I am a Bioware plant, in actuality.

I had you confused with all my anti-ending tirades, didn't I?

It isn't an unheard of tactic but what does it gain? and friend of a friend who knows someone who knows someone stories are hard to believe.

If only they paid those plants to assimilate into the community and actually take peoples feedback, noting down the most promising and interesting ideas, and implementing them!

It seems like EA had a choice. But they chose renegade.

Someone could just as easily claim, that the entire "retake" movement is nothing more than paid shills for competitors trying to ruin Bioware.

Well except that would be totally ridiculous given the large scale of the retake movement compared to the minority that actually like the endings and are vocal about it.

It is just as ridiculous to say that BW pays people to pretend they are fans liking the game.
When there are more then one options on what to think, pick the easiest and most logical.
a) BW conspires to pay people to go undercover and rouse people against a movement that wants to change the ending
B) some people like the ending.

BW does pay people to tell people the game is good. It is called marketing department.

Someone inevitably suggests the same type of thing is going on for every contentious topic on every public forum ever.

And let me guess, anybody who defends the ending or doesn't immediately jump on the demand a new ending bandwagon is a plant?

Really, it does sound more like a way to discredit the people who aren't on the rage wagon.
Let the accusations begin.

I saw this on the Demand a Better Ending Facebook group. Someone named Marauder Shields posted it. Really no way to prove it's true but I thought it was worth posting here.

"ME3 fans please read: So I just made this Facebook name to post this
because I was afraid if I used my BSN/Origin name to post it on the
forums I'd get banned from all my games. If someone here posts on the
Bioware forums, please post this over there.

I have a close friend who works not with Bioware but with a third party that helps with
their public relations/fan community management. This friend
told me that they are being instructed to pose as fans on the Bioware
forums saying that they love the ending, love the game and don't want
anything changed etc. Obviously, the intent is to drown out the
negativity from most of us who actually hated the endings.

I can't confirm/prove any of this obviously since I've sworn not to reveal
anything further about it since this friend would rather not lose
his/her job. Hearing this just really ticked me off, and I had to tell
people."

Seems unlikely...but who really knows at this point?

Marauder Shields is back to save us!

Locke and Demosthenes much?

And that came from a fiction novel. Honestly, though, it may be possible, but I think it's unlikely.

it may be true or it may not be true but we have to remain civil and dignified in our cause and conspiracy theories only make us look bad... i know we all feel very let down and are open to beleieving such things but it hurts the cause if we focue on such things. continue to hold the line and we will get to the finish line intact.

I saw this thread topic, and I gotta say, I'm incredibly disappointed that this thread isn't just a thread where we can post pictures of plants.

I'd be surprised if half of the "get over it, it's Bioware's creative yadda yadda yadda" camp weren't shills.

Of course, the other half are definitely regular guys who just want us to get over it. :P

Nobody's saying everyone who likes the ending is a plant. Just some of them.

This is a real marketing tactic that's used by real corporations all the time. Why is it so hard to believe that EA is one of them?

I did notice that a lot of people who criticize indoc theory tend to only point out certain things, and then basically just say how they liked the game.

They dont try to explain the other parts that dont make sense, or pretend to ignore it. I've always felt it to be odd that if you cant explain something or if its just too ludicrous and stupid to comprehend, why not join the IT movement which attempts to make sense everything, and demand action from BW? Just seems the logical thing to do.

Probably not true. And even if it is they're not doing a particularly great job of drowning out the people who are unsatisfied with the ending.

that's simply because the reality is, the ending is really that bad.  out of all the real life people I know who've played it, I have yet to find one who likes the ending.  the closest, was a guy who didn't like it but thought maybe he'd missed something in the story.  so after replaying the game from the beginning (ME1) he came and apologized to me yesterday at work.  so far in my circle in RL that makes 8 for 8
