I think the main difference between the "haters" and the "likers" is this;
"Ending likers" just play the game for the action. No time to think about stuff, just play through and go back to #insert any COD-title here".
"Ending haters" reflect on what they are experiencing, read the codex, play the game with lore in mind. "Ending haters" take a part in the wonderful world.

Thats what I think, anyway.

Hold the line!

PS. I have been a huge Bioware fan and I really enjoy the ME series. But if this isn't fixed I really don't think I'll buy more Bioware titles... Tragic really.

Uh...the ending actually requires thought and reflection, not a typical CoD fan trait.  Not a typical game requirement either, which is why it seems a lot of people don't like it.

I understand why people are so upset about it, but I'm a longtime, diehard ME fan, and I loved the ending.  If everyone would actually take some time to reflect on the ending and what it means, maybe there would be some more positive discussion around here.

I don't understand it either. They go on about how "artistic" or "thought-provoking" it is, but they never expound on it. I sometimes wonder if it's people being contrary just to be contrary.

Honestly, I can't believe anyone who loves the Mass Effect series and has played through Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 could be okay with this.

It's called being a Hipster. Hipsters like things that aren't cool, They like them before it's cool to like them, a lot of them would probably hate the ending just to be cool, if it was the perefect ending.

I've been seeing a lot of people like the endings of Mass effect 3. I have to wonder though, are they really big fans of the series or have they just picked up the latest one and put "action mode" or whatever on. Because the ending makes no sense... at all, and goes against the lore established by previous mass effect games and dlc. Are these people just ****s, or simply ignorant? Every time they say they like the ending they never give a reason why. Is it the fact that it was ripped straight from Deus Ex 1. Or the fact that it creates 10 plotholes, or the fact that it goes against the whole purpose of the series where you collect forces to stop the Reapers only to make the collection of those forces pointless since we all get 98% the same ending.

I am seriously so confused, how can people be so stupid? Have they not finished the game?

EDIT: I'm wondering if all the people who finished the game first were mostly series fans, whereas now we are seeing a bunch of first time fans finishing the game weeks later?

I liked the ending.
I have played all three games, started 2007.
I have invested hundreds of hours in the series over multiple Shepards.
I am not stupid because I don't share your opinion.
Thinking I am stupid for not sharing your opinion makes you look ignorant.
You didn't like the ending, what gives you the right to say my opinion is wrong?
My hypothesis of the ending (copy/paste from another thread I wrote it in), please see below:

I don't like the ending NOT because Shepard dies and becomes a martyr or the whole universe might be dead. Or the idea that he singlehandedly removed all diversity of species. NO. I'm fine with death and destruction. I don't like it because of how it was shown? How it was told...and yeah...space magic. And I don't want to imagine things. I don't want to sit there and think: He is dead. Nope, he is not. Yeah, he is. Nope, he is not...etc. Admit...it's kind of frustrating. I want to know what happened to everyone in canonical way. I don’t want to write/read fanfics. I want to see at least some results of my choices.

Even though I dislike the endings (chiefly for a lack of closure) I do like your interpretation.  I don't think there's any reason for people to be flaming each other.  That's not cool.  This shouldn't be about who is "right" or "wrong".  There are no Official Rules of Art Appreciation.

Sadly, I've read the next 10 pages since I posted and not only was I flamed, despite being 75% in the "new ending" camp, many, many other posters who "liked" the ending were also flamed, called stupid, etc.

There's a warning at the top of the page to act civil, or face moderation. I've seen none of either.

... there are NO logical and rational reason to like the ending; only emo ones.

Just finished the game, and the ending wasn't as horrible as I was lead to believe by the internet hive-mind.
It would have been nice to have a proper epilogue explaining the fates of you, your companions, and the galactic community and the ramifications of your choice.
As it is, they left it wide open for more DLC or another ME game.

Because people who support the endings each make their own thread whereas people who hate them usually post in existing threads.
