes to spamming detonations.

It's not only Adepts though. Biotic explosions are ridiculously powerful, but tech powers are the same way. Most weapons really, really suck compared to powers.

Well, the nerf of Stasis cooldown didn't kill the class.

Anyway, the problem with nerfing the biotic explosion is that Human Adept will be more trash than he already is.

Bioware must do something about singularity, that skill is a complete joke.

I had an all asari adept team for gold today for a few rounds.  Always made it to wave 8 or 9 and  even wave 10 once or twice, then we got wiped lol.  Was extremely fun.  Lot of running circles around obstacles.  Good times.

Why does it even matter!? Don't we all get the experience in the end? It's not like we are pitted against each other.

BTW anybody up for full on adept/biotic lobby? Or even the same character? Imagine the brute's health go down with 4 drell adepts/vanguards throwing grenades. Or even lifting all the cerberus tools in the first few waves.
