Gob Bluth, Bluster Bluth (Arrested Development)
Ron Swanson (Parks and Recreation)
@Android - Starbuck one of the best written characters? Come on, they never explained how in the hell she returned as a ghost.

He is a love him or hate him type of character for me but I do love the way he goes out in the final episode... so long as I forget about the comics.Seagloom wrote...

That's a failure of the story, not her character. Her history with the Adama family and her interaction with Apolo and Adama is something you see displayed in someone with severe emotional issues, and Kara's probably one of the best "fucntionning" self-destructive characters in fiction. That's what makes her so compelling. Her exploding and returning then her ghost dissapating has everything to do with the story's attempts to weave spiritual and science fiction together. Her character however was solid throughout the entirety of the show.

Omar from The Wire
If you've seen these three shows, you know exactly why. If I had to chose one, I'd probably say Omar.
I prefer him as Chalky White from Boardwalk Empire.

Both of those characters were a decent mix of intellect and callousness. But Omar's the baddest black guy in a trench coat since Blade, so he wins between the two.

Nah, it's was poorly written from the second season finale onward.
Oh well at first I thought you were just stating an opinion without offering anything to support it, but now that you've done so twice, I guess that's that. Egg on my face.

I can just see him giving the 'nice sharks' soliloquy in some Bioware office, refering to EA

I also think Andy Whitfield as Spartacus was very good too.
