Well, the response to this has been somewhat uncivil (no surprise), so lets at least reign in our emotions, so if this was flamebait, we dont totally bite on it.

It's not even flamebate, it's standard PR speak.

What they should get out of this is that the situation they have is extremly volitile.  13 pages in a matter of tens of minutes at 11 at night.

So I guess there really was never any plans for an ending DLC afterall. I'm... I just don't know what to say...

And what about all those cryptic Twitter messages, saying to keep an eye out in the future? I thought for sure they were hinting at an ending DLC. What were they talking about then, Retake Omega DLC? You can't be serious.

To all those posting in this thread: I STRONGLY urge you to read the OP of the Bioware PR topic on this forum. The tweet in this thread is a ruse to try and anger or shake us off. DO NOT GIVE UP. DO NOT fall into this trap maintain the message. HOLD THE LINE!

Apparently Bioware needs to restructure their staff. Either the writers, the developers, the project managers, or the PR.

Something isn't working for them.

They also underestimate just how fast things can travel on the internet. Over in the PR thread, the guy who fed us all the info pointed out just how much things like social networking sites have changed the way the PR game needs to be played. Bioware is doing a pretty mediocre job with it.

Honestly? And I'm just saying this as my personal point of view, I don't think they expected a backlash THIS big.

Saying "we are listening" is so utterly empty I doubt many understand just how little they can legitimately mean.

I listen to birdsong but I don't do anything about it.

They are in PR lockdown basically; let people vent, say you're "listening" and wait...

Problem is, we aren't going anywhere.

This is real simple:

If Bioware leaves ME3 as is, I'll happily replay the game (and the others) many times. I'll quit ME3 right after the culmination of the romance before the Cerberus base. I'll never touch multiplayer again. Another Bioware game will never come home with me. Bioware has made some great games and I refuse to lose sight of that.

If Bioware changes the ending I'll read reviews of their next game (both fan and critical) and let it sit to assure they aren't pulling another Mass Effect 3. If it gets good reviews I'll likely pick it up. Eventually.

What has been lost for me is buying Bioware games sight unseen. Those chips are off of the table and can't be won back.

This isn't personal - at least not for me. This is an economic decision about how I spend my gaming dollar and time. Bioware is only one company among many and my imagination is rich enough to fill in the ending of this otherwise great trilogy.

Funny to see them walking the statement back though...

This. Exactly.

Bioware is a failed company at this point.

This is why your project managers have to always tell your writers, "Look, I like that you want to be an artist, but you should also want to be employed. You have to write endings that people will like, not that critics will find edgy."

They wrote the ending of this game for themselves, for other writers, and for critics; they didn't write it for the fans, and that's the mistake.

But they way they've handled this has only made it far, far worse.

Its not even that deep  as soon as the ending  went past the project manager  desk  the writers should have gotten picture of  Sten... saying.. No

If this is true I will not buy another Bioware product. You've made hundreds off me, I expect better than this. I will stop buying Dragon Age and Star Wars games by you as well. I will not recommend another product of yours, buy DLC, or anything from you again. It's your right to not care what your fans think, but its my right to take my money elsewhere.

Honestly this a PR trick to see how you will react, dont let pressure up there trying to persuade you to give up on it by giving u an answer such as this, also honestly if it was true do you think theyd admit to a dlc being released? PR is controlling all of their tweets and posts right now to minimize the damage that means its not just bioware its EA. Take heart and dont lose hope.

There's still a silver lining if they're "listening to community feedback", right?

I don't know whats worse - that they're not planning on offering a change to the what we got...

..or that everyone who worked on Mass Effect botched up everything from the lore to the logic to the technical side of it.

That is phenomonal.

If they wont even consider changing it than they clearly aren't listening to the community as they say they are.
