Tali's face...meh. I'm not a Tali fan, so I can't really comment on that one.

The fact that they took a stock photo off of the internet and photoshopped it was revolting imo.

They designed how many races that are featured in-game? And they couldn't take the time to deign a in-game shot of a single face of the Quarian race?

It's a three second shot that you get if you do things in a very specific way. Why SHOULD they waste a ton of developer hours on this? Is modifying a stock photo the best option they could have used? Clearly not. Is it something to want to lynch the developers over? CLEARLY not.

Completely disagree, either don't show a quarian face or do it right. Don't insult us with a 5 minute PS job when there are dozens of BETTER quality renderings of Tali online done by non-professionals.

This.

Why should they spend time on something that EVERYONE- even non-Tali fans - was wondering about?

Because, "What does a Quarian look like?" has been a question on everyone's mind since ME1(Almost 5 years). Dont even try to say you've never thought about it.

i dont have a pc that can handle SWTOR...but if it was made AVAILABLE for the xbox360..i would play it.

awakening wasnt bad...DAII however......terrible...but i still consider it a isolated incident.

ME3's only MAJOR issue  was  the "ending" or lack thereof. Everything else was forgivable....cuz the game was EPIC!! one of the best games i have ever played.

the bad ending doesnt mean it is a bad game...just means for one reason or another we were given a bad ending.

A. You just did what you said you wouldn't do.
B. You didn't read the article did you?
C. I didn't say anyone was wrong, I asked the OP to read an article. The intent was that the article is so well written it might change their opinion.

Thanks

Yeah, those were different departments, so the conflating they're doing isn't really valid. ME3 was still a remarkable game.

This is me saying "I've never thought about it". Holy crap, am I going to be struck by lightning now?

It, honestly, wasn't even close to a concern of mine. There were so many other important parts of Mass Effect to fixate on that i never care about this one, even on my Soldier playthrough where I romanced Tali in 2. Hand to God, when I heard they were going to show Tali's face, I was hoping it would be covered in boils and snakes and whatever, just because it would be HILARIOUS.

Again, would it have been nice to have had a fully rendered version of Tali's face? Sure. Is it something to lynch the developers over? No.

Again, a developer's job is to create and release quality products, just like any other manufacterer. The 5 minute PS job was quality I wouldn't even expect from a Facebook flash game, let alone a game I spent 87.00 on. It's perfectly acceptible to not care about the character but your position on not holding the developer to account for the gigantic quality failure is so flawed it's silly.

It's a sign that the devs simply didn't care enough.

And that part, care, is immensly important to some consumers.

Personally, I see it as a sign that Bioware no longer respect their customers when they can't even be bothered to set aside resources for things like that, but instead just copy/past random stuff from the internet. Why have a budget for art in the first place if you're just going to do less work on some of assets than average joe indie-dev ?
It's not a game title released at budget price, but a high-cost title with additional costs attached to it from the outset, and yet they can't even do what most indie-devs can do for low cost titles: "Come up with their own unique artwork for everything".

It's really poor effort and I was shocked when I heard about it in a prestigious title as ME3 was supposed to be.

Or, it's a sign that they were vacillating back and forth on whether or not to show Tali's face, and finally, late in the development cycle, they decided to go ahead and do it. By that time, the development budget - and more importantly the time budget - could have been spent, so they decided to do the best with what they had available.

Or, they did a design and weren't satisfied with it, but by that time they were up against a deadline and so had to start over and, again, do the best with what they had available.

Honestly, people want to assign sinister motives to BioWare over EVERYTHING. They're not coming to get you. They're not coming to get your dog. Sometimes things just HAPPEN. Not for evil reasons, not to come and get you, not to make your life miserable, but they just happen.

Unless you know the full story, assigning the motive of "Well obviously they just hate us" is... sad. It's just sad.

The only thing sad is a big company like EA charging 60$ for a product that included copy/paste artwork from the internet rather than making their own.

Sorry. My bad. It's actually also sad that some people seemingly try and defend this kind of behaviour form big companies.

So how much should they have dropped the price because of it? $5? $10? Should they have given it to you for free? Seriously, it's not as cut and dried as you make it out to be.

And, just so we're clear, since you lack comprehension skills, I'm not defending the fact that they did this. I. Would. Have. Preferred. They. Made. A. Different. Choice. Either fully render it, or don't show it - and I would have been in the don't show it category.

I'm simply saying that ranting about this and throwing insults at Devs, and trying to ruin their business because of a decision that was made - when you have NO CLUE about the root cause of that decision - is irresponsible at best, extremism at worst.

But I know you, Salsa. I've seen your posts for a long time. And you legitimately hate BioWare, so I just don't expect anything different from you.

Talking about lacking comprehension skills... There's a mirror somewhere, you know...

I don't hate Bioware. I hate the business strategies they have turned to after EA took over. There's a vast difference you know. I got most of their games, and even popped out the dough for all of the DLC for ME2, but that doesn't mean I am not entitled to having an opinion without succombing to fanboysim.

Releasing a product with stuff like the Tali photo or winterspace pic at the end is just plain unproffesional. It's something I would have expected from a joke-release by some idie-dev, but never in a million lightyears would I have expected a company like Bioware to resort to that kind of laziness. Making claims of budgets or giving any other excuse for stuff like that just reflects poorly on those in charge of the development cyclus of the product.

As for your claims of 'ruining their business', or 'ranting' or being 'extreme' does seem funny when you line them up in the same paragraph you know. If you really feel that I am ruining their business by making my opinion as normal consumer heard, then I feel you are missing the boat of how things work out in the real world by a mile.

But please... Do go on 'ranting' about 'extremism' in your effort to try and deflect the debate from Biowares obvious shortcommings in the release of the recent batch of products. B)

Christ it was a bad ending that's it. And SWTOR really depends if you're into MMO's, personally I love SWTOR. I liked DA2 (not as good as DAO though).
