Nope.. don't feel sorry one little bit.  I have been litterally physically and mentally sick since the ending.  I dont feel sorry for anyone that has intentionally put me through mental and emotional stress.

Wait, WHAT?

Are you friggin' SERIOUS?

It gets more ridiculous every day.

Doesn't seem ridiculous. When you get emotionally invested in something like this, a let down can be devastating. I remember when Anakin Solo died in the Star Wars extended universe. I'd read books about him since about the time I started reading. I took that pretty hard.

No. It's ridiculous, and incredibly unhealthy. There's something seriously wrong with your psyche if you are physically and emotionally sick over a video game ending for weeks.

They worked so hard on Mass Effect 3 and now everyone's being mean to them because of the ending.  Could you imagine what it would be like if all of your fans suddenly turned against you?

I think we need to show our emotional support for Bioware.  Even though we didn't like the ending we need to let them know that we still love and care about them and everybody makes mistakes.

I'll care for them and forgive them when they fix the ending. They run a great marathon and fell in front of the finish line. Now they have to stand up and cross it.

i did feel slightly bad for them. then i read the thread someone posted with a load of prerelease promises from the likes of casey hudson and co promising that this exact type of ending WOULDNT happen. I Bought me3 based on their assurances and the history of the other two games. they lied

We are ALL paying attention to the 99% of the game that came before the ending.  If we weren't there would be NO outcry over the pitiful ending they provided for one of, if not the greatest game trilogies of all time.

Exactly. This reaction to the ending wouldn't be like this if people didn't care about the game and the trilogy as a whole.

Anyone who says otherwise is a moron; sorry.

Anyways, I don't feel sorry for BioWare as a whole because they actually thought this ending would go over well with fans, which shows how disconnected they are from their hardcore community.

I feel sorry that they honestly thought working with EA was a good idea. Im not at all sorry about their treatment over the ending...seriously you make great storied games over the past decade and give us that pile of refuse.

On the other hand, the guy in the executive office thinking what the best way to sucker money out of people would be? I don't feel sorry for him.

Which is exactly what I am counting on ... let us assume for just one moment that Bioware execs are not stupid and hopefully know that gamers are not as forgetful as they wish them to be.

No it is not ridiculous. After choosing our own story and relate ourselves with the characters and the universe we can't accept this ending. It's like watching a part of us die. A part we put on this saga. And if you don't understand this I don't know what you are doing on this forums.

It is called closure.. there was none.. and there are many more people then you think experiencing the same thing.  I was one of the few that admitted it.  Nothing ridiculous about it.    Have a nice day.

Because the ending completely discards every event that game before it, and poisons even nostalgia against it.

If I could get a full refund until they fixed the ending, I would do it immediately.  As it is I'm not getting any DLC unless it fixes the ending.  I'm also not getting any other ME merchandise or future ME games, and I will no longer pre-order BioWare games on faith alone.

It's clear that ea is not the problem. An executive at EA would no way force them to make an ending like this.

Yes I do. But at the same time I'm still finding it hard to see why they can't just give a plain yes or no to an endings fix...

I feel sorry that they scuttled their own franchise with 10 minutes of cutscenes, but they have no-one to blame but themselves there. Still, mistakes can be forgiven.

If they do nothing about it though it makes it rather hard to feel sorry for a company unwilling to undergo some relatively minor work to produce an acceptable fix that would ultimately buy them a lot of goodwill and press as well as ensuring their franchise remains viable.

Nope. They made this choice, they should have had the sense to see the reaction. They have to live with it. And at the end of the day they're a cooperation, not my friend. They see me and use me for money, I see them as a source of a product. I'm happy to be a fan, but I'm not going to feel bad for them if they blatantly screw up and fail to deliver.

They get no more sympathy from me than any other studio. We're customers, and they'll happily ignore what we want and need for the sake of money. That may not be everyone, but certainly the company

I do feel sorry for them but at the same time just cant continplate the magnitude of the brain burp that caused them to create such an ending! Even though I believe the pressure needs to be kept on to change/extend the ending i think that the politeness of both sides (anti and pro ending) could go up :-)

Not one bit. The employees had to have raised warning flags over this and yet it was till made. I agree they're a company and as such were to give me my money's worth of a product.

I feel sorry for devs and all the staff who have been actively participated in creating Mass Effect. I mean it is hard not to see how much work has been done here.  Obviously something went wrong along the way and happened this which probably neither of us - creators and fans of franchise - wanted.

I don't care what went wrong, I simply wish to Bioware succeed by delivering their unique products and I'd like to feel the beat to support them. Like others have already stated, we are all just humans, things happen. What's important how people deal with them.

I hope BW is able to see that not everyone yells at them with hatred but there are also many fans who - I believe - wish for same thing and that's why they raised their opinions in a civil manner.

No, it's not ridiculous.  When you grow up with something like a book series or game series, you get attached to stories and characters and they influence your personal growth.  When the author then does a complete reversal of themes, kills of a beloved character in the most contrived way imaginable, and then for good measure, blows up the galaxy, it feels like a betrayal, and it can be emotionally traumatizing.

There's no catharsis, or grieving period.  It's wham bam thank you mam, and by the way everything that led up to this point was futile.

But you do realize that today's process of magazines reviewing games is terribly flawed, right?
