So BioWare expects us to believe that "someone" misspoke on BOTH the TWITTER and FACEBOOK Mass Effect channels?!

I think it's pretty clear that whoever made the "slip up" on two different occasions/outlets confirmed what's actually happening, and Jessica Merizan is now trying to do even MORE damage control.

This is a low-down, dirty shame if they really don't have any plans AT ALL to change the ending right now.

We need to Hold.The.Line. now more than ever....

If Jessica is to be believed (and I think she is), the same person was handling both accounts at the time and was misinformed. Someone - the same person, singular - screwed up. Not out of malice, but out of ignorance. Ignorance is curable, at least.

Let's stay reasonable here, please. There's no reason to make this personal. But we must Hold the Line!

And not do what the idiot who just tweeted Jessica did. Holy crap.

No kidding... Goddess. O_o

I nearly flipped when I saw that. That is exactly the kind of thing that doesn't win us any favors.

Everyone is PR to you people.

Yeah. I can't possibly see how Public Relations would have anything to do with a Community Manager.

I want to underscore what Aweus said.  DA2's issues were systemic to the game and would have taken a rewrite of the game to fix.  Not the DLC that myself and many others didn't even bother to pay for and see.

ME3's issues can easily be fixed in a single dlc.. they're not systemic to the game itself.

Hold the Line.

Why is it that any time anyone from Bioware says anything that seems to be kindhearted and in good spirits, we all go "Dah! Bioware is still the company we love. Let's all cut them some slack"? Jessica is just a PR person. Their entire job is SPIN, ya knuckleheads.

Everyone is PR to you people.

Exactly. Some people condemn anyone involved with Bioware at all. Calm down. First off, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with PR. PR isn't French for 'people who distract you while Bioware plots to kill your mother.'

Calm. Down.

Besides, isn't "gathering
feedback to create content that keeps it in mind" exavtly what we want Bioware to do? I don't see how that could be spun against us. =/

lol I like this, actually.

And they don't know how to calm down. It's like someone kicked a nest of bees. Someone needs to get a fire extinguisher to make them simmer down.

Are you seriously so biased against people who have a different take on the ending than you that you think we're all going to condone that sort of remark?

Jessica Merizan seems to be very genuine. She's doing a hard job exceptionally well. I hope that when she presents her ME3 feedback report to the company that we will finally see decisive action on the part of BioWare to develop an ending expanding DLC.

Jessica seems to get ticked off whenever anyone brings up theories about PR people in the tweets. I wonder if she knows about atghunter's thread?

I think it's largely because they're brought up in an accusitory manner.  The knowledge of PR tactics should be used as a way to defend against being mollified, not a way to attack the PR answers.  (Outside of knowing how to read them to realize when nothing has been said.)

At the end of the day she may be our only real solid line to anything inside.  We can not, I repeat we can not afford to burn the few bridges we may have if we have any chance of getting the endings fixed.

I know some of us are more invested in burning everything to the ground and walking away and never buying another product.  And if it comes to the point that they stick with these endings I could see myself among them.  But we aren't there.  This is not the time to give up the fight, this is the time to stand and be civil, respectful, and reasonable.  And let them know that we're not planning to go anywhere.

You talk as if there will be some meeting going on to determine the fate of new endings, and just as everyone in the room seems to be reaching the concensus that no new endings are going to happen, Jessica will burst in like a boss and say "Holf the **** up!"
You people need to grow up. She's not in this with us. She's part of the machine.

No there isn't going to be some meeting, but there is constructive criticism on the top.  It is what you would call a "best shot"  and when it all comes down to it, if no one in the company at all is going to advocate for this action at all, then what do we have?  Nothing.

It is already known that we're past the "This SUCKS" stage.  The cork is off the bottle and the rage is well known.  But you can't keep up pure unfocused rage forever, people like that are written off.  But the people who say "DLC purchases will stop until this endings issue is resolved" are going to be the ones who have a shot at getting listened too.

I know you're angry, but punching Al-Jilani doesn't get you war assets.

I'm not saying I don't believe her - just that the whole "someone misspoke on BOTH Twitter and Facebook" is entirely too convenient. The way in which the messages were also said, "we have no plans at this time..." wasn't even smoke and mirrors. It was a flat-out statement.

The more and more BioWare continues to play us and drag us along, the more it's going to turn into people just wanting an ending and, even if it proves to be redemption, jump from the BioWare ship entirely in the future.

They may not have any idea now, but each day they drag this situation out, they're further alienating their fanbase and digging themselves a deeper hole. We'll end up holding the line, and at some point they'll address the ending specifically; but when that time comes, it might be too late. Sure, we'll cave, and even pay for ending DLC if we have to - but again, we'll have lost all faith in BioWare at that point with anything else they make in the future. They're really undervaluing our trust as a fanbase, and frankly, it's insulting.

Except it was the same person. How is that 'convenient'?

And they might not have specific plans yet. That doesn't mean they WON'T... I admit, I'd like it to go faster, but development takes time.

What we need to accept is that they "didn't" have any plans to change the ending of the game before it was released.  This needs to be accepted so that we understand the depth and scope of what we're asking and what time it will take even if we get an announcement that it will be done.

What we need to not accept is that they won't plan to change it now that they've heard the depths of the outrage.

I know this may all seem to be semantics, but it really isn't.  I know many of us just expected bioware must have done this on purpose to fix it later, but it is more logical that that isn't the case.

However with the depth of outcry and feeling we must show that we understand this was the intended ending and we expect that they WILL make it right by us.

Money has a magical way of making things ilogical, logical. They cut form ashes from the game only to add it as DLC later, why not cut the real ending out then release it for a price saying it was becuase "We listened to our fans"
Also note that the orginal FB post that started this all was in response to a question about the rumored "The truth" DLC. this is the same for the later twitter response. To me if its not true they would have stuck with that statement, the fact that the are so quickly back paddling with a trusted bioware employee so late at night with a 'neither confirm or deny' answer ups its chances at being possible

Mr. Vince C. Mathieu does not represent Retake. He represents only himself, and quite shamefully at that.

There isnt such a thing as a sane movement on the planet if your measuring stick is "what do the idiot extremists in it think?".

I'm not comfortable with you lumping me in with that kind of crazy. Every movement has a few whackjobs in it - just look at politics if you don't believe me. But trying to paint everyone in it with the same brush doesn't do YOU any favors, either.

eh? I have a problem with people who are threatening someone's life over a video game ending they can't bare yes, how is that your problem, I don't know. I haven't seen any of you saying otherwise, infact, the more this goes on, the more threats and demands I see on these forums and on twitter.. so perhaps you need to know more about the group you are involved in

I really like Jessica!  The more I hear from her, the less infuriated I get about the whole thing...  I feel like when she speaks to the problem, she's being geniune - and not condacending like some other official "non-responses" I've heard.  Of course... that's her job...  But she's very good at it.

You mean, not for the zombie apocalypse?

But in all seriousness, it's people like that that make the whole "Video games make people violent" speech true.
