A question for the OP:

If you went to a restaurant that promised gourmet veal at $60 a plate - and then they served it to you badly cut and severely undercooked - would you send it back or would you just choke it down in order to respect the Chef's expression of "culinary art?"

I've said it once and I'll say it again:  once art hits the marketplace it becomes a commodity and is subject to consumer demand.  This has been true for as long as people have been selling things.

If your contention were true, then consumers would have no right to demand changes to any product that required any degree of creativity whatsoever to produce.  Which would be unbelievably stupid.

Bioware doesn't HAVE to change the ending. They can do what they want.

But if they don't do so, I'll just make the calculated decision never to buy another game from them ever again. I guess if they want to keep me, and scores more people, as a fan and loyal customer they will do something that adds endings that are determined based on the major decisions you made over the course of three games while also adding an epilogue that closes the book and ties up the loose ends on the various characters you met and forged relationships with along the way.

I am not a forum poster. I will most likely not return to chek replies on this thread, but as a fellow artist, I wanted to give the team my heartfelt support and congratulations and tell them to not change one iota about their masterpiece.

And yet, some threads opposing the ending are closed immediately even if no one attacks people on the level that this guy did. But threads similar to ones already present are worse than ignorant harassment ones, right?

As an illustrator myself, I find criticism plays a very important into getting better. If I didn't have critics on my work, I'd still be drawing badly draw anime cartoons. Praising someone work and ignoring mistakes is damaging to the artist in the long run. Artist become better from listening to their teachers, lecturers and peers, buisnesses get better by listening to their fans. Maybe Bioware won't bother fixing ME3 but at least they would have learnt something for their next game.

The game was utterly amazing until the last 10 minutes. If Shepard has to die I rather it was a noble death, and not from failed logic, I rather have her dying by smashing a ship into a reaper than the way she bowed out. And they've not also ruined Shepard, they also ruined the reapers, they become failed cartoon villians.

The ending turns all the quarians/geth/krogan into one big side plot and detached it from the main story. I now see most of the series as one giant sidequest, with a bit of the main game thrown here and there. The whole thing should have come together at the end, but it doesn't.

You haven't finished it, your opinion on the ending is invalid.

I say this because I thought exactly the same as you when I started reading about peoples reactions to the ending. I thought, get a damn grip people... of course shepard will likely die, and it can't be that bad.

Then I finished the game.

Somewhere between the space magic and my love interest (who was in my squad in the final mission) stepping off the normandy with Joker, I decided it was a terrible ending.
