Because the ending of Mass Effect 3 ruined the series for me. Stole the magic from the series and did the exact opposite of what the fans wanted it to do.
Pretty much this.
Haven't been able to play ME3 since I saw that horrible ending.
I'm reminded of that abomination every second I play.
And I'd love to play some more ME3!
So frikkin awesome! 1!!
...Until the godchild appears
Didn't think it was possible for an endig to retroactively "ruin" previous games, but somehow it did.
Edit: Hold The Line!

I want to be able to call Mass Effect my favorite series, ever. I'd like to be able to look back at it 20 years from now and still remember how good it was. I want to think of it as the Star Wars of my generation.

But in fact I'm fighting for and ending and a complete game where your actions throughout the previous games actually makes an impact! I'm fighting for different endings! I'm fighting for all my exploring, negotiating and collecting of war assets actually makes a difference! I'm fighting for my crewmates not to die in vain! I'm fighting for Earth and the entire Milky Way!
And I truly believe that if we get together and let our voices be heard, we will win this fight! We will prevail and EA/BW will make the epic red thread and ending as we truly deserves!
We will HOLD THE LINE!

For my lil bro, whom I don't want to see as upset as I was.
For me, because I spent a lot of time and money with this trilogy and I cannot accept the terrible work that the endings are.
For all of that I'm still holding the damn line and it's an honor to fight alongisde all of you.

Because Mass Effect is worth it. This isn't the newest Call of Duty or Battlefield. This is a series that means more than just killing your friends online, or talking trash with some kid in Alabama. We've spent five years building relationships with Garrus, Tali, Liara, Wrex.... and I'll be damned if it ends like this.
That is why I'm holding the line. And that is why so many of us care
this.

*Except DA2.
The ending however, pushed me back to an observer role with little input from my side. Also, dying alone. Really... after hoping for adopted children and a house on the beach with Mr. Awesome Vakarian that was a punch to the guts.
Actually, I tire of defending my opinion on happy endings like it was something awful to put into a game. I would really like an optional happy ending. Make it NG+ and 10000 EMS if you want. But happy. Just one of them. Pretty Please?
Hold the line.

I want my efforts (or lack of) reflected in the end of the game. I want to want to replay it again, and again, and again until I'm bored. Because I know I'll do it if I find the story will be closed.
And I also want the end the characters, which we have come to love/hate, deserve.

Because I truly want to play Mass Effect all over again, but without a proper ending I have no reason and this saddens me.
Because (on a purely selfish note) what Bioware gave me was not what they told me I was buying, I deserve what I paid for.
Hold the line!

Normally I don't care. ID promised the earth and served up a steaming pile called Rage. I was annoyed but got over it. Bioware served up DA2. I was annoyed but wasn't attached to the game. However, ME3 was THE game I had been eagerly waiting for, the promises made, the reassurances given and the expectations set. For the most part ME3 delivered.. and then the endings happened. I felt cheated. Depressed. Angry. The product had been reduced to a bare bones, second rate, day time TV drama conclusion.
It hurt. Whoever wrote that ending, whoever authorised it, and whoever thought it was a good idea to begin with, were very very sadly mistaken. It didn't just ruin a great game, it killed a franchise.
"We fight, or the franchise dies" because we care.
"We hold the line" because if we don't, this same bollocks will happen again.. and again, and again.

But now I also hold the line so in the future companies won't pull another ending like Mass Effect 3 and try to ignore the fans / make a profit from incomplete endings by selling DLCs and forcing people to pay more.
Companies needs to wise up that Customers won't take their BS laying down anymore....
This actually feels like the Mass Effect....
IF we don't stop this at some point....the cycle will continue into the future....

This this this!
It was SOOOOOO close to being there too. I was ready, up till 10 minutes before the end, to declare it my favorite series of all time.
If only I had listened to Marauder Shields.
Hold the line.

I have spent so much time playing the Mass Effect series following this incredible journey. I'll be damned letting my Shepard's story end like this. He/she deserves better and I will fight for that. (In a civil manner of course.)

Oh yes, drama.
Though this is actually how I feel. After such a great ride that took me almost 200 hours, interacting with characters I grew to really like, having this bittersweet feeling of 'I don't want the game to end, but I really want to know what happens in the end!'. This is simply unacceptable. Now I cannot listen to the soundtrack, that's how bad I felt in the end. These Ten Last Minutes make you completely forget about the rest of the series. That the buildup of 5 years and 2 amazing games led to this, the 'Grand Finale' that leaves more questions while not giving any answers. Disappointment and betrayal.
And that must change.
Hold. The. Line.

In short, a worthy ending for this series. That's what I'm holding the line for.
