I saw this on the Demand a Better Ending Facebook group. Someone named Marauder Shields posted it. Really no way to prove it's true but I thought it was worth posting here.

"ME3 fans please read: So I just made this Facebook name to post this
because I was afraid if I used my BSN/Origin name to post it on the
forums I'd get banned from all my games. If someone here posts on the
Bioware forums, please post this over there.

I have a close friend who works not with Bioware but with a third party that helps with
their public relations/fan community management. This friend
told me that they are being instructed to pose as fans on the Bioware
forums saying that they love the ending, love the game and don't want
anything changed etc. Obviously, the intent is to drown out the
negativity from most of us who actually hated the endings.

I can't confirm/prove any of this obviously since I've sworn not to reveal
anything further about it since this friend would rather not lose
his/her job. Hearing this just really ticked me off, and I had to tell
people."

Seems unlikely...but who really knows at this point?

Actually, that's a very common business practice. Almost every major corporation does it when they release new products.

Nobody is saying everyone who likes the ending is paid off...just that it's possible a very small minority are.

Personally, I still have some faith in Bioware so I don't buy it. But like I said...who knows.

This is probably true, but there's not a lot we can do about it. The worst thing we can do is to start accusing anyone defending the ending for being paid stooges, even if it's possible some of them really are. Just keep calm and be civil to everyone, try not to feed the obvious trolls.

OP, change the title of this thread and add that link from the escapist (when they did it with DA2) to raise the awareness!

Oh my god.

WHO CARES.

Even if they did, its not as if they are going to affect ONE thing.

Before you know it, anyone who posts one positive thing, is going to be a bioware person in disguise.

Or maybe those people with the retake mass effect movement, you know...the ones with super nice etiquette, asking everyone else to be civil towards others and the employee's are really being paid by bioware or are bioware people deluding us all into acting like civil human beings.

oh the humanity.

Doesn't surprise me one bit...they've done it before, who's to say they won't do it again?

When did they do it before?

Three words: Metacritic user scores.

Change title to what? Current one seems accurate plus there's no proof they actually did this with ME3.

I don't think all of the "I like it" posts are plants, but it wouldn't surprise me if there aren't a few who are.

oh the humanity.

I see more people in the Retake movement asking others to be civil and kind than I do people who are pro-ending doing so.

This doesn't surprise me at all. It's one of the double-edged sword aspects of Internet anonymity. The practice has been caught in the past and if we can prove it here...

In all fairness, if one of their employees did give his own rating on Metacritic, I don't see what the problem is. If it was a single occurence it is relatively unlikely that he was paid to do that, no ;)? Maybe he was working in another department and had nothing to do with the devoplement of DA2? It is kind of a stretch to assume they're basically paying people to flood their own forums...

I'd be shocked it they didn't have plants on here. It saves them from having to get more mods as they can report stuff and try and blend in not to mention talk down to the rest of us. They're probably employees of the media outlets they've paid off.

Just remember, don't start attacking the supporters regardless of whether they are BW/PR or just fans who liked it. It will make the rest of us look bad and throw the Retake movement into disrepute.

They may be dipsticks but ignoring them is the best way to deal with them at the moment.

The old paid shill argument is so overused and almost guaranteed to be false. Its a common thing people say to some how diminish other peoples opinions that don't agree with theirs.

Someone could just as easily claim, that the entire "retake" movement is nothing more than paid shills for competitors trying to ruin Bioware.

I'm not sure I buy it. Then again, if it proved to be true (which would be almost impossible) I wouldn't be shocked either. This situation is rather unlike anything I've experienced before, so I'm keeping all possibilities open

There are actual consumers who liked the ending... but yes, absolutely, there will be false-flag posters.

It's the internet, after all.

Well except that would be totally ridiculous given the large scale of the retake movement compared to the minority that actually like the endings and are vocal about it.

Oh come on!
Are you not fed up with conspiracy theories yet?
What next? The CEO of BW is buying 1 million copies to ensure the sales are high? Really.

The person who posted it somewhere else didn't have the guts to troll here. That person took you for fools, don't give him the fun of being one.

Try using common sense and logics.
Why would BW do that? What would BW gain?
Basically nothing.
Face it: some people hate the ending, some people love it. So what?
The goal of BW is to measure actual and representative opinion of the target group. If they fake it, it will not help their sales later on. Their goal is to know what players are displeased about and how far they take that displeasure. I refrase: their interest is not to shut up their customers, but to measure their response.

If BW wanted people to shut up, they would just close the 50001st thread saying they hate the ending and ban people from the forum. Or make an official stand saying that topic is not welcome here. Or just make an official standing on: this is how it is, deal with it.

I am immensely disappointed by people making fake accusations. It takes the power from those who make valid accusations, as it makes everything appear a huge paranoid complaint. Valid arguments and opinions get lost in that surrounding. Which really is such a shame.
