Of course I do. They're just people like you and me, and now they have to watch random people on the internet trying to actively destroy the company.

i read an articl before ME3 launched, they said ME3 would fail not because it's not a good game but can't meet fan's high expection.

It would not have been that hard to meet the fans' expectations ...

They worked so hard on Mass Effect 3 and now everyone's being mean to them because of the ending.  Could you imagine what it would be like if all of your fans suddenly turned against you?

I think we need to show our emotional support for Bioware.  Even though we didn't like the ending we need to let them know that we still love and care about them and everybody makes mistakes.

I do not 'love and care about them'.  They are a business, comprised of people that are likely paid vast sums of money to produce a product that is satisfactory.  Their efforts up until the ending were acceptable and even good.  The ending was not.   I will not pay money for something hastily thrown together (by their own admission) at the eleventh hour and then simply forget about it and give them a free mea culpa.  Most especially after the abysmal way that they're handling this mess and their community.

If you want love and support you give it back.  I displayed mine in the first place by purchasing the game, sight unseen, because I had faith in the developers to produce something worthy of my money.  They reneged on their end of the deal and thus my love and support vanishes.  A simple chain of cause and effect.

In a  market economy, any company that fails to deliver goes down - public pressure only lets this happen faster and in a more transparent manner. Luckily, no one can blame the oh-so-evil software pirates in this case.

I think the very reason for this outrage is actually the love for the franchise.
Better to know that your fans love your creation so much that they rally themselves and ask you to change it, than to know that noone cares and will forget about it in 2 days.

Sorry, but "trying to destroy the company" is not what is happening here. While some people are more vocal than others, the idea is not that and saying that people on the retake movement are trying to destroy Bioware or EA is misleading.

No , they lied about the game. They lied to gamers, they lied to fans.

I do not feel sorry for liars.

Hell... I bet Courtenay Taylor got her script and her first thought was... "Wait... that's ALL my lines?  That's IT?"

Nope. BioWare's a company, a convenient legal fiction. Don't feel sorry for it at all. I do feel sorry for the devs and writers that put in thousands of hours of hard work only to see it all tainted by such an appalling end. But, if BW has to fail for EA and other publishers to get the message that pushing short-term profitability at the expense of consumer satisfaction is a poor quality decision, then I'll accept those consequences.

Really, they were screwed as soon as they made EA their owner and sole source of funds. After that they were just a disposable asset on EAs balance sheet.

No. Just as I don't feel sorry for HItler.

Yes I did just compare Mass Effect 3 to the Holocaust.

This is completely unacceptable. & I don't care that you're joking.

Making a joke about the holocaust is unacceptable, but how Bioware ended the game is acceptable to you? They threw out themes of diversity and acceptance in favor of the view that diverse races cannot co-exist, and that genocide or the forced removal of these differences is an acceptable solution. That viewpoint seems more repulsive to me than someone making a joke about the holocaust.

How is it unacceptable? The RED option, which is destroy the reapers & synthetic life was essentially the same with holocaust's idealogy. That the organics(aryans) are superior to synthetic life (jews), and thus synthetics deserve to DIE, even though EDI and the Geth were prime examples of peaceful race.

And people ask me why I find the endings utterly bull****?

The other options were forceful assimilation of opposing parties. It's like trying to make peace between the Israelites and Palestinians by simply erasing the border / merging them together into a single state. I bet some of the organics would call shepard some choice names finding that they just got merged with synthetics.

Ok, not THAT is alittle harsh...

But I agree that BioWare neither deserves, nor need, our pitty... there are a host of people in the company that make alot more money then most of us, and when they f*** up, they have to pay for it. Simple as that.

No, but I do feel bad for a couple of their employees who are absorbing abuse they don't deserve, not they writers mind you, they deserve whatever they get, but folks like Jessica who are good people with tough jobs and are lightning rods for people's rage, i'm very sympathetic with them.

This.

I read a post a while back by Jarrett Lee (the BioWare employee, not the quarterback). He was answering questions at home in his free time, mentioned that he was worn out because he manages marketing for the franchise. He, and many others at BioWare, have been with us from the start. Jessica Merizan is another example of someone who's been great at working with and being a part of the community.

Let's keep trying to be as constructive and precise as possible about what we do and don't like.

Edit: Also, please be cautious. Mods have made clear elsewhere that "Company Bashing" is unwelcome. Again, if you have a criticism then be constructive about it is my best advice.

Wow some of these responses are disheartening. I love BioWare for more then a decade of some of the best rpgs I've ever played. But I feel that, as a consumer, I was lied to about ME3 and the level of resolution I'd have. My disappointment stems from my utter adoration of the rest of the series. Granted this isn't the first time that I felt they have dropped the ball since the EA purchase, but overall I hope they can provide us with better closure to the series, and can continue to make amazing games. I'm willing to continue to be a loyal fan of BioWare if they can fix the endings. Hell, I was planning on buying an N7 hoodie before launch of ME3. I just hope they can restore my faith, I've already fallen out of trust with Blizzard over similar issues.

Kinda reminds me of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom", where Marlon Perkins would sit back and watch as poor Steve got attacked by some random animal.

Or to put it in mass effect terms.... "If you're fighting a bear, and the only way to live is to Sic your dog on it and run... You'll do it.  Much as you love your dog, it's not human..."

Let's stay positive. The passionate reaction to the ending is because Bioware's created a universe people care about. If Bioware wasn't full of talent, we wouldn't be here having this discussion now. They may very well give us some kind of epilogue DLC. It isn't unprecedented.

Yes. As much as the endings bothered me, Bioware is still a great company. I love ME and DA series. Now their fans are going to the government to destroy their work. I love you Bioware! (Just not the endings of ME3)

Yes. I am completely fine with the ending, and I'm heartily sick of the whining, and now wasting of taxpayer dollars.

I support BioWare as I have always supported them, and will continue to do so in the forseeable future. I love TOR, I enjoyed the hell out of Mass Effect 3, and I look forward to Dragon Age 3.

No. They knowingly agreed to the silly space magic ending. That is on their head and they need to own up to the fact that they screwed up and fix it.

I feel bad for them under the pretense that they legitimately liked the ending they made. Poor judgement? Perhaps.

This. I also feel sorry for the huge amount of people that was in no way involved with, or simply had no say in the ending.
They delivered an otherwise stellar game, and deserve some praise for that.

However, I also feel sorry for the Mass Effect series as a whole, and think it deserves better.
