Like most people's reactions to the ending, I feel the entire script has done nothing but disappoint. It has left the Mass Effect fan in me from the first two games with a sense of unfulfillment as the entire game disregards my choices to force me into a single plothole filled narrative which the writers created for themselves, rather than for the player and the trilogy.

I have great difficulty in replaying Mass Effect 1 and 2 knowing that Mass Effect 3's entire experience lies waiting, what's the point of playing the two original games if that's what I'm forced to look foward to? The game promised choices would have impact and the like, yet all that changes is a line of dialogue and an edited asset value which does absolutely nothing. That's probably more offensive than a different colour.

I'd gladly pay 59.99 or more for a completely remade storyline, one which involves the promises which the series seeked to achieve. It's hurtful to have experience the entire game only to reach the end and see the entire narrative crash and burn like the child from the intro.

My pro-Human Cerberus Operative Shepard demands satisfaction, just like all other Shepards who've been removed in order to create the writer's Shepard in ME3.

Hold the line.

What makes it even worse is that assets are pretty mechanically balanced. You usually get near the same either way. Did this? 100 assets; feel good about it. Never did it? 95 assets; don't care about it.

I have to overlook the overall downhill trend, though, because the ending is just a straight drop down. It's probably still falling, a week or more after I "finished" the game, but I can't bear to look.

I don't think anything like this is ever going to happen, but there would be a lot interesting possibilites for something set outside of the reaper business. I'd want conspiracy, betrayals, brutal galatic politics, the ability to truly work with Cerberus, etc.

Unrealistic goals, Unrealistic sense of how much work goes in a game.
The Take Mass Effect Back movement is specifically about the ending, most liked the story, if not almost everyone. Unlike Take Mass Effect Back, you are in a tiny minority so I don't know what yup wanted to achieve by posting this, is this a troll thread or just a weak attempt?

What's wrong? What makes my claim unreasonable? I simply demand what everybody else is demanding regarding the endings, BioWare to uphold their promises.

Why not? If the "fans" can protest enough to get the endings changed, why not take the next step and have them redo the entire game to the meet expectations.

Honestly don't think I'd pay BioWare any more money. I'm feeling incredibly disenfranchised right now. I've been following the series since 2006.

The overall story should have been written down before the first game was even finished. They should have had a guideline for what they were writing. Now, going back and thinking about Mass Effect 1, it's obvious that different writers had different ideas about where the series was going, and all of them were completely ignored when the writing for Mass Effect 2 began...and all of that was thrown out the window again when Mass Effect 3 came around.

I was under the impression that most people loved the overall game barring the endings of course.

only the endings of the game are the main issue, no need to reboot the whole game.

Of course! Why didn't I think of this before?! We already paid for a terrible 0/10 game, right? Why should we force Bioware to remake the entire game for free?

Somewhere in a smoky room the executives are weighing their options.  They can cash in on the brand, and fix nothing, or make a long term investment by fixing the game and repairing the image.

Demands to redo the whole thing will not be financially acceptable for them, and will get you nothing.  They will just write you off as a customer.

Just because you liked the plot doesn't mean the problems with them aren't apparent, they still don't fit with their promises.

Yeah, waiting another 1-2 years for a remade game that costs me an additional $60 wouldn't be at all disappointing. Also the reduced number of sales from pissed off fans would reduce the economics of the situation.

Can't say I'm a fan.

You have to admit it's the conversation we'd be having if the ending hadn't weighted the scales, although not in this same context.

Same as is had with every new BioWare game. RPG less. Action more.

Although "Hold the line." is freaking hilarious to read next to that user picture. :-)

First game was art, a bit glitchy and some odd mechanics but art
Second games was excellent, less glitches much better mechanics
Third game potentially the best one...but as we all know the ending (I say ending cos changes in colour and some minor graphical differences do no constitute endings) is complete nonsense.

I want my Jacobmancer femshep who's BFF with Morinth to receive some damn satisfaction too. Really pissed me the F off that Jacob was turned into a stereotypical deadbeat and Morinth into a renamed generic Banshee while the Garrus and Tali fans get all the special treatment.

"Choices matter" my ass.
