Mass Effect is one of the few games that really drew me into the game
and left me wanting more reading every detail i could about possible new releases
etc the story the choices you made how it all played out and how it effected
your story the excellent voice acting , the beautiful races , places you visit the
whole experience mass effect is more then JUST a game its a experience
that experience was torn apart by the ending of mass effect 3
its unaccaptable , iam holding the line.. because i want the love for these series
to last FOREVER !

This final game was hyped and built up by Bioware to be the end all of conclusions, bring closure to ALL story lines, world (galaxy peace) and delivered on next to none of them or they were done very poorly. Much like President Obama. We the people expected and deserve better than this unfinished product that we paid $60 for.

I'm fighting because I think my Shepard and his crew deserve better than the ending they got. I lost Mordin, Thane, and Legion, and dammit, I cried for all of them. To think that the sacrifices they made, the emotional turmoil ALL of them have gone through was all for nothing not only does the player a disservice, it violates the core of Mass Effect's themes(Tolerance, unity, overcoming impossible odds). That's why I hold the line.

Our Choices Should Matter-Hold the line!

Not holding the line - never did. I consider ME3 an all-around failure for more than just its ending, and will not reward that failure by putting any more money into it (sold off my copy, in fact).

No compromise. Sorry.

On an immediate level I'd like to see endings that provide a satisfactory conclusion to my playthrough.

On a wider level I'd like to see endings that serve as a fitting conclusion to a genuinely brilliant series - taking into account player actions, style and choices.

On an overall scale I'd like to see a product that is faulty match the advertising it was sold with. For a publisher and developer to learn from this and not make the same mistake in future. I'd like to see them improve and go from strength to strength so that customers can get quality products.

The only other series I have played that provided more than enough closure was metal gear 4.

I want the mass effect series to give me closure. Bioware got lazy with this ending, there is so much proof of that, plain and simple.

I am holding for quality.

Bioware is capable of doing better, as evidenced by the rest of the game.

Because I've seen this before, and I'm sick of it.

First there were the midichlorians and Jar Jar Binks. Then Samus began crying at the sight of Ridley and following orders that made no sense. Now we have to go along with Starchild's blatantly circular logic and the self-destructive results of his "choices"?

I am tired of my favorite sci-fi series being systematically destroyed by their own creators. This is the only chance I might get to save a franchise I love from that fate. That's why I'm holding the line.

The ME series is too good to go out like this.

Because I love the Mass Effect series and it just doesn't deserve such an ending. I don't want to think: "WTF happened?", but more like: "THIS is it, this is the end of shepard and her story!"

This. We should be allowed to choose the ending we want, and make it MAKE SENSE.

Currently: You want a depressing end? Great, you got it.
You want anything else? To hell with you.

What it should be: You want a depressing end? Great, you got it.
You want a tragic end? Great, you got it.
You want a "happy" end? Great, you got it.

Because the endings ruined what I can only describe as one, if not the greatest, stories I've ever seen. The mere fact that the ending was preset despite all the work I put into the game itself just insults my efforts and makes all the time I spent playing seem like a waste of time.

In objection to the actual ending opposed to what was promised.

In objection to the absolutely poisonous creative process that believes sacrificial death automatically means great storytelling.

In objection to narrowing out from the creative process that denies the possibility that sometimes, only sometimes, they can go home.

In objection to the idea that 'speculation' requires unclear storytelling.

In objection to Anything In THE WAY OF THE BLUE CHILDREN!!

Just sayin'.

To teach videogame companies that they cannot mess with their core gamers and expect us to blindly move on to their next $60 project with no questions asked. To let Bioware know that its seemingly newfound direction of courting the non-rpg gamer is a bad idea.

Though i never defended DA2, I gave Bioware the benefit of the doubt and fully expected ME3 to unquestionably restore my view of Bioware as a top notch storyteller.

Needless to say, here I am holding the line and posting on this thread.

Because this ending made me feel awful. And not because the one I got was sad. Because it was completely bleak, there was not the option of something better if I wanted it, in fact little option at all, it made no logical sense, and didn't give me the resolution about the fates of the characters that I needed for catharsis. The OP quoted Mordin's "Can't anthropomorphize galaxy" line, and this explains that last aspect perfectly. And even if you can, best case scenario things are still going to go horribly for it for centuries.

So yes, I would love to see Bioware offer the option for alternate endings to those who want them.

I'm doing because if we don't the whole trilogy will be remembered for one thing ... the ending, and that would be a tragedy.

I'm holding the line because...

1) I want to see a much better ending to ME3 than what we were given. Promises kept.

2) I want to WANT to replay the series again. Right now the series is ruined for me and I can't pick it up again.

And perhaps most importantly of all:

3) I want to be able to trust Bioware again. I want to believe in them again. I want to believe they'll give me quality and that the stories I am invested in, that I have supported with my purchases, will be completed well. (And I want to be able to believe that they will not try to use this as a way to gouge for more money from the fans.)

Because I love the Mass Effect series (including ME3) and think that it deserves a destination on par with the ride.

And to showcase some fundamental flaws in modern day game design/publishing

They got away with PR lies and rushed production too many times.
Ideally, at the end of this, delivering an unfinished product will finally be as scary as not delivering a product in the intended timeframe
