Of course not, they'll make similar DLC to what already exists for the series (Javik, Kasumi, Zaeed). There are a couple empty rooms on the Normandy that are there specifically for this reason. I fully expect an Omega mission with Aria as a new crewmember hanging out in the Life Support room and then the Leviathan mission, maybe with a Batarian who will live in Jack's old room in the basement. Each one will probably also come with an extra weapon or two and some alternate costumes for the crew.
The Extended cut took them a couple months to develop and was basically a short Powerpoint demonstration with a some bonus dialogue. The multiplayer DLC has mainly used existing models/animations and the main work there was in developing the new stages, although many of them utilize existing elements from the single player campagn. For all we know, the "new" characters were already finished/close to finished at launch and they held them back to keep the community interested and also to make MP balance easier to deal with. To do something like Kasumi/Zaeed/Javik takes much much more time, and because of that, I'd assume all of the remaining DLC has already been decided on and under development since before launch.
Although lots of folks seem to think that adding that kind of DLC is "meaningless" since the ending is "set in stone" as it is, it will give people an excuse to replay the whole game again and experience the new interactions and action with new characters/romance options. Think about a playthrough with and without doing the Javik mission early on, for an example. Story-wise it doesn't change much of the big picture, but the crew interactions and all the little moments with Javik certainly add up to enrich the game and the lore. On the other hand, Zaeed didn't really add much to the ME2 story, and Kasumi did quite marginally. We can hope that the new missions and characters will have as much of an impact as Javik.
I, for one, am also hoping that since the game's engine still looks pretty fresh and modern, that Bioware will do some Episodic games from the reaper war. A 10-15 hour campaign with a new main character showing a different side of the conflict (earth, thessia, palaven) as a standalone game for $20 would be pretty cool, especially if the ME3 data affected it in some way. Since Miranda, Jack, Zaeed, Morinth, and others only cross paths briefly with Sheppard in ME3, they could all definitely make Cameos...

There are what, 8-10 different romance options over the series? Do you really think they're going to make 8-10 DLCs so everyone can go on one last "date" with their digital-fantasy woman/man?

The extended cut did not take a couple of months.
It was the night before release "Oh ****, we promised to fix the endings" followed by a scrambling of keys and thirty minutes later "patched it up a bit, cya tommorrow guys to think of more ways to copy Gears of War gameplay!" and then the last guy out hitting 'Upload' as he turned the lights off.

I don't understand why the romances means THAT much to some of you people. It's a great bonus and a cool way to make you care about the characters, but enough is enough.

As a result of the popularity of the Romance DLC thread and polls on BSN and HTL, folks over at HTL have combined all the suggestions and made a new, more in depth survey.
It will only take 5 minutes of your time, unless you like to make comments, and we hope to get even more responses than on the BSN polls.
Results will be analyzed, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware.
If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!
Please take the survey!

With Emphasis: No way. Sincerely: Thane was the best LI for my Femshep and he died. With Extreme Sarcasm: There are too many zombie games on the market right now to make DLC of him coming back.

Yes I most certainly would pay for a specific romance dlc. I am currently playing through ME3 for the first time and I am shocked by how lousy Kaiden is towards my shep.
Kaiden takes her on one date and professes his love for shep, she does the same, then they have lunch. I finish up on citedel and go back to ship expecting a little snuggling some point soon in the cabin, after all they have been apart fo0r a long time. No go. He stays downstairs and my shep checks on him a lot, he has a few random convos with her but nothing loving, caring or supporting.
WTF I feel like kicking this guy to the kerb!
My shep is going round helping everyone else, telling them to grab what happiness they can when they can and what does she get from HER man? Nada! It makes me feel like Kaiden is a real loser..
Thane dies, where was Kaiden, not comforting shep thats for sure.
Kai Leng nearly kills shep and takes off with the catalyst stuff, shep is horrified, traumatised by seeing Liaras homeworld and people get totally destroyed and she feels like a FAILURE and who is there to comfort and hold Shep? Who tells her she is fantastic and doing brilliant and gives her a warm and loving hug? NOT KAIDEN!!!
I felt for sure he would have some comfort for her so I ran her down to him in engineering and he was there having a great chat with the engineers and feeling sorry for Liara!!!! What about HIS woman??? OMG I AM TOTALLY SAYING DUMP THIS LOSER NOW!!
WHERES THE DUMP BUTTON?
So I pop in to see good old Garrus and he gives her a pep talk and a bit of a shoulder to cry on.
Would I pay Biware for better romance dlc, hell yeah! Cause its probably the only way they will do a satisfying realistic job on a game relationship. Game immersion has gone for me cause Im so upset by how dark, depressing and futile this whole game is and the lack of love and support from sheps LI is the last nail in the coffin.
How hard would it have been to dump those lousy and irrelevant dream sequences and put in some proper effort on the relationship for shep. Im sure throughout history every great leader had much better love and support from their husbands, wives and other halves.

Whats the point to pay for it if you gonna be screwed after the end?.
Well.... Unless you can choose the blue ending and turn you LI into a Reaper... Maybe get some baby reapers to care of.
Nah! Only ending where a LI DLC would matter was the red one, where you f.....g kill a entire race and MAYBE you're alive... Can't stand to this.

All-Encompassing Romance DLC, YES. One purchase, all possible romances. The DLC then just appropriately features your save's LI. I'd buy that. And this is not to say I'm lonely and live in a basement. Married 14 years, 4 kids right here.

All the multiplayer DLCs, new outfits, weapons and whatnot, I won't get unless they're free.
