Sorry had spoilers
At the end of the scene with Thane and Kolyat, is there any extra dialouge if you romanced him?

Yes. They go into stuff about the ocean or birds or something and right before Thane croaks Sheps goes "That's a deep prayer for random people on Earth" then Kolyat goes "Those were not for Earth, Commander, those prayers were for you". and Sheps goes "Oh, Thane..." then Thane dies and I cried.

The only differences during that scene is that Thane's dialog at the beginning varies slightly, he calls her 'siha' instead of Shepard, and she tells him she will 'meet him across the sea'. Other than that, everything is exactly the same as if he wasn't romanced. There is no mention of him afterwards, Shepard does not get an extra dialog with Kolyat or shows any sign of grieving, and Kaidan, Liara and Samantha's romances open up.

actually there is really no difference between the two. there is a lot of problems concerning the Thane romance, that being one of them.

You'd think there would be more differences with a Shep who had romanced Thane...yet there are not. You can see for yourself if you'd like.

Love happens, despite all odds. Better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all.

I'm one of those pissed of fan girls.
The last thing I need is a video game company trying to teaching me a life lesson.

Never romanced Than myself since my only femshep decided to wait for Kaidan but I have seen that Thane does get some extra lines if romanced.

Granted not many since he dies but I think it was very well done. We find out that he is near the end the first time we talk to him in ME2 so his death should not be very shocking. He even says himself he has out lasted the doctors projections by 6 months by ME3 so the fact he dies form wounds he got saving someone was great.

Better then seeing a sick man slowly die unable to help himself in anyway.

His death and romance is actually pretty all right. Could use more lines, but the spirit's there. And I could ALWAYS use more lines.

The aftermath is pretty deplorable, though. No chance for Shepard to grieve or discuss it, one Garrus line that may refer to whoever got Virimire'd, no achievement, no codex entry, and no Thane-specific content. It makes stabbing Kai Leng in the end GLORIOUS. There, there's my serious non-glib response. Thane was one of the strongest romances in 2, partially because he was dying. The brevity of his content in 3 is a shame, but what's there is good. The only real kicker is the same one friends of Thane face -- no one notices. At all. But it's still Thane and it's still a glorious tragic love with a really pretty, incredibly voiced, spiritual, sexy assassin.

You just have to headcanon almost everything. (You're damn right something happened after that fade to black. YES, she sent messages to him a lot from the Normandy. Yes, they went out for dinner a few times. Yes, she worried about his health and fretted. And yes, after he died, she did do some actual crying before pulling her act together to save his boy. >:[)

There's really no reason to resurrect this thread.  All the information about the incongruencies between "ME2 Thane" and "ME3 Thane" are in the 2 major Thane threads in this forum.

None necessary :]  It's just been talked about quite a bit in the main Thane threads, so if anyone really wants to know what happens in the Thane romance in ME2/ME3, then those 2 threads are the place to go for information.

Not only that, but Thane-romancers got access to that letter in Mass Effect 2 so all Femsheps got was recycled content over a ******-poor and obviously hastily sewn-together set of conversations.

So really NOTHING results from a femshep/Thane romance except a sign that says:

RIGHT THIS WAY TO KAIDAN.

What results in FemShep romances all most across the board is ME3 being made by a bunch Dicks literally dick brains is what was put into ME3, it's like a bunch of chauvinistic jack@sses made ME3.

Look at the Female LIs out there Garrus, opps he's the dude that dudes like the dude that's had their backs since day one. Kaidan ohh S/S option. Liara gets same as dudes.

Samantha bhahaha that sorry what? BHlHAHAHAHA that shower scene is even discresptful to teenage boys fantasies.

Thane Who? Jacob Taylor cheats no one liked him. FemShep also is forced into being in the wrong if she cheated on Kiadan, DudeShep isn't put here with Ash. Just FemShep with Kaidan.

FemShep giant slap in the face to female gamers everywhere.

Only because it was only about 2 weeks ago, I give you the following LINK.  Check for my username about a third of the way down the page.  (oh, and sorry in advance.  It was not refined at the time I posted it.  And this is about the (well, too many times to count) time it has been referenced in both Thane threads.  Enjoy.Image IPB

LOL, Thane died a happy man. Kolyat just stood there and watched his father die.

In all seriousness, I'm conflicted about the Thane romance from what I've seen on Youtube. There's no real difference between regular, friendly Thane compared to romanced, in love Thane. And the "romance scene" was a joke, I don't know what Thane's idea of "private" was but that certainly wasn't mine.

I think they forgot about Thane romance until it was too late to do something decent.
