WTF?

Screw that ****, I like the endings and Bioware isn't paying me squat.

Go grab your tinfoil hats you crazy people.

You should go talk to Bioware, imagine how much you could be getting payed.

I already assumed they were doing that.

That is like one of the easiest ways to calm down forums Game companies employ this tactic all the time.

I think these conspiracy theory threads are going to do more harm to "the cause" than any of the I-liked-the-ending threads ever could.

I saw this on the Demand a Better Ending Facebook group. Someone named Marauder Shields posted it. Really no way to prove it's true but I thought it was worth posting here.

"ME3 fans please read: So I just made this Facebook name to post this
because I was afraid if I used my BSN/Origin name to post it on the
forums I'd get banned from all my games. If someone here posts on the
Bioware forums, please post this over there.

I have a close friend who works not with Bioware but with a third party that helps with
their public relations/fan community management. This friend
told me that they are being instructed to pose as fans on the Bioware
forums saying that they love the ending, love the game and don't want
anything changed etc. Obviously, the intent is to drown out the
negativity from most of us who actually hated the endings.

I can't confirm/prove any of this obviously since I've sworn not to reveal
anything further about it since this friend would rather not lose
his/her job. Hearing this just really ticked me off, and I had to tell
people."

Seems unlikely...but who really knows at this point?

And you went and posted it, what a moron you are! First of all, if there are people who love the ending, let em love it. We are going to hold the line.
But if we are going to think there are traitors among our community, that is going to make cracks in our line.

Hence, why people who love the ending should have their right to vocalise their love and make themselv heard, we are going to hold the line and speak even louder.

This kind of stuff is done by any company that has the cash to pay a few people to 'spread their message'. Political campaign do this, corporations do this, book/magazine publications do this. There are entire firms that specialize in helping to spearhead internet consensus campaigns.

Are some of you actually surprised that this happenes?

Let me just say this again. I'm being totally serious.

I love the game.

I love the ending.

I don't want anything changed.

I am not an employee of BioWare, nor a third party PR firm. I do not think the ending is perfect, but I enjoyed it nonetheless... and plan on playing all 3 start to finish again once they fix the face import and release some DLC (too many late nights since ME3 came out, need a breather)

Wouldnt surprise me either, yet I dont think it's true.

What would they even think to achieve ? 50k+ people already stated they HATED the ending. So they're going to create 200 new accounts, switch account everytime they post a comment, in the hope 50k+ people are going to change their mind ?

THIS IS MADNESS

Believe what you want, but don't hate on BioWare for something you think they're doing. Also, whether or not it's true, there are going to be people that like the ending that aren't paid off by BioWare. (and no, I don't like the endings)

Besides, what if this thread was created by BioWare as a distraction from discussing the ending? /s

I think this sort of thing is just a little silly. If we start throwing around conspiracy theories, who's going to take the movement seriously. This friend of a friend of a friend stuff is just a little far fetched anyway. Rather than be distracted by wild theories about EA's PR tactics, let's just keep doing what we have been.

We need to stay on focus. The Mass Effect universe and the Shepherd Saga need closure and an ending that does the entire series justice.

I don't think that liking the endings is a sign of a mole. Some people will like the ending. If they sold 1 million copies, the odds of it being panned by every player are remote. But I'd be willing to believe that the comments that seem ambiguously trollish are being funded to try to save EA a few bucks.

Fortunately, they are easy enough to deal with. Take the high road for long enough, and the people trying to make you look the fool will find themselves in that role. Don't sink to the levels of the trolls and moles.

Hold the line.

When did they do it before?

For Dragon Age 2, on both Metacritic and on here. They got caught and called out on it too - it became so obvious that a couple of web comics made fun of it.

Wow, that is pretty low but it also shows that we are getting to them as well. Nice to know these things and if it's true then thanks to the person who went out of their way to warn us.
