G'day Folks,
I'm trying to add a new M2DA to the game to allow other to customise a new add-in I'm wotking on. I created my worksheet, but I think I need to get an ID assigned so I created a M2DA_base extension. I think I need an ID since the GetM2DA* functions use an int index to determine which M2DA to reference.
I don't want to create a replacement 2DA_base.gda since I'm trying to keep the add-in as compatible as possible with others.
My new 2da is called BagOfBeansCritters.xls. Its worksheet is BOBCritters.
The M2DA_base update is named M2DA_baseBagOfBeans.xls and the worksheet is M2DA_baseBOBCritters. It contains 3 rows in M2DA_base format (row 1 = titles, row 2 = types, row 3 = data). Rows 1 and 2 came from M2DA_base directly.
I run the ExcelProcessor and get a success confirmation, but no GDA file appears.
Is it a silly mistake (I make lots of those!) or is this harder than it appears?
M2DA_Base isn't a M2DA?

It should be working.
Are you using Open Office by any chance? I've had some problems getting Excel Processor.exe to work properly with Open Office sometimes.
One trick I've found is to copy a worksheet from an existing 2da (such as placeable_types from placeables.xls) and past it into your new file. Exporting then works, but you need to remove the extra .gda file.
