I have read posts in the past that suggest that the best time to dual is at level 7 because of having an extra half attack/round upon reaching that level.
I can't remember the details, but it was something like that. Clarification would be helpful.
Does this apply when playing Tutu.
When I level up from level 6 to 7, I get this information:
Wand Saving Throw Reduced by: 1
Polymorph Saving Throw Reduced by: 1
Breath Saving Throw Reduced by: 1
Spells Saving Throw Reduced by: 1
THACO Reduced by: 1
Additional Hit Points gained 15
Lore increased by 1
As far as I can see, levelling up at level 6 would be better when you get a sixth proficiency point.
Advice would be helpful particularly as I cannot see anything about an extra half attack per round in the information given above.
Hope that someone can help.

The extra attack isn't shown in the level up screen, IIRC. Look at your normal character screen instead. (EDIT: Oh, and do so with a weapon you have at least one proficiency point in -- otherwise the lack of proficiency will "swallow" that extra ½ attack.)
The best levels are 7 (extra ½ attack for very little EXP), 10 (extra HP, not much extra EXP over level 7 dual) and 13 (a further ½ extra attack). The value of those extra attacks is increased further by Improved Haste either from normal spells or items.
Here are some useful charts for this kind of information:

Thanks for the info. Now I understand. I'll read the link when the internet stops playing up here.
Size of the web page is probably the problem.

I’d suggest, one of the reasons that level seven is so popular is because of the 161,000 Experience Cap.
1. AFAIA If you dual your Fighter to a Cleric at seven then you can still reach level eight (re-activates your Fighter class) by the end of bg1.
2. If however you decide to go with Mage then you can wait until level eight and still reach level nine by the end of bg1.
3. For a Druid or Thief you could even go to level nine.
Note that these are the maximum levels and it’s highly unlikely that a group party would hit the cap.

Fighter/Mage 8/9 needs 260k of exp.2. If however you decide to go with Mage then you can wait until level eight and still reach level nine by the end of bg1.
So these ways you cannot reactivate Fighter by the end of bg1. Or am I missing something?

Opps it looks like I flunked basic math but I can see how I got mixed up… added an extra level at the start somehow.
Ok if we agree that the cap is 161000 (TotSC) & we want to regain your first class before the end of bg1 then the example is;
We start with an human Fighter (I’ll pick a Wizard Slayer because having a kit is IMO the point of picking human over say an Elf multiclass) and we spend 64000 experience in order to level her up to seven… with me so far?
Now we have 97000 experience remaining before the cap so that leaves us with Thief, Mage or Druid if we want to recover our Fighter ability in BG1… for Cleric you need level six or dual at 7/8 and wait until you get to Athkatla.
p.s. If you don’t dual in bg1 then your Fighter would reach a maximum level of only eight so dualing early gives you a large bg2 starting advantage.

Just out of interest at present.
What happens if you have no level cap in Tutu. You then Dual class reactivating your fighter class and then import that character into BG2 with normal level cap?
If you don't know, I am well able to test this myself, and it's just curiosity at present.

The cap is just a game balance tool for BG1 & DOES NOT cross over... in other words if you have a character with say 174000 experience then he should get all of it when you import him into BG2.
