Nope, and it's all Kai Leng's fault...

I suspect it was leveled and turned into a debris field. This was caused by a nova like explosion emanating from the systems mass relay.

Nothing can be saved, there lies only ruin and utterly desolation for everyone. Entropy is the only choice.

Nope , but Ali Hillis wanted a spin-off where liara rebuilds her world xP ( lol she makes an offhanded joke about that during the pre-release interviews)

I thought that if you failed to get krogen aid for palavan it would effect how the mission on thessia plays out in which it could be saved?

Sim Effect. Mass City?

I'd probably play it.

No, sorry. Thessia always falls.

Nope... I personally think it's good that it can't be saved though. In ME2 it is portrayed as one of the most beautiful and calm (in the right places) planets on the galaxy map, so for it to be destroyed without the chance to save it really drove it home that we were in a war against a ruthless enemy.

At least that's my view on it...

Erm, just to clarify, are you refering to Thessia's entry in the codex in ME2?

Too bad Liara is trapped on a jungle planet forever then!

If there is a Mass Effect 4 set after ME3's ending, it will probably star Liara because, assuming they need to let 300-400 years pass to allow galactic society to rebuild to some degree, she'll be the only recognizable main character still around.

Thessia falling is probably my favourite part of the game. For me, it was more emotionally charged(engaging:P)than any other part.

Pity it meant nothing in the end.

Nope, because Kai Leng has the unbreakable cutscene shield.

Wrex and Grunt.  In fact, they could make the game called "The Wrex and Grunt" game, and it would be awesome.

Why would they do that, Mass Effect was always about Shepard and no one else.
It wouldn't even be a true ME4 if they did that, it'd be more of a spinoff than anything

Damn, I'd buy that.

The good thing about Krogans is, they are probably the only thing in the Mass Effect universe that is in no way belittled by wanton and utter destruction surrounding them

It's actually good that it cant be saved, it adds LOT more proper feeling to the game with desperation of failing after all those sacrifices.

Yeah, I was thinking that they can be killed, but you're right, for a spinoff or post-trilogy sequel they'd surely just wipe the slate clean.

I felt the Thessia mission was one of the most touching ones, though Kai Leng's plot armor pissed me off. I never enjoy it when a game forces me to lose no matter how well I've prepared and no matter how well I played. My Shepard would've taken that Gunship out in 2 shots, then proceeded to mop the floor with Kai Leng. Thanks to plot armor, however, that didn't happen.

Up until then I thought it was phenomenally well done. Liara's reaction in particular was really heartbreaking.

I liked how you failed to save Thessia. It gave it a nice, emotional touch, especially with the post-mission dialog with Liara/the councilor.

This is the appropriate loss before a triumphant victory in a hero's saga.
