It's funny though(and the next episode is not bad too), but it's wrong. Not everything that's funny is true.

I've said it before about their other 'responses' to the movement to Retake Mass effect 3, and I'll say it here: This is designed to get you mad. when you do, IGN wins, as does Bioware's PR team. If you allow yourself to lose your cool over this, they can paint all of us as arrogant, whiny, 'entitled' teenagers. The best way to counter this is to ignore it. Keep strong, move on, and above all: Hold The Line!

I think IGN is censoring the top comments. There was a comment that defending Retake that was in the top comments, and had about 15 likes..

Now it has been replaced with this ( at the time of this writing )

mass effect ending: If u feel disappointed, its too bad. you paid for the ride, you enjoyed most of it but the last part where the ride stops and its time to get off leaves an empty void within you. That's life. Its human nature to never be completely satisfied. Deal with it. AS for this "change the ending" campaign. Have gamers become that spoiled and entitled? Would hollywood remake an ending because we didn't like it? It'd be nice but it's not our project, we didn't make it, we play it.

But it only has two likes.

Well, beyond the 80bit part, it gets insulting. Too bad, that they aren;t willing to see we have a point. I hope people both at IGN, and those using IGN to get their game information, start to realize what is going on, and that ridiculing a position isn't good for anyone.

I feel that mocking someone shows a lack of respect for the other person. I also believe that as long as we respect one another, there isnt a situation or issue where we do not understand one another, and cannot come to an understanding.

Technically IGN is going argumentum ad hominem on the people behind the points instead of adressing the points themselves. When you resort to such arguments - you admit that you have already lost.

My thoughts exactly. When you resort to petty name calling instead of adressing the matter you have already lost.

But by all means, please, have your fun, don't let me interupt you. I am sure you will feel good about your self when you are done.

Just dislike the video and move on. And make sure to have your adblockers on so they don't make any money off you watching the video.

What happens when IGN falls on it's face?

It's face gets a bit part in the game! :D

Sorry Mrs. Chobot, couldn't resist. It was a good set-up line... :innocent:

Seriously who cares what they think. Hold the line.

Hmm.. There's 50 000 people understanding that the ending
isn't logical. Most of them highly educated doctors, former military
men, businessmen. We are all very civilized and have given over 60 000$
dollars to child's play. We send them mails.
Did you know?
1. The ending stole the picture "Space winter"
2. The ending was a complete rip off of Deus Ex
3. Tali's picture is a photoshoped picture taken from google.
4. Drew Karbyshyn wrote 95% of ME3 just not the ending and got no credit for it

and this was posted with 38 likes

IGN, losing credibility for three years and counting!

They have also shut off their top comment slot too.. Look like they can make fun of us, but cant handle the people striking back at their attacks.

These clowns cried like babies when sucker punch changed the appearance of Cole in Infamous 2. The one who likes to throw entitled around, Colin, wanted the old cole back. And then, bam! They got their wishes. So the ones that are fanning the flames are not infallible as they wish to be perceived.

Disappointing how biased and willing to sell out they are. Pity they can't be bothered to not be insulting and do a bit of research. They only damage their own credibility.

Guess this was their backup plan for when the poll failed. And I like how they only laminate the bad apples.

well, if it's a spin, then anger is exactly the reaction they want. So I won't play their game (as in PR game. Still will play ME3, just not the ending), nor should you.

I was SO hoping wtbusername was goign to try and point out what I said to him was wrong... Instead he just goes away. These drive by comments people are making with no substance whatsoever when it comes to defending the actual written ending is annoying.

What is the point of coming onto a forum, saying "the ending is good", if you have no ability to actually defend it?

How would you know I'm a troll if you don't know me/feel the need to know me? I'm not a troll, my recent posts prove as much.

This...

The way they frame their argument, they are correct. The developer created the product and has every right to end it as they see fit. But that really has nothing to do with the Retake movement. And although I am not a member to it, I at least know enough about it to make an enlightened comment. IGN and RetakeME3 are making two different arguments, which is why IGN doesn't understand what you guys are fighting for or why. They are using the pre-established notion of developer rights. That's fine and everything, but it has nothing to do with what Retake is fighting for.  If Return of the Jedi ended with Luke fighting Darth Vader, losing the battle, then ascending to stand on top of the Death Star and speaking to a ghostly Ewok who informed Luke that he is the physical version of the Force and that he can allow Luke to save the galaxy by destroying all technology and stranding everyone on Endor before rolling credits, then IGN's argument would be that George Lucas created Star Wars and therefore has the right to end it as he pleases.  They'd be right.  However, a viewer could argue that that would be a poor ending without closure, foresight, or sense, offering more questions than answers, resolving nothing, and creating plot holes.   That viewer would be right.   And although George Lucas, as the creator, has every right to write that ending (and I wouldn't put it past him at this point), it would not change non-sensical literary fallacy. The truth is, there would be no "good" endings or "bad" endings if they weren't both created by someone, somewhere, at some point. That takes nothing away from a creator's rights to write a bad conclusion to THEIR story. But it also doesn't change it from being a bad ending.  When IGN understands this, they will have won half the battle.

...is the truth.

It's sad when your stomach's turning because your embarrassed someone might see you watching this. Mass effect's ending was about a developer vision, they wouldn't had to have waited until last November to finalize it. Bioware is a corporation interested in money.
