Why bother when the ending you get is exactly the same, full of plotholes and lacks any closure.

Einstein once said Insanity is doing things over and over again and expecting different results.

OP is a typical ending defender. Notice how he insults all of you for not liking it. Typical tactics for his fecking type.

I want to replay the game. I have several Shepards just lying in wait in my ME2 save files. I just can't think of going through ME3 again and getting to that abysmal ending. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.

To me, the biggest highlight of the series is the way you get to impact on the flow of the story.

I expected those choices to have an impact on the way the story concludes, as was promised by BioWare up until the release.

Knowing that isn't the case, ruined all replay value for me personally.

What's the point in bringing the Geth and Quarians together, the Turians and Krogans, saving the citadel council, ... if you know how the game ends. The destruction of the citadel and the mass relays makes it all pointless.

I have to admit my first playthrough was one hell of a ride though. I was really planning on immediately starting a second playthrough with my renegade Shepard. Now it just seems pointless...

Who gives a flying F*CK if the ending undermines the logic of the choices you've made. Can't you enjoy the experience of making those choices!

What's the point? Galaxy is screwed, Shepp's friends stranded and even if he is alive he will never see them. I have no desire to do this again and again.
For me, destination was as important as journey.

I wanted to replay it but it just doesn't matter. My first playthrough was full renegade, and now that i know that my choices don't matter I see no reason why i should play as paragon. Then there are all those plotholes...
It just hurts my brain! :/

Im playing my brand new Shepard right now. Lost most of my saves unfortunately, so I had to start from scratch. Playin ME1 right now, just about to save Tali from Sarens men. When I get to end of ME3, I will choose the ending and just head canon the rest.

My playthrough from ME3 was with a new character. Default FemShep with Samantha lesbian romance.

Excellent quote from one of the genre's masters that certainly applies here.

No, obviously not. Have you not paid attention at all?

The game is about choices, the ending invalidates the purpose of the game, thus the game is not fun to play.

I loved all three games and I was fully planning on replaying the hell out of ME3 just as I did the first two. I thought I was going to love being able to replay all three games right after each other but the ending just kills any desire to do so because I know no matter what I do, everyone is screwed and all I'll get for my troubles is a majorly unsatisfying, senseless ending that overrules everything you did leading up to it. First time I experienced the ending it was gutwrenching. I forced myself to go through it a couple more times just to make sure I hadn't picked a particularly crappy ending. I hadn't.

Believe me, I want to replay ME3. I want to replay the entire series. But right now...I just can't.

I'm on a second playthrough and it feels pointless. So far it's taken me three days to even get past Sur'kesh.

The problem is that nothing I do matters. I want to discover how dialogue changes if I import a different shep, but that's not the same as playing through a story. Sure I wanted to see how Wrex treated me if I hadn't destroyed Maelon's cure, and now I found out and I'm like "k". Because ultimately it doesn't matter. Eve lives or Eve dies, Wrex likes you or Wrex doesn't like you. Who cares? Space magic is gonna destroy it all anyway.

Same with reclaiming Rannoch for the Quarians. That is arguably the worst part of the plot. Who cares that the Quarians get Rannoch back? They don't! They end up stranded at earth like a bunch of gimps, restricted for eternity to their exo-suits because they have no means of going home.

The ending is awful but I think the lack of my decisions mattering at all hurts even worse: okay so they kind of go hand in hand, but even so.

I can't replay this knowing nothing matters. It's a mass of missed opportunities. The combat is actually a ton of fun which is too bad. It's kind of ironic, but it seems like I'm getting more use out of the multiplayer than anything else... and I still have 5 other Shepard files I was planning on playing through.

Analogy:  You go into a restaurant.

You look at the menu...

"I'd like the Hamburger please."

Twenty minutes later the waiter comes out with a plate of dog crap.

Then he tells you that you should have enjoyed ordering a Hamburger.

I'm a third of the way through my second playthrough. I'm considering it my canon playthrough since I ****ed up some things in my first playthrough (eg. Grissom).

I'll probably take a break after, then do a another playthrough being a jerkface renegade.

Because we have a heart and a soul?
If you care about the story and the chars you simply cant replay throught the game when you know everything will go to waste eventually.
Gameplay is nothing compared to emotional bond with this universe.

The ending failed in such spectacular fashion that it made the rest of the series almost unplayable.
