Yeah, I get the feeling what they meant was, "As of right now, we haven't actually sat down to plan out our next move," not, "No, we're never making any new endings ever. DEAL WITH IT." Especially since they took it down so quickly.

Pretty sure it's just a misunderstanding. Keep holding the line, guys. ^^

It's true.  I tried to find it on FB, and I didn't see it.  If it was really meant to tell us the official statement, we would see it in more places than Facebook, it would come from somebody identifiable, liked Casey Hudson, and it wouldn't be taken down right away.

Bioware had better beware. Just seeing us as a force of 50k is misleading. Not many of my friends who play ME3 are on the forum, but their displeasure is obvious. Bioware may think it can bring us down with PR tactics, but it will be forever imprinted in my group that Bioware has fallen. Nothing coming out of Bioware in the future will be preordered ever again.

Even if they flat out say they are not making a new ending, don't ease the pressure on them. Keep commenting here on the boards, Twitter, Facebook, and gaming sites whether it be IGN, Kotaku, or even Forbes. Write letters to Bioware. Donate to the charity if you have the money to spare. If you want to really take it to the max, cancel your subscription to TOR, stop playing any EA game that uses Origin or even just Mass Effect 3. Don't take part in any Mass Effect 3 events. If they announce DLC for ME3, do not purchase it. Make them take notice that this situation is NOT acceptable to the fanbase. This is why DLC and micro-transactions have gotten out of control. Because the gamers need to take a stand against this nonsense and not let up for even a moment until we are proverbially holding victory in our hands in the form of a new ending that appeals to the majority of the fanbase instead a small minority like it currently does. The claims that the developer has the right to make a game however they like because it is their art is a fallacy. As consumers, they answer to our "almighty dollar", not the other way around.

Remember that the key words in this was "Change" and "at this time." Of course they don't have plans to change the ending at this time, the game was released less than two weeks ago!. Treat this as nothing more than some PR rabble for now

Most disappointing news ive had in a while.
I was all over this indoctrination theory, and hoping against hope that the end was something else, but apparently this is all in vain.

No one is "packing it in" or backing down because of this comment. It's just the nail in the coffin for Bioware and that's all. Now they will loose all fan support for future DLC and future games because of this comment, and I for one can't wait to see their reaction when they realize just how much money they will lose because of this!

In 140 characters or less, Bioware has now just committed financial suicide!

Holding the line means keeping our money out of these greedy bastards hands until we get a genuinely descent ending. This facebook/twitter thing has only strengthened our resolved.

Once again, NO ONE is giving up! Quite the opposite, now Bioware is sure to feel the hurt from an even stronger DLC boycott.

BTW, all this likely means is, due to the reaction here, they just won't answer any questions to do with the endings until they have an official statement.

Dude, get over yourself. We get it, you think any negative reaction is uncivil.

No, it's actually mostly civil.  I'm just pointing out that people are reading far too much into the statement since it's nothing new.  Litterally nothing new has been learned by them saying this.

Well, no, something new has been learned; they have no plans to change it. They hadn't admitted that yet, just that they were listening to feedback. Saying, "We're listening to feedback," going so far as to start a thread asking for alternative endings, says they have plans to change it, but no plans on what that content will be.

By saying, "We have no plans to change it" says, "95% of our fan base hates the ending? F**** 'em...but hey, if it hurts our pocket books then we'll 'listen'."

Um...they admited that in Casey's statement.  Casey's statement said that they did not have plans to change the endings but they were listening.  They have been saying this for a while now.

"No plans at the moment."

People...think through this for one second, please. It means they haven't come together and said, "Yeah, we should probably change the ending." It means they're still sitting there going, "Maybe they'll just shut up."

There's nothing positive about this statement. Nothing positive at all. Stop deluding yourself, realize that Bioware doesn't care about you, and then act accordingly.

You people do realize that being civil will accomplish nothing

Refusing to buy their crap and telling them that's why we're doing it is actually the way to fix it. You can be as nice as you want, but until you hit their pocketbook, you'll just be a cute distraction.

No, that's still being civil. Market tactics are acceptable, so long as you focus on the target in question and do so out of true concern. Now, if we were to charge over the the Blizzard forums, knowing nothing about them other than they are a market competator and flood the forums with "change this" rabble, that would be uncivil.

The issue is this:

People need to stop treating BioWare as this great company that respects us. I know it's hard, because many of us have been fans of the company for a long time. We've loved and admired their work.

But at the end of the day, we are a consumer, and they are a business. This isn't about us not being happy with the ending. It's about us being promised a certain product, and not getting it when we purchased it - despite the fact that they advertised it as such. Stop treating this like they might kindly change it if we are nice enough, because their fan base didn't like the ending and they like to listen to us. And start focusing on us getting what was promised to us.

Journalists want to throw around "entitled". You know what? Damn right we are entitled to the product they advertised. The gaming industry for too long has had consumers that just roll over. That are willing to put up with developers making promises and lying. Why do they keep getting away with these bad business practices? Because most gamers don't do anything about it. They just accept that the game isn't the product that was promised, and move on. Stop paying these people your money. Stop supporting them when they wrong you.

Stand up for yourself.

They only exist because WE GIVE THEM our money. If you want them to change, stop giving them money when they screw you over.

Well. I'll be boycotting all of their games and DLC now. My favorite gaming company is either going to be Bethesda or Valve. Anyone else agree?

Bioware has successfully put themselves in history for some of the worst endings ever written by mankind. They are on the same level as the Matrix, and look at their ending. It's now a line of jokes as it's that bad. Congrats Bioware, you have basically alienated all your fans with an ending filled with plot holes, inconsistencies, and basically lied to all of us after 5 years of all these quotes of how the ending will not be limited and your decisions matter.

Up until now I was more than happy to give them the benefit of the doubt - but this seals it. Un-subbed from SWTOR. A veritable firestorm is raging around this issue and yet they still "have no plans" to address our concerns. Unbelievable.

Good. I say anyone on the forum who has a SWTOR account should cancel.

How can they have no plans? Do they think this will blow over at thsi stage? Because it wont at all. This has snowballed and it isn't stopping. It is the point of no return, they can't ignore this anymore.
