I sat there and kept saying "WHAT!?" over and over for about 5mins. Then i started crying.

My gut's reaction was to become nauseated. I was more stunned than anything at the ending. Then I got ticked off.

Personally, I realized that the ending was as bad as the headlines implied. I then turned around and tried to shoot star kid in the face.

When I was first presented it..

"OH MY GOD GREEN! GO GREEN!
" then after he ran into it.. I realised it didn't make much sense.. I got upset.

Repulsion, soon replaced by the feeling of my own bile moving up my body.

as a reaction to this my Shepard committed suicide. No not heroic sacrifice, but suicide.

To be honest, after I watched the ending for the first time (red) I was like "Everything Went Better than Expected" because I thought that gramps was Shepard recalling his tales. But then I read how even female sheps got gramps, and how it's probably not Shepard, and that my Shepard died. That's when I was aghast at what happened. The other endings I didn't bother, because who cares? It's all the same ending.

My reaction:
"Hey Shepard, why don't you ask A Question or two?"
"Shepard?"
"Shepard?!"

I just kept staring into space. My mind couldn't process the logic that went into such a terrible ending.

First I tried to shoot the magic boy.
Then i tried to go back to where Anderson lays.
I was like: "Please let me goo! I never asked for this!"
Then the Critical Mission Failure text showed up and i was like: "Yes i did it it's done!!"

I tried to process the idea that all of choices destroyed the relays and killed me, and was unable to do so. Then my gut was like, "I came to kill the Reapers so I guess I'll pick this one" and accidentally picked control without realizing it. I then powered down my PC.

^-- That was pretty much my exact expression.
I had heard mention of a 'destroy' and 'merge' ending but little more than their title plus the general discontent from everyone including the opinions of people I respected. I thought I was prepared to be disappointed. It was worse than I ever imagined.

Step 1: Picked destroy, not thinking too much about it yet.
Step 2: Watch the version of the ending i got.
Step 3: .....................
Step 4: Go online thinking i did something wrong, youtube/google search for me3 endings
Step 5: ???????
Step 6: Text my friend that also plays mass effect that I thought the ending was terrible.
Step 7: Start supporting wanting an actual ending (I'd like several DISTINCT endings, not "r/g/b + very very very slight changes in the cinematic, thanks. changing the color does not mean it's a unique ending compared to the 2 other color choices)

I had "spoiled" myself before the game's launch, so knew the ending(no plural here)... when i reached magic god-child i just went "**** this ****" and alt+tab out of the game.

That's what I did too. Next thing I did was wander over to the edge of the Citadel hoping I could jump off. Nope.
Same, then I chose destroy because to hell with them. I spend 3 whole GOOD games trying to kill them, nothings stopping me now.

I went online to make sure I hadn't done something wrong, and then was still confused. So I just picked blue, since it was the prettiest color. Good job Bioware, you made me agonize about so many decisions throughout the game that ended up being meaningless, and essentially go "eenie, meeny, minnie, moe" for the one that did.

I was completely stunned and paused the game for about 30 minutes, unable to bring myself to move Shepard and wondering if I had gone wrong. I tried to leave and take the elevator back down. I shot at random things. I ended up doing a Google search to see if there was any info on the endings. Turns out I did everything right. Eventually, I accepted my fate and chose Destroy as I figured it would kill the kid also.
Then I sat back and experienced all the joy of my red explosion and discovering my pilot, my LI and my bro Garrus had abandoned me and got themselves stranded on a tropical planet for their troubles. The sweetest victory of all.
