No. Just as I don't feel sorry for HItler.

Yes I did just compare Mass Effect 3 to the Holocaust.

This is completely unacceptable. & I don't care that you're joking.

I kinda feel sorry for them, im not without empathy. Also this failure is not the caliber of some others. ME3 is not a bad game by any standards. A bad game would be something like Mindjack or Big rigs.

But in the end this is the bed they made for themselves, they will have to lie in it. Bad decisions have consequences. The way the ending was handeled was a bad decision. Especially when you look at what they promised.

To put it on a more positive note, maybe they will learn something from this, as do we. Constructive but stinging criticism people, not mad flailing and raging. Help them make it better.

Also admitting their mistakes and learning and trying to do something about it is a great step. Hiding inside their ivory towers, not commenting on anything or giving vague statements is not.

Why should I feel sorry for them? They essentially deliberately misled consumers about what to expect from ME3 in pre-release interviews and failed to recognize that ME consumers actually care about the characters and the gameplay mechanics that the series was built on.

They did this to themselves.

Not in the slightest. It mostly comes down to how BW is handling this situation. Had they released a statement along the lines of "we messed up, we're going to fix it, but it's going to take some time", I would actually applaud them. Instead, we get Hudson and Walters giving us bullsh!t PR statements and a whole lot of stonewalling.

The only good thing to come out of the terrible endings are the hilarious memes.

No! Bioware lied to their customers in pre-launch interviews to boost sales. They have made this mess themselves so let them either make it right with the customers or let them fall due to their actions.

Sure, I feel a little bad for them.  No one deserves to be belittled or ridiculed.  I would hope that kind of bad behavior would stop.  It doesn't help, and I've always liked Bioware.  They've made some of my favorite games.

On the flipside, they are accountable for their actions.   This is the price of creating something that powerfully resonates with their fans.  Mass Effect became extremely personal.  Taking the story and gameplay style in a totally different direction in the final moments of a long series was hard to take.  Frankly,  they made some really bad choices.  This reaction is the result.

They worked so hard on Mass Effect 3 and now everyone's being mean to them because of the ending.  Could you imagine what it would be like if all of your fans suddenly turned against you?

I think we need to show our emotional support for Bioware.  Even though we didn't like the ending we need to let them know that we still love and care about them and everybody makes mistakes.

Nope, don't feel sorry one bit. They should have known better. Promising things and then don't pull through? Better luck next time.

Seriously... why feel sorry? Its how the market works, deal with it. And the entire uproar ultimately means that people care lol..

I have no pity left for Bioware/EA with this PR/ending-nightmare that they have created.

If this was actually what they had planned from the very beginning, and they never strayed from their goal, then yes, I feel sorry for them. It was originally their work of art and their vision, and again, if nothing about the end goal (or very, very little) changed from day one, then they have my sympathy.

But I don't think that's the case, and somebody somewhere who was privy to this ending (I refuse to say 'endings' because it implies choice) had to realize that this was a terrible, terrible idea. Somebody had to know there was going to be a backlash. You can't make a game series this good, that gets this popular, that accumulates such an extraordinary number of zealously devoted fans, and give them what they got and not expect bad juju. That would be the definition of insanity.

So no, based on my current understanding of the situation and the way the corporate world works, I do not feel sorry for them.

A bit, yes.

I can understand how after producing a piece of work you were pleased with - that you thought your fans would like - it would hurt to have such criticism. However, it's also necessary, just as criticism is necessary in improving and fixing mistakes.

BW are great but not infallible. They will make mistakes. It is important for us to draw attention to those mistakes and for BW, like any artist, to fix them and learn from them.

Agreed, they dug their own hole, but that doesn't mean we need to bury them completely.

Only up to their shins maybe.

No, They brought this on themselves.

Complete mismanagement from the moment that wretch of an multicolored ending was conceived.

I thought I was buying a game when really it was a pocket dose of depression. I had to get help over a video game of all things. So no.

The recent response is because the Mass Effect community does care.

I only feel sorry for the few talented people they still employ that don't have the willpower to leave and produce quality without stupid inane deadlines and halfassed visiondestroying shortcuts.

Not in the least. Maybe if the rest of the game was not as great the, awful, awful ending wouldn't poison the rest of it, and the rest of the series.

I also find it difficult to believe nobody told them internally that this ending was both stupid, and a betrayal of the fans.

I do feel sorry that some very good devs are being dragged down with the ****ty ones, but feeling bad for Bioware? Not at all. They're doing this to themselves with horrible PR talk and corporate BS.

I feel no pity for a company willing to shaft its fans. If they fix the endings, then I will once again be on their side, but until then... not at all.

I don't feel sorry for the company. Its a company. It made a hell of a lot of money.

I do feel a little bad for some of the employees who contributed to the game but not the ending. They worked hard on it, they were probably very proud of it.

It was a great game but its hard to praise anything too much because it was tainted by those last ridiculous minutes.

For the people at bioware - yes! If i finished a game id want to party, not to read and listen to angry and disappointed gamers... but someone made the decision to throw everything out of the window, so here we are!

still holding the line !
