I've been scouring as much as I can (i.e. for the past 10 minutes ) and I'm curious, does weapon weight apply to squadmates? Would e.g. giving Garrus a Widow + Particle Rifle nerf his cooldown or does it have no effect whatsoever?

Some people say yes, others say no. 

I really have no idea :\\
