ME2 = complete sweaty palms the whole from the derelict reaper onwards. Great fun. The tension just builds and builds and you think you're on an epic journey

ME1 = similar, but different. Ilos and Vigil: race against time.

ME3 = earth battle is hard but flat. Depressing ending!

It's like 2 should have been 3 and 3 should have been 2! :)

Have to say though, the sheer lack of numbers in ME3 gets my goat the most. Each level just feels ***empty*** ... e.g. the rescue scientists mission, at the end all those Cerebus troops... why wasn't I allow to mow my way through similar numbers? Now, that would have been fun!

I liked the 3 of them in different aspects, I played ME 1 and it was the first game of its kind I had `played and it literally blew my mind.I didnt mind the inventory nor the mako missions or the same bunker missions all the time. With ME2 it was just the same I guess, I enjoyed cerberus, the plot although I would have enjoyed more reaper story development, charachters were great...I believe Jacob was the only one I hated and never chose, just did hos missions all the time for completion, so I really didn't miss him.
ME3 had some great action, some very emotional moments, some improved RPG elements like weap custom. and branching powers but lacked dialogue in comparison to both previous titles and I felt some of the charachters of ME2 were just snuffed like chickens to fill plot and give ending in some way, im not going to mention who or when for spoilers but you get the idea.

The funny thing is I seem to remember a lot of people here bashed ME2 and praised ME1 and these people now are praising ME2 just because they felt ME3s endings were weak, which they were I know, I just feel it's a bit hypocritical to go from "ME2 sucked" to "ME2 was Awsomeeee"

I prefer ME2. The only thing I don't like is that your VS isn't with you.

Moving around the normandy and interacting with each other means little to nothing when we're talking story. It's a coding/programing thing, not story.

ok i guss i need to add on this think of  Leigon and Mordin and grunt if none of those scenes made ya cry then ur a true man bro =P wht im saying is tht the story was perfect until the ending came and the romances are alot better no more dry ### well for atleast 1 character =P and you can choose on which civilizations live or dies the choices u made do have an impact on the overall journey of the game well till the ending comes

See the thing is, that even if the ending had been good people like you would still find something to complain about, it's the way this works.Even if it had more dialogue choices, and it had better sidemissions you would still find something that disappointed you and you'd be here with a million more complaining about that, it happened in ME1 and ME2  and of course ME3, which I believe did have major issues, but then again I liked the idoctrinated Idea and feel that's the way they're going to go,i dont agree with a paid ending dlc but let's face it , if it comes it won't be free.
I am sad but i still have a little faith and I believe that perhaps things will change and if they dont, well it's not the end of the world, i will move on with a lesson learnt.

ME3 had too much fan pandering... Udina, Cerberus, unpopular characters getting completely sidelined... it nearly killed the integrity of the story for me ;_;

story: ME1 was best. ME2 + ME3 both made no sense to me. (main plot, that is)
characters: ME2 had more time to develop them. ME3 had some amazing moments, though. ME1
gameplay: ME2 = ME3 knife and barrel roll excluded. ME1 was way too unbalanced
ME2 had minigames and loyalty, but ME3 had War assets and gunturrets.
Endings: ME1 big damn heroes > ME2 Human Reaper (??) > ME3 worst ending ever produced

I liked the sidemissions/loyalty quests in ME2, and thought they gave the game a much more "open" feel to it.  But the main story mission was terrible compared to ME3.  The ending, however, also is better in ME2 (though ME1's was the best of the series, IMO).

If you could combine ME3's story, with ME2's sidequests, and ME1's ending (you know, one that makes sense), you'd have had the perfect end to the trilogy.  Instead, you had arguably the best main story, but the worst sidequests and ending in ME3.

I actually did not dig ME2
to much recruiting party members and helping them little to no campaign

ME2 is probably the best in the series. ME1 for it's overall story. ME2 for it's characters and gameplay. ME3 is a good game...but they dropped the ball so badly at the end, that it puts me off it replaying it

ME2 is better in so may ways - heres a few:

Loads of awesome squadmates
Heavy weapons on you at all times
Film grain
Fading HUD - in ME3 that thing is permanent and yuck
Could holster your weapons
An ending that felt complete
No creepy eavesdrop quests
An import feature that worked

Im sure there are more reasons...

Mass Effect 2 was better slightly purely because the Illusive Man actually helped. Cerberus actually completed a goal without ****ing up or being a bad guy. TIM's methods were questionable, but i agreed with them and i would of done the same.

Mass effect 1 to me was the best one by far ,part 2 had better gameplay no doubt ,part 3 lacked alot of things ,and is the buggiest game of the bunch. It had the worst ending it lacked alot of the dialogue wheel options. Choices were meaningless. Hmmmm theres more things i can think of but ill end it there.

I liked ME3 but something just did not feel right about it I cannot exactly say what it was but i do not know i may be idealizing ME1 as i played it quite some time ago. It is just they always seem to do something right in one part of trilogy and then break it in the next one and vice versa.

I'm sure there's people that like 1 the best, or 2 the best.

ME 3 overall is a much better game than it's predecessors.

ME 1 still is my favorite. Hey Bioware, can we get a texture/player/resolution pack to make ME 1 look like 2 & 3? It's the least you can do for anti climax ME 3 ending.
