 I just started the Ardat-Yakshi monastery mission. I could go down the first ladder without problems, but on the second ladder, Shepard is stuck in the descending animation for a few seconds with the descending sound, but stays frozen. A few seconds later, he comes back out of the animation but hasn't gone anywhere. Thus I can't complete the mission.

Just press W(forward) and hold until you will fall down, firstly there will be animation that you stuck and then you will fall successfully . There are a lot of such glitches.

I just ran into this glitch as well. The above tip did not help me, but I read in another thread about trying to walk into the ladder, and that did the trick.

xrudix's tip worked for me. the glitch happened and as soon as he finished getting stuck it put me in a position so that when i tried again he descended properly. you just need to make sure you repeat after the glitch. DO NOT readjust your position first.
