Sure, after a few months you might get a new ending. But the original ending, the most dramatic moment, has already passed. The best you can hope for is, months later, to replay the game and pretend that the previous ending didn't happen. The ultimate moment in any RPG, that first playthrough where your emotions are running high and you're gripped by what will happen next, is gone.

I didn't like the ending, not at all. I've explained why it is objectively bad. But the internet phrase "can't unsee" is perfectly accurate here. Once you see a person's face, no amount of makeup or plastic surgery will ever make you forget how that person actually looks. This ending is the ending. All you can achieve is a high priced DLC alternative ending that has probably already been leaked to the media. Would that actually satisfy you?

I dont care about feeling better I want an epologue that shows how my prior choices meant anything to the galaxy after the fact.

Oh hell yes.

And if they would erase or negate StarBaby, I'd be ELATED.

as long as the ending has options and we are given a full range of possibilities from happy to tragic then hell yes

Yes, if it's meaningful and different enough it provides extra replay value. Maybe they could make it branch out in the last minutes to provide a completely new experience.

Edit:

Just as much as replaying Chrono Trigger many years ago provided me with pleasant surprises every time I experienced a new and different ending.

Actually no. This ending ruined it for me. I will always remember it as the biggest disappointment in my own personal gaming history.

If they do it, not everyone will like it.
I wonder what happens then.

Enough will change their opinion to make it a non-issue.

Considering that the biggest fundamental flaw with the entire 'endgame' (regardless of the choice you end up making) is that it's a staggering display of a badly-set-up (i.e. 'not at all') plot twist for the sake of it, which manages to reduce the entire war effort into a 'score multiplyer', rather than elements that actively change the outcome in their own right (the size of your fleet should affect how well it fights back in space - not the intensity of whichever 'magic ray' you choose. How does that even work, anyway?)...

If an actual 'ending re-write' makes better use of ALL THE ASSETS, ALLIES AND TROOPS WE'VE SPENT THE ENTIRE GAME/TRILOGY AMASSING, then hells yes.

I don't see it happening, though. The best thing we can expect is an epilogue, since BioWare seems to think that this is just about 'closure'. Actually re-writing the final 'chapter' would be an admission of failure on their part, but frankly, it'd be the only way to solve the glaring lack of plot logic that so badly marrs the game's finale.

To make a quick list... only if:
Everything after harbinger blasts you with the laser is erased. Start from there.
-Harbinger has to talk, he is the main reaper why isn't he talking.
-Where are the krogan
-Where are the Rachni
-where are the geth
-where is the space battle, we only saw the beginning of it? that is it?
Closure to what happended, endings, completely different ones. CLosure to what happended to our friends
yes a cheesy happy ending with sheperd surviving, if we did everything, if we gathered everyone why coldn't we get a happy ending?

If we somewhat rushed it why not get a somewhat medium ending with most surviving, but not you.
Throw the little weirod space god child idea out the window, sheperd was dreaming the whole thing because he bumped his head when harbinger's laser hit you. So you were just in lala land.

If none of this aint in there... I wouldn't even bother.

where I would disagree with the OP opinion is that Mass Effect has been about DIFFERENT endings. Yes, you can't "unsee" the ones now but saying you wouldn't want more choices in a game that was suppose to be about choices doesn't make sense to me. That would be like choosing the "red" destroy the reapers ending and then refusing to watch the "green" synergy ending because you can't "unsee" the red destroy ending. I want to see ALL of the endings and I would LOVE for an ending that provides closure, actually follows plot and their own lore, and yes....one that is "happy" (relatively speaking) that reflects my careful management of my playthroughs throughout the ME series to get the best ending.
