ME2 is most definitely better and my favorite of the series. The story, the characters, the suicide mission. Everything felt whole, fleshed out, there was thought behind it. To me, it felt like a complete finished product from beginning to end.
ME1 was really enjoyable as well. Heck, I played both ME1 and ME2 well into the double digit numbers and even back to back!
ME3 ... I haven't even made it through my second playthrough.

ME1 was the best, then it started going downhill from there. ME2 was stripped, and ME3 is rushed.

ME2 is better in some ways, and ME3 in others. I perfer the inventory and weapon systems of ME3, but like the character developpement.of ME2, where you had an actual conversation after every mission. I still think the Suicide mission is the best in the series, but the overall plot of ME3, especially the ending (exluding the ''ending''). Graphics go to ME3. Animations to ME2. Sound can be given to ME3 without question

ME2 was amazing. Really good. I wouldn't say it is better than ME3 but...the ending is better lol. My opinion.

I think ME1 was the best out of all 3.
ME1 had sooo many places you could visit, the Citadel was HUGE, you could drive the Mako on planets and even get out on foot if you wanted to. There were more thresher maws to fight too. Not to mention, leveling up and the things you could pick from, lots of options. ME1 even had special Spectre abilities. ME2 and 3 are great, but ME1 still stands as my favorite from the trilogy.

I like ME the best then ME2 (but they are close) then ME3 . . . Overall, I like the feel, story and the RPG of ME and the Graphics and gameplay of ME2. I like both the endings for ME and ME2. I replayed these games a lot. ME3 on the other hand, felt rushed during the game with no real side quests other than scanning (and even that meant nothing in the end!). I would have liked longer "meet the squad from ME2" quests. I felt like I just got all these guns and armor and I did not use them much other than the main quest. We will not mention the ending . . . replay of ME3 is well, not very high on my list . . .

ME2 was the best game in the series. I fell in love with all the characters and their stories and the only reason I love mE3 in spite of the abortion ending that makes all my Shepards into mass murderers is because of how well they integrated the cast of ME2 into the overall story of ME3 they were not just cameos for cameos sake the cameos made sense and really fit in with the story and the universe. Without ME2 ME3 would be mediocre until the shtcan endings. With ME2 ME3 is one of the best games I ever played... up until the last 3 minutes.

ME2 had an ending that didn't suck, (literally suck) the life out of you. ME1 as well.

I guess I have a hard time seeing as ME1 and ME2 being better, even though I adore both.... in ME3 Shepard and many of the characters were so much more alive.. there was genuine emotion in the voice acting of so many characters.... many heart-felt moments and fully realized friendships that were never developed properly in ME1 or ME2 ...
I speak purely of the emotional experience, not the gameplay or rpg aspects (though I found the gameplay best in ME3)... ending or other issues aside, all the key characters involved so much more emotional impact this time around... particularly Shepard herself / himself.
I loved ME1 and ME2 immensely but ME3 to me is most memorable because many of the characters I have grown to care for finally felt fully realiized and genuine... it's the emotional experience to me that mattered, not the plot or story or how guns worked when you shot them, etc.
But that's just me.

ME1 was better, ME2 was better. First game makes the money, second game polishes it up, third game ruins everything.
Happens a lot, the third game is almost always the weakest in a trilogy. It's some kind of law.

I like ME3 for the return to the good old days of mods and weapon upgrades while keeping the better game play of two. It's just a shame it didn't get the depth of story that ME1 had as well.

I'll have to replay ME2 to judge this. When I played ME1 after finishing ME2 I was shocked by how much worse ME1 was.

What? There is a ME3? Really? I am still waiting for that game. I hope there will be bigger locations, new interesting Squadmates, more intensive relationships, exciting and different sidequests and I hope for that large battles where you feel like you are in a big war. I heard you have to recruit the whole galaxy so there should be a battlefield. Maybe there are streetfights in earth with some BADASS BACKGROUND MUSIC! And I hope that my decisions from ME2 will make differences in ME3.
/irony off
ME2 was superior to ME3, the suicide mission was simply epic and I fell in love with the music right as it started. London? Really there was no music and no helping soldiers... A sidequest map like all the others.
ME3 did some good things. A bit customization came back and the citadelle grew a bit and graphics got updated. Did I miss anything? Awh yes. Ashley is hawt!
ME2 felt much better. The story was a little bit off from the mainstory in 1 and 3 but in itself it was very good. You had not that big plotholes like in ME3. Often I thought "what am I doing here? This isn't supposed to be this way." or "Illusive Man I want to be on your side but I can only answer with 'You're a Maniac' or 'Go to Hell!' I hope you like being called a maniac and we will be friends."
If BioWare wants to make this game awesome then they should redo the major part of the game. But I don't want them to make me a new game... So just please rework everything after the cerberus base. That would make it acceptable...

Part two of a trilogy is usually the best of the series. The Godfather 2 and Star Wars 2 (ep 5) are the best of the series to name a couple.
I don't think I will play ME3 as often as I played ME2. By the Goddess, did I love that game

Even with the baby reaper ending and Jacobs sex-talk, ME2 was the best in the series, hands down...

ME2 > ME1 > ME3
ME3 felt to short in comparison to the previous games combined with the worst ending i've ever seen. I played through mass effect 2 a hell of alot of times building up my saves for ME3, despite the mass effect 3 ending being a huge dissapointment i still enjoyed building the saves in ME2 even if they were ultimately for nothing.
