There's one helmet that I saw once in game, but never again. It was being worn by the heavy armored Militia in Redcliffe most notably by the militiaman who takes you from the windmill to the chantry. Is this piece NPC-only or have I merely missed it on each of my plays?

yep.....they needed loads more armor and helmet designs, just changing the colour for the various sets of heavy plate is not enough same goes for all the armors.

even before the game was released though i could tell this was how it was going to be, you only needed to look at the armor drawings to see that they were all reskins. I really dont see the point designing a beautiful and interesting game and then skimping on the thing that players are going to be looking at most! very strange!

I have to agree with the topic.

Don't get me wrong. I love the game, but it does really need to have more of a variety when it comes to equipment.

I played through first as a rogue and like many others, I basically looked the same the entire game. Only the color of what I was wearing changed.

A little better when youre able to wear heavy/massive armor. A few more types and some reskins that make some of the armor look much nicer (heavy chainmail vs ceremonial).

So far Ive only seen 3 types of robes. You have the Enchanter type robes, the robes with the fur shoulders and weird neck warmer, and then you have robes with fur shoulders and the cut down the torso (at least on female characters its there anyway). None of those are much like robes either. I was expecting to see robes from the like of the ones in KOTOR2. You know, long flowing ones.

Eh.

Anyway. Would be nice to see more variety. Would be even nicer to see armor that uses the same model that Duncans had. Now thats some awesome looking stuff right there.

I wouldn't mind if we had Assassin's creed style hoods for the mages, and maybe we can have massive armor that looks symmetrical for once? It sounds weird, but I can't stand the whole "larger shoulder plate on the right side" look that all massive armor have.

Katanas in the game, please. Other fantasy worlds in books or games come up with some way lore-wise to introduce exotic sword types in the game. Have some surface dwarf traders come across the equivalent of the Asian continent in Dragon Age and bring back some katanas to Ferelden.

Here's another that's quite great.

Luckily the maker decided to give up on his/her anti-human racism and removed the elven restriction :D

Comes with some great swords too.

Sten's sword Asala looks awesome. I'd like a model similar to that for a Longsword

Can we get more closed helm designs with smaller eye slits, like King Peter's helm in the Chronicles of Narnia movies? http://costumes.narn...terhelmet2.jpg.

I would feel more like a tank with that kind of helm, it has small narrow eye slits, and small breath holes.
