We will try to bring some closure to Hawke's story but likely not in a playable form. Originally we had planned to do an expansion pack but had to stop to focus on what we are working on now.

That's a real shame. I'd loved to play that. Ah well... Good luck with the next installment in the Dragon Age series!

I doubt you can bring any type of decent resolution to Hawke in anything that's not a playable form, simply because the people that enjoyed Hawke would say "My Hawke wouldn't have done that" and the like.

You've only got a few options IMO: Keep working on an expansion or kill Hawke. Otherwise, it seems like peoples' Hawkes will be tampered with.

The latter option isn't one that people would like either methinks, and my faith in the former being of any decent quality is fairly low.

I'm very sorry to hear you're done making additional content for DA2, but looking forward to future DA products.

Dragon Age is by far my favourite game universe, because it has a great depth and nearly everything revealed til now makes sense and felt well implemented. That said I want the next installment to be more like Origins: Show, tell and let me explore this fantastic world, let me dive into the lore and give me as much customization as I can get.
I want it to be a really great rpg with mysterious dungeons, weapons, equipsets, characters and so on.

I definitly don't want the actiony focus of DA II, the over top animations and that "I try to look cool" - feeling. Friendship/rivalry system, cross class combos and the Qunari redesign are the only things I prefer over the Origins' systems.

So, my wish would be an Origins with some refinements in combat animations/fluidity ( but in a more realistic style) and the 3 points listed above.

Sad to hear  that Mark. I would have given the expansion a chance, because both DLC's, especially Legacy, were fun to me, way more than the original game.

I'd rather it left open to interpretation so I can imagine she sailed off into the sunset with her elven bloodmage lover and they did stuff.

Well on the bright side I'll be playing a completed game once I get around to it. That's nice. Too about the axed expansion, though. Good luck working on the next DA game.

I don't think the Hawke storyline needs closure. I find it interesting that he/she was in the center of a bigger storyline, namely the conflict between mages and templars. I'll be satisfied if the future of the series focuses on that storyline and ignores Hawke completely.

If you finish Hawke story in a book, comic or movie or something equally riducules (and it is silly. Hawke is a game characther don't bring in other media's in it) I will be beyond dissapointed. Same if you kill her off or on screen without my control.

In fact I will rather that you leave her hanging forever in dissappeared than that (same with the warden since we are speaking off it).

Rather than promise anything here, I'll just ask you to wait and see what we have to show in the future. I think we'll address at least some of your asks.

Heh. Remember all those times people accused others of being overly pessimistic and negative back in January-ish, when folk were predicting the abandonment of DA2 content?

Yeah. How about that, huh.

There is truth to this. We will try to bring resolution to the EVENTS that Hawke started. The personal aspects? That's a lot harder

Ok, I think I wasn't clear enough.
We will try to bring closure to the EVENTS that Hawke was involved in initiating.
The personal parts of Hawke's story are pretty much done.

My advice would be to let people make their own ending to Hawke's story and just wrap up all the loose ends like mage/templar conflict in future games.

Far better then messing around with everyone's personal story.

And fanfiction writers will fill in the more personal blanks anyway. ;)

Letting us know that there was going to be an expansion and that it was cancelled? That's kinda cruel. Now I will forever wonder what it would've been like. Dammit. Also, if you bring closure to Hawke's story in any other format, you're going to have to do it without settling on a pronoun, unless you plan on annoying a lot of DA2 players. That seems like it might be incredibly difficult.

Where can I Submit feedback for DA:O and DAII?

Hey Muezick,

One of the better places to post feedback would be here in the forums. The DA team does spend a lot of time reviewing posts made from everyone (good & bad) and one section I spent a lot of time was the 'Constuctive Crtitsm' thread that was created a year ago. The hook that made this thread important for review was that posters would tell us what they liked/disliked but then explained why. This is key. This information was often discussed within the DA team and helped us review what features/content we would work on for the then active expansion pack.

For now, keep the comments coming! We'll be reading them...

Ah okay. That's a different story then.

If I might say so though, I think DAII did enough of that, what with its railroading -- and he didn't start much of anything imo. Even Asunder just chalked the events in Kirkwall as "Oh yea. That thing. Right." if I'm recalling a few other forumites' posts on the subject correctly.

Gald that they patched some of the bugs. I don't know if I'm interested in Dragon Age anymore though. I loved DA:O so hard. I wasn't that I hated DA:2, but I dunno. I guess I'll wait and see though I am going to be a bit more apprehensive this time and wont be preordering a CE or anything.

I know. It's funny. Too often were we -- the ones that thought DAII was done for and expressed are high doubts anything more would be coming -- told we were wrong.

Vindication!

DA is pretty much dead to me by now unless they pull off some kind of miracle, which I doubt considering Bioware's rather questionable track record these days (most polite way of saying it).

I like to imagine that anyone who says something like this, yet is still here in Bioware's official forum, is simply expressing in their own special way how much they want the DA series to succeed in living up to their expectations.

Anyway, I'd love to provide some user feedback and criticism for the DA games.  I wish there were some organized, official way to submit constructive feedback, even, other than the forum threads.  I imagine it's difficult to glean feedback from the forums.

That calms me a little. Personally I think you are doing too much cross-media though. I dragon age becomes a universe you can only follow if you buy the books/comics/viodeo's I might have to leave it and that would hurt.

As for wrapping up da2, I will never understand why we got stuck with Mark of Assasin and an annoying characther instead of a post-game dlc, but whatever.

As long as you just don't do something as stupid as Hawke/warden kidnapped by the same mysterious force and new characther had to go look for them I will begin looking foreward to da3.
