Hey folks, I don't ever post here but I figured there should be a poll for this, it would be interesting to know. It might even give mods some perspective of how this will affect most players. I will be keeping my opinion to myself!

no, an ending of one game isn't going to stop me playing every other game they make

Honestly I have no idea........
I do feel that it will give me pause given their track record but I honestly do not know yet.

Ahhh, can we have a choice for a "ending that makes sense"? I don't mind not getting a "happy" ending but I want the ending to make sense and not have PLOTHOLES EVERYWHERE!
If whatever ending DLC they came up with, IF THEY DID, made sense and gave closure, and was not necessarily a happy ending, I might still end up buying Bioware games and DLC.

Lol, what other game? The next Bioware project is the next modern Command and Conquer.

As stated in the poll, I need an "will wait for proof that the ending to an entire series isnt a bag of BS before buying any game of the series" option...

I don't know. I've never played any Bioware games outside of Mass Effect, and I'm not eager to try at the moment. I did buy all of the DLC for Mass Effect 2, and unless they change things I won't be buying any for ME3.

Ah, hindsight is always an issue with making a poll, for now just assume that when I say "happy" I mean, more detailed and with more options.

Yes, I will no longer purchase anything Bioware related. Unless the fix or add to the endings. I will continue to "Hold the Line".

I don't care about whether or not the ending is "Happy," I just want it to not be so dissonant from the rest of the game.

Well, I might hesitate to pre-order games. In all my life, I have only pre-ordered two games, only b/c I liked the first part of the series so very much: DA2 (and we all know how wonderful that game turned out compared to DA:O), and ME3... So, yeah...

Posté 19 mars 2012 - 06:21
Yes. Not to say I'm not going to buy any other BW/EA product, but after DA2 and those atrocities they call endings, I'll be very cautious.

Yes and no. I probably won't stop me from buying another Bioware game, as I did like the majority of ME3, but it will probably affect whether or not I preorder in the future.

Yes, I cannot in my mind support a company that had such atrocious writing for one game's ending (I've literally seen fanfics on this forum that are literally 1000x better and more satisfying) by buying another of their products. In this world of gaming, people vote with their wallets, regardless of what they may think and I fully intend to vote with mine in a way I see fit.

It all depends if the ending is 'corrected' (for lack of a better work) if yes then no i will still buy bioware, if its not then they have one more chance with DA3 if thats also less than par (as DA2 imo) then it will be secon hand buys thereafter!

My answer is a little more complicated than "yes or no". Prior to ME3, I would have pre-ordered the next Bioware game blind. I'll definitely wait for reviews.

It will mean I don't buy DLC for ME3 because I have absolutely no desire to play the game any more.
As for my next purchase it would rather depend on what it is?? DA3 I will probably get anyway when it surfaces, but I don't think I'll be pre-ordering it and my expectations won't be very high.

Honestly: yes
Imagine they create a new incredible frachise with a great story that will take three games.
¿Would you risk investing yourself in this story and in this characters for years only to have your hopes crushed again with the ending of the last game? I wouldn't for sure.

I won't be preordering another Bioware game, but that won't stop me from possibly buying great games from them in the future. I'll just be more cautious and wait to see how people like it.

I agree with this. Trust in the writing quality of the company has been lost. An ending to an epic saga is absolutely important in assessing the quality of a series. I think a lot of people's pattern will change from "I trust Bioware, I'll buy this game" to, "If I hear that the series is a good series, after it's finished, I may look into it."
A lot of people have done the same with television. I know people who got burned by shows like Lost and BSG, and they no longer get into new shows when they're on the air, instead they'll wait to watch an entire series on DVD at a moderate pace, after a series has concluded, and after they've been told by friends with similar tastes that it's not a huge letdown in the end.

I'm pretty much on the verge of kissing anything with an EA label on it goodbye.
They ruined Battlefield
They ruined Command & Conquer
They ruined Crysis
They ruined Need For Speed
They ruined Dragon Age
They ruined Mass Effect(pending!)
So yeah... not a very good track record.

After this, I just had about it with them. DA 2 was a mess. SWTOR was way to easy, buggy and has a fail engine. Now ME 3's ending ruined the entire franchise. Shame such a great game go to waste.
