I dont think so.

^Sorry but this is the dumbest thing I've ever read. BioWare made Mass Effect for us, they can do whatever the **** they want. We respond by not buying anything with EA on the box. Thats how we win as fans.

But do I feel sorry for them? No. It was obvious that BioWare was going to tank once EA got their hands on them. However, the manner in which they flopped was...surprising to say the least. Dragon Age 2 most of us saw coming. The fact that they screwed up the ending to Mass Effect? THATS something I never thought I'd see.

Why EA?  Why not BioWare.  People need to stop living in a fantasy where EA ruined this game, it was BioWare that made the game, and BioWare that ruined the ending.

They made it to get paid. Why people like you connote their development as pro bono is beyond me

I'll be happy to shower compliments on BioWare again, and fork over loads of cash to them for future DLC, merch & other games - when they restore the trust they broke. They had a trust to give us an ending that - at the very least - fit the trilogy. I don't think they did that.

No, I don't even want a happy ending. I can't imagine my flesh & bone Shepard surviving all that. I just want an ending that a) makes sense & B) is worth it. Uniting the galaxy only to arbitrarily destroy galactic civilization? Bah.

No. They lied to us. The press releases alone are evidence of that.

They lost me as a customer. I complain about the ending so they know this and know what can be done to get me back.
If nothing is done about the ending then I will shut up. Shut up, leave, and never again purchase Bioware software.

I really believe I am not alone in that. In fact I'm sure there are a lot of formerly loyal customers feeling that way now. My videogame taste and opinions is usually smack-dab average.

yes, very much so. because i'm convinced they wanted to do the best for everybody. they're not evil people.

some of you would do well to remember that they're people, after all.

Are you from the PR department or from some PR damage control company? Your sign-up date is rather...recent. People who are new to the forums are here because they want to vent ANGER at the devs, not sympathize with them.

But you can't trick me, I have my tin foil hat protecting my brain.

I don't feel sorry for them, because they haven't really given us any information about their plans regarding a new ending or why they chose the ending they did.

Nope. They watered down the dialogue, and gave us terrible endings. no sympathy from me. Now if they had only done one of the two, preferably only given us bad endings, then maybe. But those two killed me3.

Dragon Age 2. Fool me once, sham on you.
Mass Effect 3. Fool me twice, shame on me.

**** no

Liars do not get freaking forgiveness like that and yes both Casey and Mac are, as it stands, LIARS.

I actually just found out officially that there are not 8000 war assets in the game thus you cannot get the best ending from SP alone even with a perfect import and NG+. we can add that to the pile of lies.

but sure, if they fix this they will be granted complete absolution

I feel a bit sorry for the many employees who put so much love and effort into this game. But that doesn't change the fact that they failed to deliver the endings they promised.

Besides, most fans love the rest of the game. The endings are so despised because the rest of the trilogy is so wonderful, so it's not like we're bashing all their hard work. Just the endings.

Yes I did just compare Mass Effect 3 to the Holocaust.

This is completely unacceptable. & I don't care that you're joking.

I was not joking.

I feel a little sorry for them, I don't think they were prepared for this outcome, maybe they thought that a few disgruntteled people wouldn't like the ending... Now a lot of people, fan sites and news broadcasts are turning Reaper on Bioware... I don't think they have a choice but to make a couple of new endings, where at least 1 of them is "You kill the Reapers and everyone and everything left is safe... For the time being".
I just have this bad feeling that we did not get the full might of the Reaper fleet thrown at us, and with all the other galaxies out there, there may be trillions more of the sons of ****es coming our way.

They worked so hard on Mass Effect 3 and now everyone's being mean to them because of the ending.  Could you imagine what it would be like if all of your fans suddenly turned against you?

I think we need to show our emotional support for Bioware.  Even though we didn't like the ending we need to let them know that we still love and care about them and everybody makes mistakes.

Not sorry at all. The ending was a massive slap in the face so why would we be sorry?

I can't tell you how conflicted this ending makes me feel about BioWare.  It was an incredible game.  It was an interesting concept they threw in at the end - though they delivered it so poorly they could not have made it more anti-climactic.  How can a company that made such an incredible story for so much of the game get the last 5 minutes so horribly wrong?  Is the last 5 minutes, as many people suggest, an indication that EA is destroying the company?  Should I take solace in the fact that the rest of the game was incredible?  In the last 5 years, I've become increasingly disillusioned with a lot of my favorite producers having notably less continuity defense in their stories and weakening storytelling - Halo Reach takes the Halo books and burns them into itty bitty pieces.  Starcraft 2 completely ignores Fenix as WoW slowly dismantles the personalities of many of its characters.  I'm afraid of trying Command and Conquer 4.  (I've never been able to tolerate a Bethesda game so they don't count)  And now, the last bastion of good story telling gives one of the biggest mood shatterers I've ever felt - and the painful part is that the only way they could've destroyed this mood so badly is by having such a good story to ruin in the first place.

I've stopped believing that BioWare could fix this.  The mood can't be recaptured and once suspension of disblief is lost, it's incredibly hard to get back.

I feel bad for the artists, programmers, the voice actors, everyone who actually did work on the core game. In comes Mac Walters with his 'lots of speculation' stupidity and breaks the series for everyone. The amount of lies coming from PR isn't good either.

Someone bring up that A, B, C ending thing. It's ridiculous. Its like Casey was completely out of sync with his own game's production. Its like being the executive producer basically means 'do nothing of significance except spout BS'

Why should I feel sorry for Bioware? Their staff still get paid, and they already got my hard-earned money.
But I'll be sure NOT to make the same mistake again.

Yes, I do. Because the effort and care and time they poured into the first 95% of the game is obvious for anyone to see, and I doubt everyone in development was involved in the endings, so they must be as disappointed as we are.

I hope the conclusion they draw is: "after 3 games spanning years in development, the only real mess-up we had is the ending, so let's just fix that and have a worldwide group hug with our "most passionate" fans!" :)

No. I mean I might have agreed had they not done this already with DA2.

Of course I do - for a large part of the team anyway. Because let's be honest: most of the game is pretty darn fun. The art is as great if not better than in previous games, some of the dialogue is hilarious while other parts are engrossing on a more serious level, the combat is still idiosyncratic but it takes a decent middle ground to accommodate various play styles. Some of the cinematics are simply fantastic, and the characters were as nice as before (even if I wouldn't have minded seeing some more new ones).

That said, there were some people who signed off on some ideas, we all know who and which ideas, and those people I obviously don't feel sorry for at all.
