Basically the title says it all, :?

noticed this in ME2 when it came out (eg. when at the Cerberus Lab at the beginning of ME2, watch those Mechs shadows through the wall) and was really annoyed when I saw it was still an issue in ME3 and even worse more prominently for some reason. <_<

Always thought it's so obvious there is no way they don't know about this or any of the players missing it (why I never posted about it before and guess most ppl thought the same) but I guess we really do have to rally the galaxy in Shepards spirit to force em to finally fix this.

Ok, so let's make it happen! :alien:

If we don't get their attention this month chances are it's not going to get fixed ever.

I don't have any screenshots right now, might add some later. If someone happens to have some at hand be my guest!

Please post if you support this motion!

Seems to be an Unreal Engine issue:

Didn't notice shadows going through walls, never looked for that happening though. I'll see if I can spot it later tonight ;)

You mean that graphical bug that's been around since ME1 came out? I'm so used to it by now that I barely acknowledge its presence!

I have a suspicion that it's an Unreal Engine problem, not a specific game problem, but who knows?

I couldn't remember if it was there in ME1 just was certain of ME2 and ME3,... but yeah if it was around in ME1 that sure feels lazy.

Even if it would be an unreal engine issue I bet they'd have long come up with a fix for it, so that can't be an excuse. It even is in the ME3 ending. Also I never noticed this in other unreal engine games.

It's an Unreal 3 Engine problem. Noticed similar graphical glitches in other games using the engine.
They are rare but they do manifest sometimes. Even on my Xbox 360 with the same games.
Along with the low texture glitch. Low textures just before they adjust to the normal/ high textures.
Nothing to do about but hope for an engine patch, if that's possible. Seems to be a tough problem.
You can always try to tweak your settings on your pc.

Yeah noticed it in Batman Arkham City as well, also here is a report from another game: http://blacklight-fo...ad.php?t=303061 but there must be a way this can be solved.

If we keep in mind how many workarounds in the Unreal Engine config entries stayed around even tho they weren't needed anymore this and frequent stutter issues probably are not surprising,... but it feels really lazy on a tech lvl of Epic and every developer using the engine,... wouldn't want to invest in their Unreal4 Engine and much rather take a good look at Cryteks work.

They seem to solve things and not work around them and even worse keep workarounds around forever,...
yep also the texture streaming/ lod system is still terribly bad. Shame they get away with that.
