Every single one of you need to calm down! You're all acting like ****ing children! I'm seeing posts on here by the same users every 5 minutes all day. You need to leave the house! get out! Get some air! None of this is healthy for any of you. I'm sure most of you are losing sleep while watching this unfold, sat in front of the computer all day.

Another thing; Get that ****ing Marketing/PR guy stuff out of your damn heads! Bioware are not the villain, they do NOT have a plan to sabotage your plan. Honestly, that post was the worst thing to happens to this forum. You think you have power, that you know about the inner workings of dealing with a community as rabid as you are. You don't. Stop pretending you do. You're all acting like complete children, who have been given a rock that they are now trying to force into something bigger. No matter what you may think, that rock will NEVER turn into a boulder.

Last but not least; IT'S A DAMN VIDEOGAME! You kids could be out there right now using this energy to make the world a better place to live, making something of yourselves. Instead, you're wasting it all on interactive entertainment.

This has now officially, by definition of the word, been turned into a situation of mob rule. I'm sure that, with the way you're all acting, you'll get nothing if you carry on. Bioware will simply abandon the projects they have and call it a lost cause, along with the whole community involved. They don't even have to stick around and answer all of your damn questions right now. Sometimes you all forget that most other companies would simply ignore you, yet Bioware are not. Jessica has shown otherwise. That poor girl is busting her ass off trying as hard as she can to keep all of you calm, collected, and happy, and you're trying to burn her at the stake for a post some random guy on the internet made. You don't even know that he's a marketer! You're taking everything given to you at face value and tearing it down as soon as you can.

PEOPLE AREN'T OUT TO GET YOU! BIOWARE ARE VERY CLEARLY NOT TRYING TO IGNORE YOU! YOU'RE BEING HEARD! GO AND OCCUPY YOURSELF WITH SOMETHING ELSE FOR A DAY OR TWO UNTIL THEY HAVE NEWS!

You run the very real risk of them cutting you and moving on if you don't calm down. Especially on the Twitter feeds. Jessica is not throwing out double speak, you barely even know what that means! You aren't marketers, and you're very highly likely going to give this poor COMMUNITY MANAGER (NOT PR) a brain hemmhorage if you don't back off, purely because of the last ten minutes of a videogame! A ****ING VIDEOGAME!

Stop and think before you act!

Sidenote: Community manager means she works for you and in your interest. The ruder you are, the more you're shooting your own messenger.

Yes, BioWare is a really awesome company that really cares about what people are feeling.

They totally aren't in business to make profits, and aren't owned by a major corporation. They exist just to create wonderful experiences for us. :o

You should not even be here. People like you are the ones making this as bad as it is. You're fanning flames you don't need to fan. You still need to grow up a lot before people will start taking you seriously.

I've actually been very grown up.

I just think you are naive to think there isn't such a thing as PR spin/strategy. Business/marketing is clearly out of your depth.

For the record, I have never once encouraged people to act angry, or be disrespectful. I just believe people have a right to be upset from a consumer point of view. And encourage people to continue to be vocal, and not stand down.

I'm sorry you don't agree with that.

In all honesty, they should just shut down the boards in general until they make a statement.

You have no idea how badly that would battered their wounded reputation. Locking the boards would make many angry fans even more vindicated in their anger. It would only reinforce the sentiment that they aren't listening.

Think about the long term effects, your suggestion would only make things worse.

To be fair, a good portion of those threads start off with the same 1 paragraph explanation and intentional bad spelling.  What would actually be needed is the ability for large swaths of us to refrain from taking the bait.

You're also forgetting the now almost obligatory "I liked the endings and if you don't youre an entitled whiner".

The same threads who praise the ending typically also bash those who don't, or claim they just don't "get it".

How are people expected to respond to those who can't post in a civil manner in the first place?

I left those out because they're usually in the title :D  I think the true crime is based on this wave there wasn't really an oppertunity to sift out many of the trolls from people who actually liked the ending.  (We can put them on a nature preserve of something)

So BioWare expects us to believe that "someone" misspoke on BOTH the TWITTER and FACEBOOK Mass Effect channels?!

I think it's pretty clear that whoever made the "slip up" on two different occasions/outlets confirmed what's actually happening, and Jessica Merizan is now trying to do even MORE damage control.

This is a low-down, dirty shame if they really don't have any plans AT ALL to change the ending right now.

We need to Hold.The.Line. now more than ever....

If Jessica is to be believed (and I think she is), the same person was handling both accounts at the time and was misinformed. Someone - the same person, singular - screwed up. Not out of malice, but out of ignorance. Ignorance is curable, at least.

Let's stay reasonable here, please. There's no reason to make this personal. But we must Hold the Line!

And not do what the idiot who just tweeted Jessica did. Holy crap.

Alright. We have done a great job so far keeping our message on point and civil, but we need to watch our aim. I know people say that their efforts at "humanizing" BioWare is all part of their plan, but dammit they are human. They spent countless hours on this game and they released it thinking it would be great. They miscalculated. It happens, especially when you're creating inside a bottle. That doesn't make it acceptable -- and I desperately want them to fix it -- but we do need to mix some understanding with our message.

BioWare has allowed me to experience some of the best storytelling of my life, and a lot of that was from the Mass Effect series. We need to emphasize our love for them, too, not just our disappointment. I know that sounds touchy-feely but how much are they going to want to do for us if all we're doing is screaming our hate?

Merizan seems to be trying too hard at being the nice cop. If the silence continues she may eventually end up getting anger directed at her for seeming like she's chiding the movement.

There are some who need to be chided.  That needs to be accepted as fact.

There are also some who aren't on these boards and there's nothing we can do about them.

And some are probably out there just to make us look like idiots.

I think the vast majority here are doing pretty well with the civil discourse, and at the end of the day if ideas are pulled from anywhere they are probably going to be pulled from here.

This.

Just remember, nothing pisses a troll off more than not being able to get a reaction out of people. Calm, polite responses are the best revenge.

Hold the line, and remain paragons of protest.

This slip up can only add to our cause gaining momentum. Remain calm, and hold the line! We will not go quietly into the night. We will have our better ending. People should go take a break for a little while, don't stress out too much. Come back rested up and ready for some more news and debates. It's all about setting a pace, an emotional one. If we get too mad we're going to burn out. We have to be in this for the long run. Show them we're not going away.

Disappointed with the game ending?  Fine.  It's justifed IMO.  Be constructive and polite about it.  Verbally abusing if not threatening Jess over it.... WTF?!?!?!

There isn't a whole lot you can do for people that act out. You have to consider that a lot of people are not happy about ME3, and not all of them are on this forum. Nothing you can really do. Just keep yourself civil.

Right. It's important that -- without giving up or falling silent! -- each person themselves remain human. Turning into rude and threatening monsters will get one nowhere.

And what we do here is proper.  Condemn this whackjob.  I mean look around at most of the constructive posts that have been around.  If anything it's an object lesson that:

A) You can't just an entire movement by its most whackjobby members
B) There are actually sane people inside movements that condemn those whackjobby members.

This.

This is not a war. This is a diplomatic contest. A figurative battle of influence. There are no enemies, here. There are only people who are persuaded by civil behavior and kindness.

We must be firm, yes, and we must be honest, but we MUST NOT be rude. We must discuss the situation on its own merits and stand strong in the face of people who, like IGN, attempt to mischaracterize us. And we must denounce foolish words from both sides, or we lose the moral and intellectual high ground in this circumstance.

THAT is what it means to Hold the Line.

The time for that I don't believe is now.
(However if they do come out and officially say "No Ending DLC, you should probably save a copy)

I like what she said and I trust her, folks should stop busting her chops, she's a person doing a tough job and she's being supportive of us. Things are going well and we've done a great job staying positve and remaining civil and patient, we need to stay in that place.

The problem with grasping at induction ports is people try to build entire elaborate theories on them.  In the 24 hour news cycle, social media around the clock world, everyone is super duper high tuned to reacting as soon as possible to everything at all times.

Sometimes there is benefit to this, sometimes there is not.
