I saw this on the Demand a Better Ending Facebook group. Someone named Marauder Shields posted it. Really no way to prove it's true but I thought it was worth posting here.

"ME3 fans please read: So I just made this Facebook name to post this
because I was afraid if I used my BSN/Origin name to post it on the
forums I'd get banned from all my games. If someone here posts on the
Bioware forums, please post this over there.

I have a close friend who works not with Bioware but with a third party that helps with
their public relations/fan community management. This friend
told me that they are being instructed to pose as fans on the Bioware
forums saying that they love the ending, love the game and don't want
anything changed etc. Obviously, the intent is to drown out the
negativity from most of us who actually hated the endings.

I can't confirm/prove any of this obviously since I've sworn not to reveal
anything further about it since this friend would rather not lose
his/her job. Hearing this just really ticked me off, and I had to tell
people."

Seems unlikely...but who really knows at this point?

Doesn't surprise me one bit...they've done it before, who's to say they won't do it again?

I think anyone who didn't assume this was happening was naive.

Probably not true. And even if it is they're not doing a particularly great job of drowning out the people who are unsatisfied with the ending.

I wouldn't put it past them. I already had suspicions days ago about certain people here who rabidly defend the endings and throw out insults at people who hate the ending. Others I noticed demean and run down the movement. I cannot say for certain but I am suspicious of every single poster who defends the ending without addressing the plothole issues as well as those who just jump into "I LOVE ENDING" threads to play cheerleader.

When did they do it before?

Dunno, but I wouldn't be surprised. Remember that Bioware employee caught reviewing DA2 on metacritic?

Very naive if you think this isn't happening anyway

I'm not surprised. There have been a few people posting on the boards I've suspected of astroturfing, especially the people who were opposing the boycott by claiming we were "depriving others of enjoyment."

After lying to us, having made the worst ending in video game history and ruined their reputation permanently - what do they have to lose?

Bioware has allready shown they have no shame, integrity or honor. Why would this be a "new low"?

Lol, Marauder Shields.

It wasn't Deepthroat that exposed Watergate, it was he.

I wouldn't be shocked. I mean I doubt this is legitimate insider information, but you'd have to be kind of naive to think they wouldn't do something like that.

It's called Astroturfing.

If people really liked the ending, good for them. I'm glad at least someone found closure and satisfaction. We're all different and some people really will genuinely like how Mass Effect came to an end.

Using plants to "like" the game so that the company can point to them and say "see?!" is perhaps a possibility, but in that case, let's see them put up a charity drive and earn money for sick kids to prove their point. Yea, didn't think so.

have you heard of Penny Posters? it's people who sign on during the work shift and are paid a few cents to post a positive post. Normally these people don't speak the best english, (Because 18c a post isn't gonna do all that much, except for someone really hurting) and will pretty much seem super uneducated on the subject.

The more you know.

Sounds like paranoia to me. Going this route will eventually lead to two fans sitting outside in the snow, between them a fire, waiting for a ride home.

Probably not true. It's fairly pointless seeding their own forums when they are getting kicked to death on places like Amazon.

Not going to work because most of the posts I have seen stating they like the ending do not provide convincing reasons why it's good/why I should make peace with it.

I wouldn't jumt at everybody who posts a positive review right now, but it seems entirely likely. I personally used to have a job when I had to write 50 forum entries a week that would be posted from different accounts by my employer to keep a forum alive. Different topics, different style, different "narrator", that was the requirement.
And BSN is not some random forum, either, it's the meeting point for thousands and the mirror of out opinion. So I personally think that this approach by the company is not only likely but actually to be expected.
My opinion is - once again - not in any way an invitation to start attacking anyone.

Seems like a conspiracy theory... but then again it is something plausible.
