I didn't like her or her character. Maybe they should have brought back Emily Wong or Gianna Parisini.

Gianna Parisini was an undercover agent. Wouldn't make much sense to suddenly have her in the role of a reporter.

We should have been able to pick her or Wong.

BioWare killed Emily Wong off on Twitter (I'm not kidding). It was part of a pre-launch "news story" they had on their Alliance News Network feed on Twitter.

That... makes me very sad. I would have actually been fine with having Emily Wong being the reporter for the Normandy.

The character design for her face landed her pretty much with one foot in 'Uncanny Valley' as it was similar enough to her actual face to be recognizable, but at the same time just looked wrong (did one of her parents mate with a chipmunk in the ME universe?).

I'd much rather have had Emily Wong join the crew as that was a character we would have had some past history with and is one of the many side characters from the past games that seem to have been ignored and dropped going into ME3.

Edit: Apparently they killed her off via Twitter as stated by people posting above. Had not even known that which is disappointing that you don't get any sort of message about that during the game at all.

I didn't realise anyone would really care one way or the other. There've always been war reporters so her inclusion didn't seem out of place; as a character she seemed moderately interesting but under-used. I don't really have any objections, I guess.

I vote indifferent to dislike. Every time I saw/heard her, I thought of IGN. Good way to take me OUT of the ME Universe.

This was my biggest problem with her as well. She would have been fine had they not made her Jess Chobot. Could they not at the very least given her a different model?

Kept hoping there would be an option to have Javik throw her out of the airlock...

No place in Mass Effect, or behind a microphone.

Diana Allers's character and role felt forced and meaningless.

She obviously got a part in the game because IGN probably paid BioWare a truck of money for it. Or perhaps IGN promised to defend the horrible ME3 endings to the extreme and in return BioWare had to give Jessica Chobot a role in ME3?

I'd forgive the terrible ME3 ending if we could Airlock Allers. Maybe that could be a new banner, Movement to Airlock Allers.

@OP: I think a few more choices than Loved, Hate, or "who is she" would have been good.

Honestly I wish Ms. Wong would have been there :(

I actually liked her, but only because my Shepard is a massive **** and will screw anything that moves. So in that regard, he got what he wanted...

When I do my paragon playthrough, ill not visit her as often, but she does provide war assets, so she's at least useful.

Really didn't care for her addition. In a way it seems that Bioware/EA like to add characters that they think the geeks of the world will drool over. Yvonne Strahovski who played Sarah in Chuck and did the VO for Miranda, Felicia Day as that Dragon Age assassin and now Jessica Chobot.

I didn't even know who she is, the first thought was when I saw her on the citadel:

"HELL your not coming on my ship, stay the hell away."

This character is so out of place, disturbing.
But thx god its optional, who like her can keep her and who not, theres always the emergency extraction port.

I had trouble looking at her, her face was very poorly rendered. Made her look very ugly, plus the outfit she was wearing, so very ****ty, which actually turned me off even more.

You know I didn't give a damn about this, mostly because I had no idea who Jessica Chobot even was or that Allers was a representation of a gamesite journalist in the game due to not paying any attention to the gaming media.

Even if I had known, I wouldn't have really cared. It raises some questions about exactly how deeply IGN is involved with Bioware/EA, but thats about it.

I had no idea that the character was supposed to be based on someone, or who Chobot even was until after I finished the game. That being said, I absolutely did not like the character and it took everything I had in me not to kick her off the ship. She looked out of place and I didn't like the voice acting, but also I found her annoying. I liked the concept, but a different character would have been better.

i've never hated anyone in a game before, she changed that. i recruited her just to throw her off the normandy. i was hoping javik would throw her out an airlock, maybe cortez would land on her, use her as bait for the thresha maw, or at the end, everybody would survive apart from her, a happy ending where shepard tells us whats happened, 'and they all lived happily ever after, apart from diana allers, who got flattened by a falling reaper. not a fan.

I still don't get the point of adding her. Emily Wong would have made much more sense.

I just kind of ignored her. Recruited her and stopped in to be interviewed now and then but she didn't ruin my life or anything. Still dunno who Chobot is supposed to be.
