As we all wait for Bioware to decide on what to do, I wonder what a closure DLC might mean for the future.  Though such a DLC might appease many, I can't help but feel that it may not be a victory in the long run.  In the old days devs made sure that thier games were great and polished for release.  The ones who did it right recieved praise and those that did it wrong criticism.

But in todays world of patches and DLC, a dev no longer has to make sure everything is spot on.  Bugs and glitches can be patched post release.  Incomplete material can be added later.

We've been told that "big things" are on the way and if you believe the indoctrination theory, it seems as if this was all part of the plan.  Perhaps Bioware didn't think that the reaction would be soon bad, but a semi in game ending followed by a DLC true ending is not something I take comfort in.

I would hope that this DLC ending fix if it comes would be a one in a lifetime situation for a once in a lifetime franchise and not the norm for how games are released and marketed.

So what do you think?  Is the idea of Ending DLC for games the future?  Is it good, bad?  Something to ponder as we hold the line.
