Someone is getting demoted to cleaning the toilets at the company. I bet the PR department either loves this as it makes them look good by denying it or they're going to have a very bad monday morning.

So BioWare expects us to believe that "someone" misspoke on BOTH the TWITTER and FACEBOOK Mass Effect channels?!

I think it's pretty clear that whoever made the "slip up" on two different occasions/outlets confirmed what's actually happening, and Jessica Merizan is now trying to do even MORE damage control.

This is a low-down, dirty shame if they really don't have any plans AT ALL to change the ending right now.

We need to Hold.The.Line. now more than ever....

What we need to accept is that they "didn't" have any plans to change the ending of the game before it was released.  This needs to be accepted so that we understand the depth and scope of what we're asking and what time it will take even if we get an announcement that it will be done.

What we need to not accept is that they won't plan to change it now that they've heard the depths of the outrage.

I know this may all seem to be semantics, but it really isn't.  I know many of us just expected bioware must have done this on purpose to fix it later, but it is more logical that that isn't the case.

However with the depth of outcry and feeling we must show that we understand this was the intended ending and we expect that they WILL make it right by us.

Her example of DA2's issues being fixed in Legacy is a flawed analogy, I think. One, I didn't buy it because DA2 was disappointing as hell. Two, simply tacking on an extra mission or two doesn't fix problems with the game itself.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, if Bioware wants to charge us for something that should've been in the game from the beginning I will just watch it on Youtube and save them from the burden of my money.

If Jessica is to be believed (and I think she is), the same person was handling both accounts at the time and was misinformed. Someone - the same person, singular - screwed up. Not out of malice, but out of ignorance. Ignorance is curable, at least.

Let's stay reasonable here, please. There's no reason to make this personal. But we must Hold the Line!

Why is it that any time anyone from Bioware says anything that seems to be kindhearted and in good spirits, we all go "Dah! Bioware is still the company we love. Let's all cut them some slack"? Jessica is just a PR person. Their entire job is SPIN, ya knuckleheads.

You'd think they would say the person was hacked, not that it was an actual BioWare employee.

When one employee says something and the other says something different, who are we to believe? The guy who said it wasn't going to be an A, B, C decision, or the one who wants speculation on the end of a trilogy.

I'd like to imagine that if they were going to announce a giant '**** you' to all their customers, it would be through a more classy medium than Twitter or facebook.
Maybe during PAX, they could do a little song and dance of '**** you and thanks for all the cash' (to the tune of so long and thanks for all the fish).

If they're going to torch the franchise, they might as well go all the way and end it with STYLE.

Exactly. As I said, people need to break their view that BioWare is this friendly company that cares so much about us and might change the ending becaue they like to listen to us.

Instead focus on the fact that they promised us a product, advertised it a certain way, then didn't deliver that product when we paid for it. We are being responsible consumers by calling them out on their bull****.

Regardless if Jessica is nice or not, she's just doing her job.

Jessica seems to get ticked off whenever anyone brings up theories about PR people in the tweets. I wonder if she knows about atghunter's thread?

I think it's largely because they're brought up in an accusitory manner.  The knowledge of PR tactics should be used as a way to defend against being mollified, not a way to attack the PR answers.  (Outside of knowing how to read them to realize when nothing has been said.)

At the end of the day she may be our only real solid line to anything inside.  We can not, I repeat we can not afford to burn the few bridges we may have if we have any chance of getting the endings fixed.

I know some of us are more invested in burning everything to the ground and walking away and never buying another product.  And if it comes to the point that they stick with these endings I could see myself among them.  But we aren't there.  This is not the time to give up the fight, this is the time to stand and be civil, respectful, and reasonable.  And let them know that we're not planning to go anywhere.

Jessica is just giving the Illusion of Hope.....the same way the Bioware writers gave us the Illusion of Choice for 5 years.....we all know how that turned out: Mass Extinction to the Mass Effect universe and everybody in it....

A note about DA2. Issues people had with this title were much harder to fix. It would pretty much require to remake the entire game. In case of Mass Effect 3 issue is much easier to fix. I think it is reasonable to expect from Bioware that they CAN do this. In case of DA2 it was not that easy. So whatever they tried to do with DA2 post-launch and if they succeeded or failed is not a defnite answer to our ME3 issue.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that a lot of us are aware of PR talk and the fact that Bioware is a self-interested company; however, there's no need to be crass or aggressive about it.  Some people are just happy to see that someone is actually replying to them vs. the stone wall treatment.  It doesn't mean they're giving in or weakening, they're just having a moment.  No worries.

Bioware are awesome, and so are their people. But that doesn't mean they didn't make a terrible mistake with the endings. Taking exception to the incredible failure of the ending doesn't mean we have an issue with their people. Good, solid, competent people still make mistakes all the time.

Bioware, we will forgive you, and continue to love you for all eternity. If you just, please, in the name of sanity itself, FIX THIS.

Becouse I believe that if someone wants something from me and handles it correctly he may have a chance to get it. If I will get an angry brat slamming at my door I will just call the cops instead. Of course we as customers also have patience and there is a limit but please do not be outright dismissive from the start. We need to show some token of good will if we expect them to do the same. Just keep holding the line guys.

It's a "mistake" yet it popped up on Twitter & Facebook - as soon as they saw the overwhelmingly negative response, MISTAKE MISTAKE PUT THE FIRE OUT.

I wish they'd STICK with something. Even if it generates even more negative press, just friggin' stick with something.

I'm not saying I don't believe her - just that the whole "someone misspoke on BOTH Twitter and Facebook" is entirely too convenient. The way in which the messages were also said, "we have no plans at this time..." wasn't even smoke and mirrors. It was a flat-out statement.

The more and more BioWare continues to play us and drag us along, the more it's going to turn into people just wanting an ending and, even if it proves to be redemption, jump from the BioWare ship entirely in the future.

They may not have any idea now, but each day they drag this situation out, they're further alienating their fanbase and digging themselves a deeper hole. We'll end up holding the line, and at some point they'll address the ending specifically; but when that time comes, it might be too late. Sure, we'll cave, and even pay for ending DLC if we have to - but again, we'll have lost all faith in BioWare at that point with anything else they make in the future. They're really undervaluing our trust as a fanbase, and frankly, it's insulting.

Exactly. Some people condemn anyone involved with Bioware at all. Calm down. First off, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with PR. PR isn't French for 'people who distract you while Bioware plots to kill your mother.'

Calm. Down.

Besides, isn't "gathering feedback to create content that keeps it in mind" exactly what we want Bioware to do? I don't see how that could be spun against us. =/

You talk as if there will be some meeting going on to determine the fate of new endings, and just as everyone in the room seems to be reaching the concensus that no new endings are going to happen, Jessica will burst in like a boss and say "Holf the **** up!"
You people need to grow up. She's not in this with us. She's part of the machine.
