Doesn't really matter. Its a shady thing to do but anyone who says they like the endings gets completely buried by the rest of the users anyways.

Perhaps, perhaps not. It doesn't matter. The people with the "I love the ending" threads are either:

1) BioWare
2) trolling
3) not really grasping how screwed up the ending is, regardless of which theory you believe in

In all cases their opinion is irrelevant and the best thing to do is ignore them.

4) would be newcommers and general action game players.

If I was any of the 2 I would have moved on already, to the next thing.

Edit: Also, I would actually do the same if I was a dev, if I was mad, that people don't understand my stuff, and would want to plant the seeds of thougth in the community.

Or y'know they actually like it and accept some of the flaws of the ending?

To be honest, people who do like the ending are facing a losing battle against rabid one-view-is-right types of people like you two tbh...

That wasn't very nice at all, where was I beeing rabid, to deserve such dismission from your end?

I think anyone who didn't assume this was happening was naive.

this. I'm sure there are some who like the endings. I have a friend who thought  it was "cute" , granted he had ONLY played ME3. But some of the die hard supporters of the ending (not all I'm sure) I've thought had to be bioware employees of some sort. Mostly because some (again not all) will argue points and when you give them evidence proving them wrong, just ignore you and move on to the next person to argue with. That coupled with how the fact of how insanely pro bioware they are just makes it a bit easy to tell.

Again, i'm sure some of the pro-ending crowd are really being honest.

I've run into people on these boards today who are out-and-out hostile to any suggestion that BW bear responsibility for this mess. They're actively arguing aainst their own best interest - more value for no more money. So... astroturfing? Yep, I can believe it. When you run into someone like that, check the date they joined the forums.

I hate finger pointing, but if you really have to do that, make sure to check their GAW rating, and achivements too. They might just be very stubborn supporters of BW.

A corporate account should not have many achivements or to high GAW rating.

that would not be an accurate way to conduct a witch hunt, as I used to have an account until 2007 and I got sick of the love interest flame wars and left swearing not to come back here.  sadly, the debacle that is the ending of this game is just so horrific i'm back.

also, a witch hunt is not a profitable way to spend our time.  if you feel that you need to be more active, i would suggest going to other game sites and posting in the forums to let them know what we are doing.

civility and honor and perseverance will win the day so hold the d*** line.

from all the polls I'm seeing, I can honesly say that 1 out of every 5 people that finished the game liked it.

and that, out of those 1 of 5, I think every 1:20 is a plant.

Do with that what you will.

You know what the solution is...

HOLD. THE. LINE.

... and maybe a small tinfoil hat. Thin-gauge.

I could see that happening. That's not gonna change my opinion though. If one of their pawns manage to somehow turn BS into logic, I'll give them credit.

Of course, everyone who has an opinion different than yours is paid of by the evil guys.

Get a grip, people are different. And I'm no fan of the endings either I just think that people assume way too much from rumors and try to find things between the lines when there is nothing to be found.

This isn't a conspiracy theory, this is really how marketing works. Back when Total Request Live was on MTV, marketing companies would flood their phone lines with thousands of calls requesting specific videos that they were paid to request.

On Twitter, marketing agencies spam tweets to influence the Global Trends for their clients.

In general, this is called ASTROTURFING. The idea is laying down fake support for the product you want to succeed.

I fully agree with you, don't get me wrong, as I also stated a few posts back. But some people seem hellbent on doing so.

I would be rather suspect also.
I registered my games around launch, and try to support a civil discussion is most cases.
I just wanted to give them something to quell the rage, when meeting some one, who likes the endings.

Witch hunts do nothing and can gain us nothing. Even if we managed to prove that Bioware is seeding posts in the forums, does that get us any closer to a fix? It takes the energy we've gotten and converts it into a rioting mob. That result completely negates everything we've managed to accomplish so far and allows others to marginalize us. (Oh, that bunch? Spoiled brats, news at 11.)

Hold the line. Politely!

its one of the oldest marketing tactics in the book. much the same way they pay for reviews and influence various media streams with perks and incentives.

I'm pretty sure the witch hunt comment was a joke...as I'm sure most probably picked up. But I am prone to accepting most comments on the internet as jest, it's much easier than being offended!

Again, Hold the Line, lets not change our course. If we treat everyone who likes the ending as plants it looks bad. Better to attempt a civil discussion.

only read the first post of this thread, they do it all the time, not just EA/Bioware but companies in general. IIRC there was a Bioware employee for the whole DA2 fall out on metacritic, who gave the game a pefect score and said a few things to dissuade people from passing up the game.
