I got the distinct feeling that Bioware dislikes Mass Effect as an epic RPG campaign for the fans and dislikes the fans of it even more. Why would I feel sorry for people who have nothing but disdain for me?
Anyone else feel sorry for Bioware?

We have to feel sorry because they delivered something that didn't satisfy their customers? What?
They had the time and the resources to do something that would've pleased the fans. They always talked about how much they "care" about the fans and that we actively shaped the development, instead we ended up with an ending to a beloved game and universe that doesn't really seem to appease the fans at all (at least most of them).

Did Bioware feel sorry for all the fans???

I dont think so.
^Sorry but this is the dumbest thing I've ever read. BioWare made Mass Effect for us, they can do whatever the **** they want. We respond by not buying anything with EA on the box. Thats how we win as fans.
But do I feel sorry for them? No. It was obvious that BioWare was going to tank once EA got their hands on them. However, the manner in which they flopped was...surprising to say the least. Dragon Age 2 most of us saw coming. The fact that they screwed up the ending to Mass Effect? THATS something I never thought I'd see.

Not really.
They buggered up and now instead of coming clean they are trying to hide. If only they had made an announcement earlier this might not of happened.

I feel sorry for the hundreds of hard working coders/artists/other writters that strove so hard to create something unique and amazing.
I don't feel sorry for the heads that flushed it all down the drain at the last minute. And no, it doesn't matter how damn good your vacation is-if your family dog suffers a horrible death in an avalanche on the last day of it-it will never be remembered for anything else.

I feel sorry for the team that worked on the content of the game before the ending, they deserve kudos.
For whoever came up with the ending, I would feel no pity whatsoever.

I feel sorry for the individual employees who put their blood and sweat into what they thought was a good product and I feel sorry for the community mods who are trying to fight this wildfire, but I do NOT feel sorry for the decision making process that thought this cluster-f was a good idea.

Their fine a lot game companies get bonuses based on critic review scores and if you do feel bad for them ? There are a ton of articles on the forum that will show you that our love and loyalty mean nothing to them.

If people started storming the BioWare office and attacking them on the streets, then I might feel a little sorry for them.
But feeling sorry for them getting insulted over the internet? No, when I was 4 I was told words can never hurt me, I have to assume the BioWare employees were told the same thing.

I don't feel sorry for them. This is really easy for them to fix, and if they don't then it's their own damn fault.

yes, very much so. because i'm convinced they wanted to do the best for everybody. they're not evil people.
some of you would do well to remember that they're people, after all.
Sorry, but they got in bed with EA, they knew what they were doing. Evil is the only thing thats ever come out of EA and thus are no longer people.

Yep. I make sure to hold the people and the company very far apart though. None of my gripes are against the people themselves, as individuals. Who am I to judge their character?
May I critique their work that I spent $300+ on. Sure. And I'll make sure it's constructive and that if BioWare to read it, be possible for them to implement it.
I pay them for their good work. They are not my friends, although we are friendly to each other. The relationship is symbiotic. They make me a good game. I pay them for said good game.

Kind of, as I think they honestly thought people would enjoy that ending. And for the most part, the game was very good.
But when I start to feel bad, I just remember all the lies they told us and how the ending is ridden with inconsistencies and a dues ex machina AI baby.

I do feel sorry for the individuals who for whatever reason didn't see this coming. I will be staying civil and not forgetting to repeat that i liked alot about the game at the same time as pressing for changes to the abominable ending.

So I guess I should feel bad for Bungie because they put Armor Lock in Reach even though it was a terrible idea and they got flamed for it? I think not.
Your looking into this the wrong way. It's not that people are being "mean" to Bioware, they feel that the endings were not what Bioware hyped before the game came out. If they would have said nothing about the 16 different endings, things might have been a little better. People feel a little let down by all of this and from a consumer stand point they feel a little ripped off. People have a right to feel this way, just as they have the right to like the endings. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

Actually, I do feel sorry for them. In this thread, I've seen them compared to Hitler and criminals. That's the wrong way to look at it. I like to believe they didn't commit series suicide on purpose; I like to believe that they honestly thought that this ending would be well-received. They made a mistake. Yes. It is a glaring mistake; it is a mistake that has cost a lot of people sleep and time and happiness. But I cannot believe they deliberately went out to infuriate their fans - and people would do well to remember that.
But they put a LOT of effort into the game - regardless of the outcome, and I feel sorry for them that all of that hard work is lost in the outrage over 10 terrible minutes. I'm not /surprised/ it's lost - but I still feel bad for them.
I'll only stop feeling sorry for them if they refuse to rectify the mistake.

I actually do feel sorry for them. I'm sure they worked really really hard. Unfortunately they made a really big mistake. I don't think it was a deliberate choice to ****** off fans or anything. Hopefully they will see the wisdom of fixing this.
