I don't have the health/weapons to defeat Branka. I can't leave that sector to bulk up. I don't have a saved game that would put me outside the anvil sector. Is there a way around this impasse? Otherwise I'm dead.

On you load screen you can see your auto saves. There should be one.
Yeah that's difficult. I tank Branka and concentrate my main on the golums.
Out of curiosity what is you party compositon? How many health poutices do you have? Do lyrium deposits heal you? I don't remember if they do or not.

I don't any health poutices. I think they were used on over-coming the previous revolving centerpiece, and the four knights. Unfortunately I have Morrigan instead of Wynne who, I think, would be more useful. And Elissa, and Shale, and the drwarf with the Welsh accent. The closest I can get to victory is having a remaining Branka golum with half health, and Branka with three quarters left before my remaining team member is offed. My load screen seems to have room only for five or six games. There are five saves inside the "anvil" section, and then, very strangely, one from the "abandoned meadow" which is so far back I can't even begin to think of retracing my journey to get back to where I am now. Oh for some cheats.

No you should have as many saves as you saved. There's a Save screen and a Load screen you should have about 3 auto-saves that the game saves for you.

Who do you have in you party? You named 4 people (I think, I don't remeber an elissa, and oghren doesn't have a welsh Accent.) Also after the Revovling centerpiece there are chests with healing items in them at the door way. Literaly there is no fighting from there to Branka. Also, your having that much trouble on easy? How badly did you stat your characters? If there decently made and have okay tactics this is a cakewalk on easy.

I have slots for only five saves. When I call up the Load page there are only five. Usually every time you save, auto, or quick, it remains in the inventory until the player deletes them.I did delete about three, but they were all in the anvil section. And there are not health poultices just outside the boss fight with Branka, and the golems. If I had the health I could defeat her, and her pals easily, but as I said I can't last long enough. The "heal" spell of the mage is not enough to get me through.

I've never done this but can you run away the person being attacked by Branka and have her chase you around?
In theory it's possible other people have beaten this on nightmare with no potions.

I however don't have the skill level to do that.

If you have Shale, you do know that she has weapon slots or slots where you can put crystals? Shale also has a group healing ability as well as the ability to throw rocks from the ground or to perform earth quakes. Morrigan is a really good spellm casterto have. However, you'll have needed to have her max out on either ice spells or fire spells. A blizzard can do real damage as the highest fire spell in the skill tre.
Are you playing om PS3 or Xbox 360 with a memoty stick? Because that the only option I think of wh
Also, you do know that you can make your own save games? Not only go ny the auto-saves? If you do, I apologize, but just wanted to mention it.
As you have Morrogan, she has her herbalism skill maxed out. If you have some flasks and some elfroots, she can make health poultices a plenty. She can also make bombs and other stuff as well a greater healt poultices than just the basic one.
Note: Elissa is from the Human Noble origin that fight with a sword and shield. You do know that you can use her shield as a weapon with shield bash?
Also, use a little tactics here, spread out your characters and try to focus on Branka. Remember that in order to control the golems, you'll need to have a control rod? And who has it for Branka's golems? There's a mod out there which let you have your dog (if you got it) as 5th party member. And the dog - and this mod - is awesome as the dog have have overwhelm etc. etc. It really is a nice fighting dog...
There's also a mod that lets you change your party at will, as well as a mod that let you travel anywhere.
This means that if you get those mods, you can a) change your party to say, Alistair or Sten (if you have him) or Wynne, if you prefer. Or travel anywhere from the Anvil and then return again. The drawback of this is that you won't be returned to the Anvil where Branka is, but probably to the start of the level. Still, this would enable to travel to say Denerim to buy poultices or to buy receipts for how to make better health poultices.

Your ally golems are the key to winning this fight. You start with two weak golem allies who are each fighting a losing duel with enemy golems. Immediately send you whole party to help first one, then the other. If Morrigan has any spells to lock down Branka while you're doing this then so much the better.
Once this is done, you have two beefy allies and the fight against Branka herself becomes much easier. Don't forget Morrigan can use those lyrium crystal patches whenever she's short of lyrium too. Plus this denies them to Branka who will make good use of them otherwise.

I'm nearing the Branka fight again myself... I remember the first time seeing Branka nearly defeated and then running about to every single lyrium patch to clone herself... but what the hell is that? Is it supposed to relate to something storywise? I mean, ok, Branka's nuts and obsessed and has been in the Deep Roads a tad too long, but... self-duplication? Morrigan doesn't clone by touching it, just got a minor boost in mana/ health. It looked like a bug it was so absurd and gratuitous. I didn't bother trying to fight four of her. Instead I reloaded and just waited until she was about at that same health level before sending everyone out to exhaust any lyrium patch I saw.
Oh, and treating her like an ogre to do the "chase me while my buddies pelt you with arrows" works like a charm... or the Tank Taunt + Force Field to keep from running around so much, though it doesn't last long enough with just one mage...
