Oldest trick in the book. C'mon Jessica, I almost pity you. Why the heck would you need to delete the post before admitting someone misspoke anyway?

Um, because they actually mispoke?  They don't want misinformation hanging around.

Until they give an official statement, the misinformation is the only thing that stands.

If it's all misinformation than we can't deduce anything meaningful from it anyway, for good or ill, and the correct action is just to ignore it.  Seems to end up in the exact same place regardless.

Original post: "Nothing is in the works, but we're listening"
Her post: "Well, ignore that. We're not doing anything either way, we're just listening"

I don't understand how they are different, or how they're bad.

One is "We are not even thinking of doing it" and the other is basicly "We can neither confirm or deny"

"They told us they can neither confirm or deny, which is a confirmation of sorts" - Shooter

Maybe because it's late, but it seemed like she said they were getting feeback to help direct the content.

You only do that if you plan on changing the endings. The way she makes it sound is they're figuring out what ending(s) they should do that would make the majority of the people happy.

Then again, I could be reading into what she said.

Was the problems with "DA2" actually addressed in "Legacy"? I have no idea, I never played the game.

Neither did I, DA2 got thrown out after the first playthrough, but, I do think, Bioware will do the same thing it did with DA2, it will bury its head in the sand, wave goodbye to the hardcore fans who are upset, and pander to the 'huge faceless' majority of gamers who just play and enjoy whatever **** that gets put infront of them.

It was the same for Call of Duty and World of Warcraft and EvE Online companies now, thanks to online play, they have statistics about everything, they have been saying for a while now,

'We dont care what you say, we make our decisions based on what 'you' do, we look at player 'behavior' and respond accordingly" - most game companies today.

Its just the direction the industry is moving in, its leaving its 'golden age' and now entering its 'sell out make money' stage like Hollywood in the 80's and 90's when all it cared about was 'blockbusters'.

Ill tell you how this will end, Bioware will release DLC, that doesnt make the changes we want, it will simply enrage more people, as time goes on, the hardcores will give up, and a new wave of players who 'love' the ending and game, wil start to attack the few remaining 'original' community members who hate the ending.

Eventually the forum will be full of nothing but Kinect threads, and 'best James Vega quote' thread and people wil laugh at the silly RPG players who once got upset about this game.

They will all be super excited about Biowares new 3rd person shooter, which will be a Gears of War clone.

Well even if they have no plans to change the ending now, we'll just have to change their minds. Hold the line.

Jessica Merizan seems absolutely sincere about her concerns for fans. Maybe she's just extremely good at her job, but I always feel reassured by her support. Let's all calm down about this.

I <3 jessica. She is the only one trying to be good to us among a sea of bioware not caring. She calms my nerd rage.

That feel when you realize she's just putting up a front to acheive this exact result and thats the only reason they hired her.

Nerd rage is appropriate for certain times, this is not it. Nerd rage will only set us back. We need to be calm and assertive. Dominant but not aggressive. EA is a dog and we need to show dominance. TSST EA! TSST!

Jeez, poor Jessica. You should see the storm of fires she's having to put out on Twitter right now.

Look, if there's anybody who's shown us that she can be trusted in all this, it's her. Give her some credit.

That said, do hold the line.

This whole mess seems like a really good place for Hanlon's Razor...

I think that we should start using their PR tactics as part of our protest.

"We can neither confirm nor deny that we will ever buy your products again should the endings remain unchanged.  Thank you for coming with us on this incredible journey - we appreciate your feedback and will announce our next course of action soon."

Signed,

Everybody.

This is how I feel sometimes. Like they are too proud to admit their endings are nonsensacal and badly written. They are SO badly written that the only way they make sense is if they are a dream.

AHHH NERD RAGE IS BUILDING AGAIN!

Haha, that is too awesome.

I'd prefer for us to meet in the happy middle ground of compromise.

I used to hate the ending, but every minute I spend on the forum makes me want them to not only say there will never be an improved ending, but the current ending will be made even worse.

basically she said what they are doing

I think Jessica making the comment is important, because it shows we make them nervous. There were enough people freaking out about that comment, after midnight, to warrant waking her up for.

I don't know if they just leaked the truth or not, but it gives me heart that enough people are reacting to it to have them worried.

We ARE holding the line. We just have to keep it up.

So your opinion on what is a good end to a story and what isn't depends on the community's reaction to that ending?
