it IS from the DLCs
and not from the official ones
its NOT the armor DLCs though, its probably the party chest DLC coz before I got it this never happened. god damn newbs trying to act as game devs ... just causing trouble
not to mention how UGLY the "Blood Dragon Armor" from the crappy DLC was ... just ... terrible! Some random guy got the model of dwarfen massive armor and changed its texture using his tarded wallpaper ... gimme a break

EDIT:
Bad file found: ctc_gifts.cif (gifts addin)
delete the value as described in one of the previous posts
sloves the problem for sure ;)

Ok, so I also have memory leak at Landsmeet dialog. I also found my .cif file (only one of them shows up). It's originally a file that cannot be open, so I turn it to workpad.
You mention about toolset and GFF file in GameDir, which I don't know where to look for or where to find. Please help me. thank you.
:crying:

(Copy & Paste from PM (got that mail later))
I dont have DAO or the toolset installed anymore. But it was pretty easy
to fix, so...

First you need the toolset, which does provide a GFF editor.
With that editor you can open end safely(!) edit the .CIF file and
remove its "module script".
With "GameDir" I meant the path where you installed the game to.

If by any change you don't know where you installed the game to.
It is usually is "C:\\Progams\\BioWare\\..." (just a guess).
You can however look at the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\BioWare\\Dragon Age", the  "Path" entry will you tell exactly where it is.

The toolset will be installed in a sub-directory under the same path, called "tools".
In there you will find the GFFEditor.exe run it, open the specific .CIF and remove any module script set there and than save.
If anything goes wrong the editor will have created a backup of the .CIF so you can always go back.

I could give you a (stupid) small app I wrote back than that
retrieves all important game paths, but there's no attachments here, so I
actually cant.

Anyway cheers,
Michael

Edit: still that no improvments over there in the forum, hmm? Since that much time passed, I guess I can now say that you dont care (BioWare) about this "SocialNetwork", right? /rant

I did all the stuff Good master Xetrill informed, but problem persists. I had one fan made mod which used module_core and deleted the value. I played through the end of my Harrowing (and I was like "Yay" this finally works" because i managed to skip through the ending dialogue with "mouse" and here comes the BUT! (you know the rest but i feel like writing)) Jowan wakes me up and laggitylaglagFREEZE! I actually signed up for this forum because this seemed like the best solution yet.

SO! on with the program. The only mods that use module_core left are official DLC's which of course have not caused trouble prior mod installation. Let us assume that these mods i have are so awesome i must have them (all skills can learn, 2h sword dual wield, maybe ill install this later: lvl 50) And for this, I need help. Is there hope?

Might this have anything to do with extracted_straight_to_override_folder mods? (which the 2h sword dual wield is)

On top of my head...
Could be that, you overlooked something (which would be good, because that's easy to fix ^^).
Could be that, - if by chance you have the toolset installed, used and exported a script - some old toolsetexport scripts get loaded...

Maybe, override mods can break your game, like any addin really. Depends on what they override.
Any mod that overrides any core script (*_core.ncs) or uses an engineevents*.gda "hook", might do just that.
But the guys publishing such mods usually know about that, so they are careful.

I recently continued an app I began writing back when DAO game out, its purpose is to find and correct such errors.
As of today, it only works on a file-by-file basis, meaning it cannot detect any GDA conflicts or look inside ERF files.
But besides that, works great.

So, in the first case. Sorry, I cant help you....
If it might be the second case, that's easy. Just PM me your mail and I'll send it to you (and be my guest as beta-tester ^^).

P.S.: If their is anyone who implemented an GFFv4.0 reader/writer in either .NET or C/C++ please let my know. I ain't got much experience with binary files and reverse-engineering those, is a pain in the ass. And I know of a Python solution by Mephales which I am looking at.

I actually got the same problem.
It happened after i added a few more user mods.

I wiped the override directory content and reinstalled only specific mods.
It happened again (argh !)
Then, looking for answers, I've read this post.
I searched in the override directory for any *_core.ncs file and found one in the AutoSwap mod, Deleted it and now the game is running smoothly.

However, i had this mod for a while before I added new mods (and then removed them all) and, all that time, the game was running just fine.

So maybe it is a problem from a combination of libraries, and/or it has to do with the order in witch mods directories are scanned and loaded (maybe by date).

Well, even though DA has a really decend addin/mod system for a game. I guess it was simply not build (especially in the tooling aspect) to handle many, many addins running simultaneously. And those addins might even attempt to cooperate with each other...its hard to support such scenarios and still have a game/app that runs as you would it expect to.
That said, I currently have about 70+ addins/mods running/enabled with not more than one conflict. And that one conflict, is hardly game breaking -- Spell Shaping doesn't protect followers from secondary effects due to an incompatibility with Advanced Combat -- and I could fix that myself, if I cared enough.
The whole game folder contains over 25gigs (including the personal-files stuff) so there is alot of custom content in there, and it just works.
But that requires management and understanding of the game and the addins.
When I'm going to finish and release a project I call XsDAOTools that might get alot easier -- such simple stuff like the cause of the things described in this thread can be fixed easily, it's trivial. Sadly though, some things are not ^^.

also my main character wont gain attribute points during lv up and is now level 5 must be a mod problem.

Is this problem occuring with the awakening expansion? or is it the origins campain? I have found that the no auto-level party members mods for the origins campain completely screw up the leveling up of player and party member skills/stats in the awakening campain.
