My laptop just can't handle ME3 at its native resolution with dynamic shadows running. Normally that's not a problem, but ME3 is just way too dark without them; I can't see half of the people I'm talking to. I know that if I was able to disable v-sync, the game would run much smoother and I could enable dynamic shadows. I tried the method used for ME2, but for some reason, that file apparently doesn't exist for ME3.

Your video card drivers cannot force it to be off?

I don't believe so.Noelemahc wrote...

Yeah it's weird, not possible by forcing through the drivers - and also not possible through Win7 to force triple buffering for some reason. Works great in XP though, thankfully (far better performance beyond just allowing triple buffering as well).
To force no v-sync, enter UseVsync=False in your .ini.

simply open C:\\Users\\YourUsername\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\Config\\GamerSettings.ini, and add UseVsync=False and SmoothFramerate=False to the bottom of the [SystemSettings] section, each on separate lines.

Can't you set it in the config tool? Not launched by default and not accessible through Origin iirc

No. Like ME2, the launcher doesn't have an option for v-sync.AlexMBrennan wrote...
