The issue is this:

People need to stop treating BioWare as this great company that respects us. I know it's hard, because many of us have been fans of the company for a long time. We've loved and admired their work.

But at the end of the day, we are a consumer, and they are a business. This isn't about us not being happy with the ending. It's about us being promised a certain product, and not getting it when we purchased it - despite the fact that they advertised it as such. Stop treating this like they might kindly change it if we are nice enough, because their fan base didn't like the ending and they like to listen to us. And start focusing on us getting what was promised to us.

Journalists want to throw around "entitled". You know what? Damn right we are entitled to the product they advertised. The gaming industry for too long has had consumers that just roll over. That are willing to put up with developers making promises and lying. Why do they keep getting away with these bad business practices? Because most gamers don't do anything about it. They just accept that the game isn't the product that was promised, and move on. Stop paying these people your money. Stop supporting them when they wrong you.

Stand up for yourself.

They only exist because WE GIVE THEM our money. If you want them to change, stop giving them money when they screw you over.

I'm starting to feel like they're all full of sh*t. All of them. There is zero reason to make a statement like that if they're taking us and our feedback seriously....f*ck deleting it, it never should've went out in the first place. It's as if they're baiting us to see how we respond.

Until I see a formal press release, I'm not ruling out anything.

so they could be right, if they go with ID theory then technically there not changing the ending. Just moving ahead as planned. IDK food for thought

The fact that they removed the postings leads me to believe they're scared about the potential backlash. Putting the fear of the Retake Mass Effect movement into them is a good first step. Until they give us our endings, though, we continue to hold the line.

If they're going to announce 'We're listening, but we aren't going to do **** about anything ever', couldn't they at least do it on a somewhat more classy medium than twitter?
I'd like to imagine that if they're going to announce a giant '**** you' to the fans, they could at least do it during PAX, with maybe a little song and dance to go along with it. I'm imagining something to the tune of 'So long and thanks for all the fish' - perhaps '**** you and thanks for all the cash'

I mean, it's obvious suicide of bioware's brand value. But if they're going to torch the franchise and run, they might as well go all the way.

They deleted it, folks! If this was meant to be official it would have come from somebody like Casey. This comment came from an anonymous person.

If it was official, I would think the BSN would also be notified, not just Facebook and twitter.

Finally, like I said they took it down within minutes. You don't pull down and official statement that fast. It stays up so people get the message.

EA/Bioware: Mass Effect 3 sold enormously well, the vocal minority that claims despondency over the grim endings and abandonment of customer satisfaction comprises such a small percentage of customers, that the margin of new gamers overcomes the potential loss of "diehard happy ending gamers" to the point that any further investment to appease this vocal minority could detract from much more interesting and exciting downloaded content that the community can broadly enjoy and purchase gleefully.

My trolldar says that's a simulated quote. That would be a PR nuclear meltdown.

I still think we could create a post on their wall, and have everyone on the forum bombard it with requests for them to make a statement.

The statements we've gotten so far haven't said anything, and were even patronizing to us. Hey guys, people did like our ending look at these two articles (two journalists that mocked this very fan base for being upset). Followed up by, we respect and understand your concerns.

Guys this was a misinformed individual who is helping us on our social media channels during our launch period. Nothing has changed I'm terms of the feedback we're gathering. If we had made a decision regarding this matter, we would have relayed it in a formal announcement.

I'm so proud of everyone who has been participating in surveys, polls, threads that politely address concerns and the overall positive nature of our community. Don't forget that many issues people had with DA2 was directly addressed with DLC like Legacy. This is a serious matter and I promise that our leadership is hearing your feedback.

Stay the course guys. This was a mistake within our internal communications, not a leak or announcement.

I'm locking this thread to avoid further confusion.
